Absolutely beautiful, 1980 US one sheet movie poster for the George Lucas sci fi classic sequel “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back”. This Advance Studio style design features an incredible over-sized image of Darth Vader (so pivotal in this instalment of the franchise). After last being seen spinning off into outer space, the character of Vader was so popular after the first film that Lucas needed to assure the public that he was back for the sequel. Being originally folded (as issued) and totally unrestored this stunning example displays and presents to a very high standard with deep rich unfaded dark colours and represents a fine addition for any collector of original movie posters or Star Wars fan memorabilia.
Trivia: In order to avoid sharing creative rights, George Lucas decided to avoid using a major studio to finance this movie. Instead, he bankrolled the $18 million production himself, using a combination of his profits from Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) and a bank loan. Although the move was risky, it paid off several times over. Lucas recovered his investment within three months of the movie’s release.

A special poster advertising “The Empire Strikes Back Night” at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California held on May 21st in honour of the 30th anniversary of the movie with a cool image of Dodger Stadium at night and Darth Vader and the Millennium Falcon with the tagline “This is my town – Dodgertown a galaxy far, far away”. Presented here in original unrestored condition this beautiful 2010 rolled (as issued) example has deep unfaded vibrant colour tones and displays to very good effect with the minimal of handling wear. Printed only in the US for this extremely limited screening this is a truly scarce poster and highly sought after. For the 40th Anniversary 2020 re-release of the George Lucas sci fi classic sequel “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back” Lucasfilm issued this amazing one-sheet featuring the artwork of Matt Ferguson, the hugely successful artist responsible for some of the most memorable recent Marvel cinematic releases. This ‘updated’ style features some of the best imagery from this instalment from the original trilogy with some fantastic key scene renditions and like many of the 1980 posters a dominant Darth Vader and the iconic Imperial Walkers. This eye-catching and desirable design was given a limited edition lenticular makeover in 2020 by Bottleneck Gallery and sold in 1 mm and 4mm editions. The poster offered here is printed on 1mm PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) and mounted on high-density paper backing, numbered #200/300. Lenticular printing is a technology in which lenticular lenses (a technology used for 3D displays) are used to produce printed images with an illusion of depth or the ability to change or move as the image is viewed from different angles. Truly scarce and highly sought after, Ferguson’s imagery is already firmly established as a fans favourite, and this impressive item represents a fine addition for any collector of original movie posters or Star Wars fan memorabilia.

Beautiful, original 2008 US one-sheet movie poster for George Lucas’ animated instalment of the space saga that is “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”. Striking artwork by CMP Design & New Wave Creative makes for a real eye-catching piece that because of the dark colour tones makes it very rare in this high grade condition. Originally rolled (as issued) this double sided example displays and presents to excellent effect. Like everything associated with “Star Wars” merchandise and advertising, the top quality production values have created a fantastic and colourful looking item of hugely collectable, hard to find original Star Wars memorabilia.
Trivia: The chest piece that Anakin wears is the same design as the one he would later wear as Darth Vader.

For it’s second season Disney Plus issued a magnificent advance “New Season streaming Oct. 30” one-sheet poster for the hit Star Wars universe show “The Mandalorian”. The colours are truly breathtaking with ‘Mando’ and his ward ‘Grogu’ (Baby Yoda) illustrated in almost photographic detail. “The Way” by Rory Kurtz for Mondo was released to celebrate Season One of the hit TV series, and it is such a cool poster. Hand-Annotated ‘Archive 2’ as it has come directly from the personal archive of the artist Rory Kurtz and printed using eleven colour inks on Domtar Lynx Opaque 100# cover paper. Kurtz has this to say about the design “The Mandalorian is mysterious and iconic in aesthetic, and I felt the art should mirror that, with Mando holstering his blaster stoically amidst the smoke, ash, and fallen enemies of the recently finished battle”. A beautiful alternative movie poster by Paul Mann for Roland Emmerich’s sci-fi actioner with an Egyptian mythology twist “Stargate”. Superb artwork for this highly enjoyable romp, resulting in one of the best looking alternative movie posters for the title. Printed in 2023 by Mad Duck this ‘Black’ edition is hand-numbered #25 from a run of 250. Mann’s beautifully detailed artwork and outstanding characterisations, combines with a beautiful colour palette to create an art print that certainly impresses. Presented in excellent (as issued) condition it represents a fine example of desirable and highly collectable cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The stargate is a system designed to open a wormhole. A wormhole is a hypothetical way of space travel called an “Einstein-Rosen bridge”, named after scientists Nathan Rosen and Albert Einstein. According to them, the wormhole should be capable to unite two distant points in the universe, altering space-time laws to cross from a point to another in a brief period of time. The name “wormhole” compares the universe to an apple, with a worm boring through it to reach a point on the other side instead of crawling the long way around on the outside.

A great looking ‘cast’ character poster for Robert Rodriguez’ 1998, sci-fi horror hit “The Faculty”. Described as a cross between the Breakfast Club and Invasion of the Body Snatchers it’s up there as one of the best popcorn movies of the genre – superb fun with top notch special effects and a tight script. But then you wouldn’t expect anything else from the director who bought you Planet Terror and From Dusk Till Dawn and the writer of the first two (and best) Scream movies. A nice and very collectable item of original movie memorabilia. Offered rolled (as issued) this original first year of release UK Quad displays and presents to excellent effect with a great creepy cast image perfectly suited the vibe of the movie.
Trivia: At the start of the movie, Coach Willis (Robert Patrick) is seen standing at the end of a long hall, then begins running down the hall in pursuit of Principal Drake (Bebe Neuwirth). The way he runs, and the way the scene is shot (cutting back and forth between Willis running and Drake trying to open the door) mirrors a similar scene in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), when the T-1000–also played by Patrick–is chasing the Connors and the T-800 down a long hall while they wait for an elevator to open.

“Bolt Your Doors. Lock Your Windows. There’s something in The Fog !”
After the huge success of Halloween John Carpenter quickly followed up with the equally creepy horror The Fog. Taking creepy imagery from the movie the US one-sheet features silhouetted zombie pirates in a ‘fog’ filed room. The original movie poster offered here is from first year of release, 1980 and displays to excellent effect. Originally folded (as issued) it is presented in unrestored condition with only minimal handling wear. Great horror imagery on a genuinely rare cult classic from the Carpenter archives that represents extremely desirable and collectable movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Although this was essentially a low budget independent movie, John Carpenter chose to shoot the movie in anamorphic widescreen Panavision. This decision gave the movie a grander feel for the viewer so this didn’t seem like a low budget horror movie.
