Trivia: The very first time we see Freddy in the movie, he isn’t being played by Robert Englund, but by Special Effects man Charles Belardinelli, as Belardinelli was the only one who knew exactly how to cut the glove and insert the blades.

After the acclaim artist Graham Humphreys’ earned after his outstanding work on the British marketing campaign for Wes Craven’s “A Nightmare on Elm Street” it came as no surprise that he was commissioned once again for the sequel “A Nightmare on Elm Street: Part 2 – Freddy’s Revenge”. With the success of the character Freddy is no longer a horror character to keep hidden on the advertising material and Humphreys certainly doesn’t hold back as Krueger’s fire scarred visage takes up nearly all of the poster with his (now familiar) battered fedora and razor bladed glove included in the imagery. Trivia: The original glove from A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) was used in this movie and was also seen hanging on the wall of the work shed in Evil Dead II (1987). This was in response to the use of The Evil Dead (1981) on a television screen in A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), and part of a continued banter between directors Wes Craven and Sam Raimi. However, when Wes Craven loaned the glove to the A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) set, it was lost but eventually found by a Freddy fan, Mike Becker, at an auction in 2009.

A lovely original Japanese B2 film poster for the Robert Zemeckis sci-fi time travel romp sequel as Marty McFly and the Doc go “Back To The Future Part III”. Beautiful Drew Struzan artwork for one of the most recognisable movie poster series’ of the 80’s. Offered here is an original 1989 Japanese B2 film poster for one of the most collectable classic modern movie poster series available. Updating his artwork from the original and Part II (where he added the Doc) this style sees the Doc’s love interest Clara Clayton (Mary Steenburgen) added to the 1885 versions of Marty (Michael J. Fox) and the Doc (Christopher Lloyd) This unrestored example presents and displays to excellent effect being originally rolled (as issued) with minimal handling wear and beautiful deep colours that ‘pop’ from the paper. Trivia: Marty uses a “Frisbie’s” pie plate to knock a gun out of Mad Dog’s hand. In 1871, the Frisbie Pie Company started in Connecticut. Their pie pans were thrown on the campus of Yale, and this eventually lead to the invention of Frisbees.

An original 1989, first year of release in Czechoslovakia small one sheet film poster for the quintessential classic romance “Dirty Dancing”. This beautiful originally rolled example is pretty much faultless. Incredibly rare and much sought after original 1981 UK quad film poster for Sam Raimi’s “Evil Dead”. Raimi’s original cult classic is probably one of the better zombie / supernatural movies ever made, becoming legend with the horror genre shocked audiences around the world and became a phenomenon. Lead actor Bruce Campbell is put through a continually escalating series of horrific encounters that allow him to show the full extent of his talent for slapstick comedy. Palace (Video) Pictures bought the rights to distribute the film and commissioned up and coming horror artist Graham Humphreys to design the quad and video artwork. Released in cinemas and on VHS almost simultaneously the modest outlay for the rights to distribute the film proved to be an excellent deal as it went on to see great box-office takings and thousands of tapes sold, but also resulted in making these theatrical posters a real rarity. Designed to look slightly distressed, this originally ROLLED (as issued) British UK quad film poster is from first year of release, 1981 that displays & presents very well. A great looking piece of horror art that represents an exciting and scarce country unique British piece of original horror film movie memorabilia.

John Carpenter’s masterpiece of modern horror “Halloween” was the first and by far the best of this enduring film franchise which acted as the definitive slasher flick. The artwork for any of the film poster produced are all extremely collectable and strikingly individual in design; from the ‘Jack O’Lantern’ US one sheet to the UK quad film poster featuring a screaming Jamie Lee Curtis as Michael Myers’ hand appears at the car window; all seen through an icy blue haze. Offered here is one of the best of the more modern alternative movie poster designs by the artist Tyler Stout. Stout’s unique linear style and use of autumnal colour tones makes for a truly distinctive piece. What is Giclee ?
Derived from the French term gicler – meaning ‘to squirt or spray’, the term describes a printing process whereby microscopic dots of pigment-based ink are sprayed onto archival-quality paper to ensure the fidelity of a limited edition print to an original artwork.
The richness, accuracy and depth of colour is thanks to the method’s potential to achieve a huge colour gamut (the spectrum of colours distinguishable by the human eye). Unlike the four tones used in lithography, giclées often use five: light cyan, cyan, light magenta, yellow and black.
Fantastic for reproductions which require maximum detail, giclées are most commonly found on watercolour paper or canvas, but can also be created on glass. Different types of paper will produce different effects. Matte paper works well behind glass due its lack of reflectivity, whilst the shine of a glossy finish can give an artwork a brighter appearance.

1987 was the end of a historic movie tradition as Brian Bysouth produced the last artist drawn painted James Bond film poster (Fascinating Brian Bysouth interview with Eddie Shannon of Film on Paper) for Timothy Dalton’s 007 debut as “The most dangerous Bond…Ever” in “The Living Daylights”. Bysouth has used the classic image of Bond viewed through the end of a gun barrel to fine effect and further embellished the finished design with great action scenes and marvellous renditions of the latest Bond-girl, Maryam d’Abo and of course the classic Aston Martin (in this case a V8 Vantage Volante). The original 1987 UK (country of origin) quad movie poster offered here is presented in high grade unrestored, rolled (as issued) condition and perfectly suited to the landscape style for which it was designed for. Colours are bright and unfaded, the black background a deep black and the white areas truly bright. Hugely desirable and very collectable, it would be a worthy addition to any collection of James Bond cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: This was the last James Bond film to use an original Ian Fleming title until Casino Royale (2006), a gap of almost twenty years.
