  One of the best must hummable theme tunes and a truly apocalyptic finale, it is no surprising that “Ghostbusters” was the biggest film of 1984. A supernatural summer blockbuster with humour, thrills, spills and some of the best special effects money could buy at the time. Ivan Reitman’s masterpiece is a much loved genuine classic that has been complemented by a series of alternative movie posters and in 2019 Mondo commissioned leading artist – Robert Sammelin to create his version. Sammelin has produced an outstanding addition to the title, truly eye-catching and super stylish as Gozer the Gozerian and the Stay Puft Marshmallow man take centre stage in the streams of the Ghostbusters’ proton packs. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks and displays to excellent effect being hand-numbered #311/325. An extremely scarce example and an impressive item of collectable film movie memorabilia from one the best movies to come out of the 1980’s.

  Trivia: Almost none of the scenes were filmed as scripted; most had at least one ad-lib. Most of Bill Murray‘s lines are ad-libs.

Sometimes lobby card sets are slightly disappointing as they don’t really represent that many interesting scenes or characters from the movie, but that is the complete opposite here – this complete set of ALL eight US lobby cards is magnificent, featuring the Ghostbusters on six of the cards, a super-sexy, albeit possessed Sigourney Weaver and the iconic ECTO-1 ghost mobile. Originally flat and olded (as issued) these superb unrestored examples display to excellent effect with minimal age and handling wear and represent an impressive item of collectable film movie memorabilia from one the best movies to come out of the 1980’s.

  Ghostbusters

  “Who ya gonna call ? Ghostbusters…They’re Here To Save The World !”

  The supernatural comedy, spectacular effects and unforgettable characters of “Ghostbusters” are brought together in this vibrantly coloured, richly detailed alternative movie poster by artist Roger Motzkus. Produced as a private commission in 2026, the composition places the Ghostbusters, Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddemore at the centre, surrounded by memorable characters and creatures from Ivan Reitman’s 1984 classic.

  Dana Barrett appears in her transformed guise beneath the towering Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, joined by Slimer, the Library Ghost, Louis Tully, Janine Melnitz and a Terror Dog. The Ghostbusters firehouse HQ and Ecto-1 complete the design, while streams of glowing proton energy and the vivid Ghostbusters title give the artwork tremendous movement and colour.

  Produced as a high-quality giclée print, this example is hand-numbered #36 from a limited edition of only 84. Presented rolled and remaining in excellent condition, it makes a superb display piece for collectors of “Ghostbusters” , alternative movie posters and 1980s cult cinema.

  Trivia: On the set, Dan Aykroyd referred to the “Slimer” ghost as the ghost of John Belushi, with Slimer’s gluttonous eating based on Belushi’s cafeteria scene in National Lampoon’s Animal House.

  What is Giclee ?

  Derived from the French term gicler – meaning ‘to squirt or spray’, the term describes a printing process whereby microscopic dots of pigment-based ink are sprayed onto archival-quality paper to ensure the fidelity of a limited edition print to an original artwork.

  The richness, accuracy and depth of colour is thanks to the method’s potential to achieve a huge colour gamut (the spectrum of colours distinguishable by the human eye). Unlike the four tones used in lithography, giclées often use five: light cyan, cyan, light magenta, yellow and black.

  Fantastic for reproductions which require maximum detail, giclées are most commonly found on watercolour paper or canvas, but can also be created on glass. Different types of paper will produce different effects. Matte paper works well behind glass due its lack of reflectivity, whilst the shine of a glossy finish can give an artwork a brighter appearance.

  “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” is one of the many major big screen movies delayed by the Covid 19 Pandemic and is currently scheduled for a November 2021 release. This first Advance British UK quad was printed (and dated) 2020 and was issued to accompany the first Trailer (link below); both feature the iconic ‘Ecto-1’. Designed by creative agency BOND it’s a marvellous nostalgia piece evoking great memories for fans of the original. Originally rolled (as issued) this superb unrestored example displays to excellent effect with minimal age and wear and represents a fine item of collectable film movie memorabilia for an amazing sequel to one the best movies to come out of the 80’s.

  Trivia: Director Jason Reitman appeared in Ghostbusters II (1989) as the kid who tells Ray that according to his dad, the Ghostbusters are “full of crap”.

  The Exorcist (Signed)

  “Something beyond comprehension is happening to a little girl on this street, in this house. A man has been called for as a last resort to try and save her. That man is THE EXORCIST !”

  Hand-signed by Linda Blair, who has added her character name ‘Regan’ and the annotation ‘Sweet Dreams’.

  Perhaps one of the most defining images in cinematic history and certainly up there with Karloff’s Frankenstein monster as the most memorable of the horror genre – Linda Blair as the possessed Regan.  This alternative movie poster by horror artist supreme, Graham Humphreys for William Friedkin’s Oscar winning horror masterpiece “The Exorcist” is a striking example of horror artwork, featuring some incredible characterisations and an amazing colour palette – from orange to sickly green/grey. The limited edition fine art print offered here  has been signed by the artist, Humphreys and hand-numbered #9 from a print run of only 59 and in addition hand-signed by Linda Blair, who has added her character name ‘Regan’ and the annotation ‘Sweet Dreams’. All of Blair’s handwriting has been written in silver ink pen again a dark background and absolutely pops from the imagery. The poster was signed by Blair at Horrorfied 2, Crawley, Surrey on March 28th. Hugely oversubscribed, this scarce print was sold out prior to release and presents and displays to excellent effect. Originally flat and unfolded (as issued) this beautiful example represents a hard to find piece of cinematic horror memorabilia for this much revered and hugely influential Oscar winning horror movie.

  Trivia: When Regan projectile vomits at Father Karras, the vomit was intended to hit Jason Miller in the chest, but the plastic tubing misfired, hitting him in the face. His reaction of shock and disgust while wiping away the vomit is genuine, and Miller admitted in interviews that he was very angered by this mistake.
