“The ultimate weapons of the future have just declared war… on each other.”
One of the great action movies of the 90s, Roland Emmerich’s “Universal Soldier” saw genetically modified super soldiers (did I mention they’d been brought back from the dead?) Jean-Claude Van Damme Damme and Dolph Lungren battle it out in a series of spectacularly choreographed action set-pieces. Originally rolled (as issued) this eye-catching one-sheet film poster presents and displays to excellent effect and represents a truly desirable piece of sci-fi, action cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The idea of the eyepieces that the Universal Soldiers wear in the movie was borrowed from Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987). In that series, The Borg, humans and other alien species that have been assimilated into cyborg creatures wear eyepieces. In the film, the Universal Soldiers are deceased soldiers who have been reanimated and brought back as cyborg commandos.

One of the most defining cinematic images of the 20th century, Saul Bass’ spiral poster design for this classic 1958 Alfred Hitchcock thriller “Vertigo” has become synonymous with the film and as a poster design a hard act to follow. So it’s a tribute to artist Kevin Tong for creating imagery equally as memorable. Released in 2023 by Mad Duck this high quality limited edition art print is hand-numbered #46/250 and features an incredible blue/green colour palette. “Vertigo” was the the fourth and final time that James Stewart would work with Alfred Hitchcock, with both turning in career-defining performances and is a movie that consistently makes the shortlist for ‘Greatest Movie of All-Time’ with the influential movie magazine ‘Sight & Sound’ making it their Number One film of all time. Movie posters don’t really get anymore entertaining or colourful than this; complete set of ALL three ‘only in cinemas’ one-sheet design posters for Patty Jenkins’ DC Extended Universe super heroine sequel “Wonder Woman 1984”. Designed by the WORKS ADV and BOND the three different designs are all equally impressive. The Covid 19 pandemic has wreaked havoc with cinema releases, with this set being all first printings carrying the ‘only in cinemas’ tagline and issued before the December 25th HBO Max screening announcement that the movie would premiere on a TV streaming service simultaneous to a theatrical release. Originally rolled (as issued) they look stunning and displays to superb effect, perfectly suited to this portrait format. Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) takes centre stage in each and is featured in her ‘regular’ costume and her Gold Armour costume first introduced in the comic book series “Kingdom Come” by Alex Ross offset against a vibrant WW84 background of dayglo neon static colours. Very cool and very collectable this set of three cinema posters represent a fantastic item of ‘modern’ super-hero movie memorabilia.
