“Squid Game” was a un-precedented cult success on its Netflix release in 2021 with Hwang Dong-hyuk‘s psychological mystery suspense series going on to be one of the most watched TV series of all-time. It’s something of a collage of colorful imagery, fragmented shots, quirky music, strange characters, bizarre situations, and violent, gory action – it perfectly suits the artistic style of one of my favourite alternative movie poster artists – Ise Ananphada. This limited edition, hand-numbered (#52/110) screen print for “Squid Game” is one of the best (if not the best) for the title and has been created using Thirteen (13) different coloured inks printed onto Fedrigoni Sirio Color Rough Milkshake art paper. Awarded poster of the week for 30th August 2023 by the influential and well respected alternative movie poster website Expressobeans this rolled (as issued) fine art print from 2020 is a real eye-catcher that looks and displays to excellent effect and represents an extremely hard to find, collectable item of memorabilia from a multi-international award winning Korean production.
Trivia: The worker jumpsuits were chosen for their loose design to mask the gender of the workers and to create a colony vibe to the setting. The soldiers’ masks were designed specifically to resemble the face of an ant.

It is an epic motion picture that will stand the test of time for years and years to come. The ‘cast’ style UK quad film poster by Concept Arts that accompanied this 2019 release of “The Irishman” was equally as striking as it features three of the greatest actors of any generation – Robert De Niro, Al Pacino & Joe Pesci. The originally rolled (as issued), unrestored example offered here has minimal handling and displays & presents to excellent effect with dark unfaded background and outstanding character imagery. Very scarce with a incredibly low print run, as it was essentially a Netflix streaming service movie which received a limited cinematic release so it would qualify as a contender for Academy Award recognition and was only shown in a handful of independent cinemas with no general release. A must have title for the serious collector or fan.
Trivia: “I heard you paint houses” were the first words Jimmy Hoffa ever spoke to Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran. On The Tonight Show, Robert De Niro remarked that the term, along with “I also do my own carpentry work,” refer to both the hit and the clean-up.

Released on Netflix in July 2023 “WHAM!” is one the channel’s most streamed programmes, documenting (largely through the scrap book diaries kept by Andrew Ridgeley’s Mum) the effervescent rise of the happy go lucky pop duo and the emergence of George into a global solo singer/song-writer superstar. Prior to the film’s Netflix release it was screened for one-night only on June 27th in only a small number of select cinemas throughout the UK. The poster (a UK quad) used to accompany and promote this release features the imagery of photographer Chris Craymer. His photograph perfectly captures the charm, bubbliness, friendship and true happiness of the duo as they were starting out on their musical journey. Incredibly rare, due to the very limited number of cinemas showing the movie, this originally rolled (as issued) example displays superbly and represents a fantastic and hugely collectable item of music and movie memorabilia.
Trivia: “Wham! was one of the most commercially successful pop acts of the 1980s They ended up selling more than 30 million certified records worldwide between 1982 to 1986.”
