In 2014 the BFI revealed a special collection of one night only screenings celebrating all things Sci-Fi. Many masterpieces were screened during the event including Cameron’s iconic “The Terminator”. The film marked its 30th anniversary at the event with Francis’ original Quad design reworked by the Steve Crisp IX Gallery depicting Arnie with spiky hair.     Extremely rare, “The Terminator” original Czech poster (landscape format) movie poster from the 1992 re-release in Czechoslovakia. Re-released just two years after the first “Terminator” movie was screened in 1990, this release coincided with “Terminator 2: Judgement Day” premiering in Czechoslovakia. It actually features Arnold Schwarzenegger in T2 costume on the right half of the poster with photos of the original “Terminator” cast on the left. Originally flat/unfolded this displays very well and would make for a fantastic addition to any collection or as a one-off display piece. An eye-catching design and a fine piece of country unique artwork that represents highly collectible movie poster memorabilia for one of cinema’s greatest movies of all time and a pop culture phenomenon that blasted then newcomer’s Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s career into orbit and made James Cameron a Hollywood name.

    An outstanding modern example of a true British horror classic. An original 2012 Country of Origin British UK quad film poster for Hammer Films’ horror “The Woman in Black”. Unlike the computer generated, photoshopped posters that accompanied the initial release, renowned horror illustrator Graham Humphreys was commissioned by Momentum and Hammer Films, to create an exclusive ‘old school’ horror poster for certain limited screenings as part of the Hammer Classic Film archive collection. These examples, all personally hand-signed by Humphreys are incredibly scarce and highly sought after by poster and Hammer collectors. Presented in original, unrestored condition this rolled (as issued) poster displays and presents to excellent effect that due to the very limited print run represents a sought item of horror movie memorabilia.

    Trivia: The Woman in Black (2012) was originally passed by the British Board of Film Classification with a 15 certificate. However the distributor, Momentum Pictures, suggested several cuts and the BBFC agreed to a lower 12A certificate. Despite this, it was this film which was most complained about to the BBFC in 2011.

    Long before social media, yes there was a time before Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc or immediate online news updates then the cinema and TV was the go to place to see the Mexico 1970 Football World Cup Tournament “The World at Their Feet”. With a limited number of matches being shown on terrestrial TV (only 3 channels in the UK) it was down to the cinema to show the edited highlights of what has been dubbed ‘the greatest of all the World Cups’. Released in cinemas shortly after the event (with a subtle backstory involving a young fan) it was shown in vibrant glorious colour and not only featured the historic final which Brazil won 4-1 but also match highlights and player and fan interviews from the whole tournament. If you are football fan and love your international tournaments then this is the greatest sports documentary ever made and you will not find a better example than this. Fantastic graphics and clever design and presented in very good condition this originally folded (as issued) unrestored 1970 British UK quad film poster displays and presents to excellent effect and represents a truly scarce and nostalgic piece of cinematic football memorabilia.

    John Carpenter’s tale of alien occupation is part horror, part Sci-Fi and part social satire, all viewed through dark sunglasses of Roddy Piper . This original They Live movie poster is probably the scarcest of all the John Carpenter paper from the series of four (Escape From New York, Prince of Darkness, The Fog & They Live) 2018 remastered re-releases and a very rare find in such excellent condition as offered here…The original 2018 Japanese B2 film poster for John Carpenter’s  They Live was originally rolled (as issued) & presents in exceptional original unrestored condition with great detailed artwork (unique to the Japanese re-release, as the other posters produced for these releases all feature new re-imaging artwork by Matt Ferguson) & strong vibrant colours.  Extremely rare this example represents very collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from one of the greatest and most influential director’s ever working in  the sci-fi / horror / action genre.

    John Carpenter’s tale of alien occupation “They Live” is part horror, part sci-fi and part social satire, all viewed through dark sun-glasses of Nada played by ex-professional wrestler Roddy Piper. Considered one of Carpenter’s best it was one of four seminal movies by the director re-released by Studio Canal in 2018, remastered in 4K, with the others being “Escape From New York”, “Prince of Darkness” and “The Fog”. All four movies had a strictly limited cinematic release and were accompanied a newly designed poster campaign (quads and one-sheets) by leading artist Matt Ferguson. Ferguson’s unique artistic style is evident throughout the four, each with its very own unique colour palette. A number of these full-size 30″ x 40″ UK quad styles were also released as a limited edition art print by Vice Press. Identical to the cinematic quad, in fact exactly the same – same paper, printer etc these were issued as timed releases each signed and hand-numbered by Matt Ferguson. Offered here is one of these signed art prints numbered #48 from a print run of only 216. Originally rolled (as issued) it presents in excellent condition. A cool, cult poster that represents very collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from one of the greatest and most influential director’s who is still actively working in the film industry.

    Trivia: Artist Shepard Fairey credits the film as a major source of inspiration, sharing a similar logo to his “OBEY” campaign. “They Live was…the basis for my use of the word ‘obey’,” Fairey said. “The movie has a very strong message about the power of commercialism and the way that people are manipulated by advertising.”
