  • Andy Warhol's Frankenstein Movie Poster

    Andy Warhol’s Frankenstein

    £225.00

“To know death, Otto, you have to f**k life…in the gall bladder!”

Although the Andy Warhol name is only referred to in the title for Paul Morrissey’s 1974 shock horror “Andy Warhol’s Frankenstein” (also released as “Flesh for Frankenstein”) it cannot be said that the accompanying movie poster (not by Warhol) for this Bryanston Pictures release is not impressive.  A clever, stylish design with FRANKENSTEIN apparently written in blood over an open cut then sewn together in thick black thread…certainly memorable. Any art or memorabilia with a Warhol connection is very collectable and this original 1974 US one sheet is no exception. Presented unrestored, in original folded (as issued) condition this lovely example displays very well and represents  a fine piece of original movie memorabilia.

Trivia: The film was shot with a 3D technique called Spacevision. Unlike other 3D films that usually required red and blue glasses, this one required polarized glasses with one lens slightly shifted, which allowed full colors in the film. The 3D effects were mostly pronounced in the center of the screen.

  • TREMORS Video Movie Poster

    TREMORS

    £95.00

“They say there’s nothing new under the sun. But under the ground…The monster movie that breaks new ground.”

One of the stand out films of the early 90’s & certainly one of the best and most eye-catching marketing campaigns. “TREMORS” is the kind of movie that can’t be placed in a certain genre. It’s a little bit of everything; horror, comedy, action, adventure and a fine homage to 50’s B-Movie sci-fi/horror flicks. This British video poster for Ron Underwood’s “TREMORS” is genuinely scarce and a hard poster to track down. Much like “The Shawshank Redemption” it is one of those film’s that hugely benefitted from the ‘home’ video market going on to achieve huge popularity and cult status, resulting in (to date) four sequels and a TV series. Offered here is an incredibly rare rolled (as issued) British video poster from first year of release, 1990. Original and unrestored it presents to excellent effect with deep bright colour tones and incredible (with a tip of the hat to “Jaws”) ‘creature’ artwork… A modern genre classic that represents a superb piece of original and highly collectable movie memorabilia.

Trivia: Prior to the film’s release, Kevin Bacon felt that the film was a career low: “I broke down and fell to the sidewalk, screaming to my pregnant wife, ‘I can’t believe I’m doing a movie about underground worms!'”

  • Where The Wild Things Are

    Where The Wild Things Are

    £75.00

“There’s One In All Of Us”

One of my favourite advertising campaigns of 2009 was the series of posters that accompanied Spike Jonze’s adaption of Maurice Sendak’s Children’s fantasy story “Where The Wild Things Are”. With artwork & design by Mojo this original UK quad film poster is the Advance “Coming Soon” Teaser style. Originally rolled this displays superbly with truly stunning ‘monster’ imagery.

Trivia: The creatures are being portrayed by actors in six- to eight-foot tall costumes with some additional animatronics and computer-generated faces. The costumes were created by The Jim Henson Company, who is responsible for the Muppets and the creatures from Labyrinth (1986) and The Dark Crystal.
