John Landis’ “An American Werewolf in London” is one of the best werewolf movies ever made, full of dark humour and gory thrills. As most people know, this has one of the best human/werewolf transformation scenes in cinematic history. Unlike modern monster/horror movies of today, this film has no CGI or computer-aided special effects; what you see on the screen is a physical production made piece for which Rick Baker won the Oscar. This signed Artist Proof (AP) alternative movie poster by Graham Humphreys is a proper horror poster. Humphreys has cleverly included all the main characters, David (Naughton) becoming the werewolf and the suitably named ‘Slaughtered Lamb’. Presented in excellent condition this rolled (as issued) example displays superbly and is an impressive piece of horror poster artwork and is a hugely desirable alternative movie poster.

Trivia: Rick Baker claimed to have been disappointed by the amount of time spent shooting the face changing shot for the transformation after having spent months working on the mechanism. John Landis only required one take lasting about seven seconds. Baker felt he had wasted his time until seeing the film with an audience that applauded during that one seven second shot.

Long before Tim Burton re-invented him, Chris Chris Nolan re-imagined him and Ben Affleck played him as an older more mature Caped Crusader there was BATMAN 1960’s style, as the decade’s most popular TV show was bat-ransported to this alternative movie poster. “Batman ’66” by Matt Ferguson. A truly feel good, nostalgic poster with classic Batmobile imagery. Ferguson’s artwork perfectly encapsulates the swinging 60’s vibe and light-hearted tone of the film. His design and layout is superb featuring perhaps the most famous and recognisable Batmobile with the Batcave acting as the backdrop. It is a WOW factor poster. Released by Vice Press and Bottleneck Gallery in 2020 this limited edition art print is hand-numbered #169/200 that presents and displays near perfectly and represents a fantastic piece of collectable movie memorabilia. I am a huge Batman fan (all incarnations) and this is one of my favourite Batman posters.
Trivia: The Batmobile was a customized 1955 Lincoln Futura, which had been used in It Started with a Kiss (1959). According to George Barris, five Batmobiles were made during the series.

“Riddle me this, riddle me that, who’s afraid of the big, black bat?“
Riddle me this – how can you get the most colourful Batmobile yet in your living room? Simple, purchase this incredible, hand-numbered (#96/275) screen print from Matt Ferguson for Joel Schumacher’s 1995 comic book caper “Batman Forever”. Ferguson’s ongoing Batman and Batmobile series continues, and this time, he’s got Seal’s Kiss from a Rose blaring out of the Bat-stereo. “Batman Forever” is a visually spectacular movie combining a colourful cast, and a bonkers plot that while divisive, is undoubtedly wildly entertaining and whilst Jim Carrey is no Jack Nicholson, his Riddler steals the show from one-time Batman – Val KIlmer. Ferguson’s Batmobile series focuses on Bruce Wayne’s incredible rides from throughout Batman’s history, and he’s added a ton of fun details and Easter eggs from both the film and general Ferguson lore. Originally rolled (as issued) this displays to excellent effect with the day glo, neon coloured inks adding a real kinetic energy to the imagery and represents a truly eye-catching alternative movie poster from one of the most memorable Batman movies.
Trivia: This is the first movie to refer to Batman as “The Dark Knight”.

You probably couldn’t find better movie from the 1980’s that introduces such an iconic cult character in Kurt Russell’s Snake Plissken (criminally only used in one more movie) or sums up the period quite like John Carpenter’s quintessential sci-fi actioner “Escape From New York”. Carpenter always a well regarded and popular film maker has enjoyed a huge renaissance in more recent years so it was no surprise that this title was one of four seminal movies by the director re-released by Studio Canal in 2018, remastered in 4K, with the others being “They Live”, “Prince of Darkness” and “The Fog”. All four movies had a strictly limited cinematic release and were accompanied a newly designed poster campaign (quads and one-sheets) by leading artist Matt Ferguson. Ferguson’s unique artistic style is evident throughout the four, each with its very own unique colour palette. A number of these full-size 30″ x 40″ UK quad styles were also released as a limited edition art print by Vice Press. Identical to the cinematic quad, in fact exactly the same – same paper, printer etc these were issued as timed releases each signed and hand-numbered by Matt Ferguson. Offered here is one of these signed art prints numbered #48 from a print run of only 231. Originally rolled (as issued) it presents in excellent condition. A cool, cult poster that represents very collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from one of the greatest and most influential director’s who is still actively working in the film industry.
Trivia: The model of the city set was repainted and reused for Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner.

Designed by Territory Studios advertising agency the movie poster imagery that accompanied the 2016 BFI release was equally as memorable. The imagery of the three stars (De Niro, Pesci & Liotta) accompanied by one of their key scenes makes for a stylish design with the red filter particularly effective. The BFI are renowned for producing excellent and ‘fresh’ poster designs for their limited run releases and this is considered one of the best. As with all BFI screenings they are very limited (sometimes only a single showing) with an incredibly small print run. making the posters very hard to come by. This originally rolled (as issued) example displays & presents to fine effect. Hugely desirable and a must have title for the serious poster collector or Goodfellas fan it represents a premium piece of quality collectable movie memorabilia.

“Prince of Darkness” sees John Carpenter not just in the director’s chair, he wrote the soundtrack and also the screenplay under the pseudonym Martin Quatermass, which is a direct homage to Bernard Quatermass, the lead character in Hammer’s film and TV series that started with The Quatermass Experiment and that features several elements in common with Carpenter’s story. The film is the second in what the director calls his ‘Apocalypse Trilogy’ that started with The Thing (1982) and ended with In the Mouth of Madness (1994) and is the result of Carpenter’s interest in theoretical physics and atomic theory as well as the idea of an ultimate evil or ‘anti-god’ combined with the physics-based concept of matter and anti-matter. “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is a new concept for the Star Wars franchise originally created by George Lucas and set before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. The first in a series of ‘standalone’ films, introducing a new group of heroes (& a well known villain) as the Rebellion makes a risky move to steal the plans to the Death Star, setting up the epic saga to follow. Released as a private commission in conjunction with Acme Archives in 2024, this Limited Edition fine art print for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” features beautifully illustrated artwork with an incredible colour palette by Kwow. The hero of this chapter, Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) takes prominence supported by the supporting cast, some familiar Star Wars mainstays and the phenomenally huge Death Star dominating the background, hinting at the enormous task the “rebellion” has ahead of them. Hand-numbered #61 from a print run of only 100 and selling out immediately on release, this represents a rare and desirable example of original Star Wars movie memorabilia from what has become one of the most collectable and popular modern movie franchises.

Trivia: Darth Vader’s appearance in this film is meticulously patterned after his look in the original Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977). While Vader’s chest plate is uncovered in Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983), his costume initially had his Sith robes draped over his shield, as well as red lenses in the eye holes of the mask. Considering this film takes place mere days before the original film, the costume designers recreated Vader’s look down to the last detail.

One of the greatest and most influential gangster movies of all time and this 2022 limited edition art print by Matt Ferguson and Florey is one of the best alternative movie posters produced for Brian De Palma’s “Scarface”. Hand-signed by both artists this artist proof edition released by Vice Press features a key scene from the movie as Tony Montana sits brooding in his darkened study awaiting the violent and bloody onslaught he knows is coming with the rug cleverly illustrated to resemble a river of blood. A fantastic example of highly desirable movie memorabilia, that’s very cool and looks incredible.
Trivia: The international corporation set up by Saddam Hussein to launder money from his various enterprises was called Montana Management after the Scarface (1983) main character.
