    Terminator 2: Judgement Day

    £395.00

“He Said He’d Be Back…and He Certainly is !”

Sci-fi movies can rarely be made in such way that can be looked at as works of art. This is one of the few exceptions. The prediction of judgment day with Hamilton watching a playground full of kids be burnt to the ground is an absolute brilliant portrayal of Armageddon. The theme that men will destroy themselves is also shown throughout the movie also and is even said by The Terminator…“It’s in your nature to destroy yourselves”. This brings the movie to a whole new level of sci-fi and one of the most sought after of titles by collectors of the genre and Schwarzenegger’s vast legion of fans. Offered here is a scarce large format Japanese B1 movie poster (equivalent to a standard one-sheet) for James Cameron’s sci-fi, time travel, shoot ’em up uber-actioner “Terminator 2: Judgement Day”. This example is often referred to as the ‘Smoke’ version featuring Schwarzenegger’s Terminator emerging from the smoke. In a design that’s unique to Japan the largely black and white imagery features Arnie’s eyes finished in a blazing red, leaving you in no doubt he is a Terminator. One of the most influential film of the past 25+ years with ground breaking CGI special effects and spectacular action set pieces. A very hard film poster to find in this fine unrestored rolled (as issued) condition that represents an impressive and stylish item of original cinematic movie memorabilia.

Trivia: Given Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s US $15 million salary, and his total of seven hundred words of dialogue, he was paid $21,429 per word. “Hasta la vista, baby” cost $85,716.

Extremely rare, “The Terminator” original Czech Flyer (horizontal) movie poster from first year of release in Czechoslovakia 1990. Featuring Terminator Arnold Schwarzenegger wielding his laser sighted handgun from the famous ‘Tech Noir’ disco scene. Originally flat/unfolded this displays to excellent effect and would make for a fantastic addition to any collection or as a one-off display piece. Truly impressive eye catching design and a fine piece of country unique artwork that represents highly collectible movie poster memorabilia for one of cinema’s greatest movies of all time and a pop culture phenomenon that blasted then new comer’s Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s career into orbit and made James Cameron a Hollywood name.

Trivia: Shots through the Terminator’s vision shows a dump of the ROM assembler code for the Apple II operating system. If you own an Apple II, enter at the basic prompt: ] call -151 * p This will give you the terminator view. Other code visible is written in COBOL.

Released by the artist Tyler Stout as a private commission in 2020 and only available to order for one day (24th September) this seven-colour screen print looks spectacular. Unmistakably a Tyler Stout offering, Stout has hand-signed and numbered each print (#2698/3600). A labour of love for the artist who worked on all aspects involved in bringing this to print: from design, colour combinations and even obtaining the publishing rights. The Stout had this to say about the project “I’ve found it works best to do stuff for movies you’re a fan of, movies that have stood the test of time, that are considered classics, stuff that inspires you”. A stunning and stylish alternative movie poster for a film that launched the Hollywood careers of James Cameron & of course Arnie, in his most defining role that represents highly collectable movie memorabilia for one of cinema’s greatest movies and a cultural phenomenon.

Trivia: Arnold Schwarzenegger originally wanted to play Kyle Reese. But James Cameron had a different idea and saw Schwarzenegger in the title role of The Terminator and Cameron said to Schwarzenegger, “This movie is not about the hero. It’s about The Terminator.”
