BLT Communications LLC pulled out all the stops when they designed the marketing campaign posters for Joss Whedon’s blockbuster “Avengers”. This original 2012 country of origin one-sheet for Marvel’s all action super hero romp is certainly impressive as all the heroes are beautifully realised; Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow and Nick Fury stand proud and battle ready in a ravaged New York. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks stunning and displays to excellent and impressive effect. One of the best looking posters to date for any of the prolific Marvel Studios releases with spectacular super-hero imagery that represents a fine piece of collectable modern cinema movie memorabilia. If movie posters follow the trend of the comics, then ‘key’ and first appearances will become equally significant…this features the first appearances of Thanos.
Trivia: Due to this movie’s record-breaking success at the box office, it made Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Downey Jr., and Scarlett Johansson three of the top ten highest grossing actors and actress of all time at second, fifth, and tenth respectively.

Posters for Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise have always been of the highest quality and Ignition Print have certainly not disappointed with this iconic design for the trilogy’s 2012 finale “The Dark Knight Rises”. In the comics Bane famously broke Batman’s back – Does the shattered Bat cowl tease that this time he goes one further ? Dark and stylish. A foretaste of things to come…A great way to use a teaser poster. Enigmatic and stylish, and in this Japanese B1 format truly impressive. The Japanese lettering perfectly suits the imagery, totally enhancing the overall effect. The Japanese paper is slightly thicker than used on US or British examples and this produces a sharper, detailed print of real quality. Originally rolled (as issued) this displays to excellent effect and represents a superb Batman image from the climactic instalment of Nolan’s award winning trilogy.

Posters for Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise have always been of the highest quality and the creative agencies of Ignition and LA have certainly not disappointed with these three one-sheet character designs – Batman, Catwoman and Bane for the climactic chapter for Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, “The Dark Knight Rises”. As Gotham City becomes a Bane induced war-zone the Dark Knight aided by the enigma that is Catwoman stand ready to defend his City. Striking and stylish, these originally rolled (as issued) examples display to excellent effect and provide the perfect triptych of Batman character images from the final instalment of Nolan’s award winning trilogy.

Posters for Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise have always been of the highest quality and when independent publishers Mondo asked acclaimed Batman comic book artist Jock to design something special he didn’t disappoint. Jock’s imagery is stunning as a giant image of The Dark Knight composed of bats is seen looming over Gotham City. The minimal use of colour with just black, white and light grey being used only enhances the overall impact and makes for a nice change with most Batman imagery opting for the more typical dark coloured inks and a shadowy style. Of particular note and although a small detail (and easily overlooked) is the lettering, credits and logos as these are all hand drawn by Jock in a style that mimics the original typography. This Limited Edition, Hand Numbered (#16/375) edition for “The Dark Knight Rises” was only ever made available through Mondo at the 2012 San Diego Comic Con. Original rolled it is presented in excellent original condition. Jock, is arguably one of the most popular and talented comic book and poster artists, whose work sees some incredible aftermarket prices and is also some of the best and most innovative to be offered for sale.

“You’ll Die Laughing !”
A striking movie poster that’s a well fitting design for this dark comedic horror “Stitches”. Designed by creative arts agency OC this British UK quad from 2012 is a great looking poster focuses on Ross Noble in full clown make-up as the dis-figured titular serial killer ‘Stitches’. A very creepy and eye-catching image. Although designed to look like a battered and distressed, it is printed on a heavier stock paper (which enhances and gives the muted colours a real depth) it actually presents near perfectly being originally rolled (as issued) and is genuinely scarce with very limited showings in a small number of ‘art-house’ & ‘specialist’ cinemas. A memorable piece of ‘modern’ horror film memorabilia that is hugely collectable encompassing not just movie fans but also the horror art marketplace and fans of the comedian Ross Noble.
Trivia: The medication that Tommy takes to relieve anxiety is called “Hypnocil”, the same name as the medication used to suppress dreams in the Nightmare on Elm Street series.
