An alternative movie poster for James Cameron’s “Aliens”, that is unquestionably one of the best (if not the best) for the title. Adam Stothard’s limited edition (hand-numbered #65/85) art print could be accused of giving away much of the film’s climax but Ripley’s ‘get away from her you bitch’ is cinematic legend. This fine art giclee print is printed on Hahnemühle photo rag metallic paper and screen printed using a gloss enamel varnish Layer (over the Queen Mother & title) is absolutely stunning, focussing on the ferocious battle between Ripley (using the Power Loader) against the Xenomorph Queen. “Aliens” has gone on to become a benchmark for the sci-fi actioner. The alternative movie poster offered here is from 2023 and presents to excellent effect in original unrestored, rolled (as issued) condition that represents a fine piece of movie memorabilia and artwork from a truly influential movie that changed the face of the modern sci-fi action movie forever.

What is Giclee ?
Derived from the French term gicler – meaning ‘to squirt or spray’, the term describes a printing process whereby microscopic dots of pigment-based ink are sprayed onto archival-quality paper to ensure the fidelity of a limited edition print to an original artwork.
The richness, accuracy and depth of colour is thanks to the method’s potential to achieve a huge colour gamut (the spectrum of colours distinguishable by the human eye). Unlike the four tones used in lithography, giclées often use five: light cyan, cyan, light magenta, yellow and black.
Fantastic for reproductions which require maximum detail, giclées are most commonly found on watercolour paper or canvas, but can also be created on glass. Different types of paper will produce different effects. Matte paper works well behind glass due its lack of reflectivity, whilst the shine of a glossy finish can give an artwork a brighter appearance.

Zombies, Nazis, stranded holiday makers and Peter Cushing…if this sounds like your kind of fun then you probably are a fan of Ken Wiederhorn’s enjoyable horror romp “Almost Human” (AKA Shock Waves). Nostalgic 70’s hokum that is complemented by a first rate film poster as the SS ‘Death Corps’ take centre stage in a great example of horror artwork…good use of bold day-glo colours in the title and striking well balanced design. Certainly a rare find and even more so in such excellent high grade condition. Originally rolled (as issued) this 1977 UK quad film poster is offered in superb unrestored condition and presents and displays to excellent effect and represents a rare piece of hugely collectable original 70’s horror movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The zombies weren’t originally supposed to be wearing goggles but when extra Max Trumpton returned from recent glaucoma surgery in protective eyewear the director liked the ‘look’ so much he instructed the wardrobe department to make a pair for each zombie.

An all-action sci-fi vista of a film poster for Glen A. Larson’s ‘epic’ “Battlestar Galactica”. Receiving a full cinematic release it was an edited together version of three TV shows released in the USA largely to cash in, on the still very popular ‘Star Wars’ phenomena. With some colourful, dynamic sci-fi artwork by Robert Tanenbaum (a homage to Tom Chantrell’s famous art for ‘Star Wars’ perhaps ?) this original 1978 country of origin US one-sheet movie poster is presented in original unrestored, folded (as issued) condition. It displays to impactful effect with light age and handling wear; colours are deep and unfaded with some truly rip roaring laser blasting, robot, space ship adventure imagery. A cool item that represents a fantastic piece of very collectable and desirable original movie memorabilia for a much loved and hugely popular film and TV franchise.
Trivia: John Dykstra, who worked on Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) used much of the technology developed for ILM in this movie, including his motion control camera, the so-called “Dykstraflex”.

Largely due to the “Star Wars” effect and the huge global popularity of the “Dungeons & Dragons” role playing game, the 1980’s truly was the decade of the mystical sword and sorcery fantasy. Don Coscarelli’s “Beastmaster” has stood the test of time well and is fondly remembered with a large and loyal fanbase. Boasting some of the best fantasy art seen on a movie poster by the advertising agency FEREF (Eddie Paul) with finished art byJosh Kirby this original 1982 UK quad for “Beastmaster” certainly impresses. Scarce and hard to find in this high grade condition, this originally folded (as issued) example looks fantastic and presents in exceptional condition that represents a fine piece of hugely collectable original 80’s sci-fi fantasy movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Director Don Coscarelli decided to set the story in a sort of Bronze Age milieu because he was a long time fan of Steve Reeves, Ray Harryhausen, and sword and sandal flicks.

Adapted from Philip K. Dick’s novel ‘Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?’, Ridley Scott’s “Blade Runner” iconic dystopian classic is unquestionably one of the greatest sci-fi films ever made. Re-issued several times in various formats & ‘cuts’ this is a rare original first release 1982 UK Quad country of origin movie poster for Scott’s hugely influential science fiction blockbuster. Although critically acclaimed on initial release, commercially the film never really proved popular with the cinema going public resulting in any paper from the first 1982 release extremely scarce, making this Jouineau Bourduge film poster a very nice find indeed. Totally original & unrestored the 1982 UK quad film poster offered here is in excellent, original folded (as issued) condition. It displays and presents superbly with just very minor handling wear and represents a fine piece of cinematic memorabilia for one of the most influential film’s not just of the sci-fi genre but modern culture in general.
Trivia: This movie suffered at the box office because it opened at the same time as E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982). The Thing (1982) suffered a similar fate due to the same reason. Although there was praise for the visual style, word of mouth about this movie’s slow pace and bleak themes quickly caused a decrease in attendance ratings. Both movies later reached cult status and received critical praise.

Adapted from Philip K. Dick’s novel ‘Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?’, Ridley Scott’s “Blade Runner” iconic dystopian classic is unquestionably one of the greatest sci-fi films ever made. So, it was no surprise a sequel was made, what was surprising was the follow-up never happened until 2017, thirty-five years after the original was released. Still, it’s fair to say the wait was worth it – “Blade Runner 2049” sees Harrison Ford reprise his role as Rick Deckard and a new Blade Runner is introduced, ‘K’ played by Ryan Gosling. It’s a visually beautiful movie with some imaginative action scenes perfectly orchestrated by director, Denis Villeneuve. The visual impact is certainly evident in the poster campaign that accompanied the release. Advertising agency WORKS ADV have produced an impressive series of posters including this amazing Advance ‘10.6.17’ US one-sheet. Produced in two versions – one with a red title and the other a blue title. For me the ‘Tiffany’ blue style (as offered here) is much more effective. This rolled (as issued) example displays and presents to excellent effect with minimal handling wear and represents an impressive piece of cinematic movie memorabilia for one of the most influential film series not just of the sci-fi genre but modern culture in general.

“A ravishing PSYCHO-FIEND with the diabolical power to turn into a GIANT DEATHSHEAD VAMPIRE feasts on the BLOOD of her Lovers before clawing them to death!”
Blood Beast Terror (1968) was a Tony Tensor, Tigon Films release – a British studio providing real competition t0 Hammer, for so long the leading horror film producer in the UK. The British poster campaign was represented by a stunningly colourful UK quad, a mixture of illustration and photo montage, with some truly gruesome imagery. Presented unrestored and in excellent original folded (as issued) condition. A personal favourite of mine and a scarce example of British horror cinematic memorabilia.
Trivia: The stage play shown in the film echoes the story of notorious grave-robbers Burke and Hare. They would be the subject of Vernon Sewell‘s next film the following year.

An eye-catching design with artwork by Lagarrigue depicting a man (Jonathan Pryce), dressed in pyjamas on a flying bed. The original 1985 country of origin UK quad film poster offered here presents to excellent effect with bright unfaded depth of colour. Originally folded (as issued) this scarce example looks fantastic and represents a fine and rare example very collectable highly desirable original movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The second in Terry Gilliam‘s “Trilogy of Imagination”. The first was Time Bandits (1981), and the third was The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988). All three movies are about escapes from an awkward, ordered society, seen through the eyes of a child, a man in his thirties, and an elderly man.
