“One person can change your life forever.”
Despite being caught in her imaginative world, Amelie (Audrey Tautou), a young waitress, decides to help people find happiness. Her quest to spread joy leads her on a journey where she finds true love. Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s is a truly heart warming cinematic experience, with the casting of Audrey Tautou as the titular Amelie or to give its full title Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amelie Poulain a masterstroke. So it’s no surprise to see her featured so prominently on the movie posters that accompanied the release in 2001. The UK quad from this first year of release was originally rolled and displays superbly – it really is a beautiful, character focused film poster that represents a fine item of cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The main colors in the film (green, yellow and red) are inspired by the paintings of the Brazilian artist Juarez Machado.

After the huge success in 1982 for the Oscar winning “An Officer and a Gentleman”, Richard Gere was a global superstar and the most bankable male actor at the box office. Paramount Pictures were quick to exploit his success and re-released (even though it was only originally released in 1980) Paul Schrader’s “American Gigolo” with the knowing tagline… “In American Gigolo Richard Gere is neither an Officer nor a Gentleman” which was adapted to run alongside the familiar imagery of the original 1980 UK quad film poster. Rare in this style, it is actually a very effective design. Originally folded (as issued) this unrestored example presents and displays very well and represents a highly desirable piece of original movie memorabilia for one of the most stylish films of the 80’s.
TRIVIA…This movie represented the Hollywood breakthrough of leading clothes designer GIORGIO ARMANI who provided the stylish clothes for Richard Gere’s well dressed male escort.
“When Smokey Sings” the hit 1987 song by ABC was inspired by the scene in the movie where Richard Gere is seen meticulously choosing what clothes to wear out.

An exceptional looking movie poster for Stanley Kubrick’s 1975 historical drama “Barry Lyndon”. With superbly detailed imagery by Richard Amsel this is the much rarer ‘full’ artwork version and perfectly suited the the British UK quad landscape format; this really is a beautifully designed poster and becoming increasingly hard to find. Originally folded (as issued) this displays superbly retaining a crispness with deep unfaded colour tones. This excellent unrestored example presents near perfectly and represents an exceptional piece of collectable original film memorabilia. Perhaps over-looked by Kubrick’s other masterpieces he made many great films – and this one is most definitely one of them!
Trivia: Stanley Kubrick‘s first movie to feature an auteur opening credit of “A film by Stanley Kubrick”. It also contains his longest on-screen credit in the end titles: “Written for the screen, produced, and directed by Stanley Kubrick.”

“The Breakfast Club” was a massive blockbuster hit when released in 1985 establishing the careers of its five stars – Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall and it has gone on to attain cult status, as one of the must watch movies of the 1980s. This original country of origin US one-sheet is from the first year of release, 1985 and was designed by the Seiniger Agency and features a fantastic cast shot. Rolled (as issued) this example presents to excellent effect that represents a fine example of rare, collectable cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The David Bowie quote at the beginning of the movie is pulled from his song “Changes”. It can be found on his 1971 album, “Hunky Dory”. Ally Sheedy (Allison Reynolds) suggested the quote to John Hughes, who liked it, and thus included it in the opening.

One of the best Richard Gere images you will see is Eric Pulford’s country unique (British) artwork for the 1983 UK quad movie poster for “Breathless”. To be fair both Gere and co-star Valerie Kaprisky (her first and only US starring role) look pretty good. The original 1983 UK quad movie poster offered here is from first year of release and displays and presents to excellent effect. Originally rolled (as issued) the colours are bright and unfaded and Pulford’s imagery dramatic and exciting. With hardly a defect of note this beautiful rolled unrestored film poster is in investment grade condition and a fine example of rare and collectable original movie memorabilia.

“Cruise like Thunder”
An eye-catching dayglo colour-palette dominates this original UK Quad movie poster for Tom Cruise’s 1990 blockbuster “Days of Thunder”. Cruise could do no wrong at the box office during this period and it’s no surprise he is featured so heavily on the global marketing campaign for the movie. With a hi-gloss finish to top things off this is a really impressive looking film poster. An original 2007 British UK quad film poster for the quintessential classic romance “Dirty Dancing”. This beautiful originally rolled example is pretty much faultless. A classic 80s poster featuring one of the decade’s most memorable and enduring images hat has been updated for the 20th Anniversary screenings., as Baby (Jennifer Grey) and Johnny (Patrick Swayze) prepare for their iconic dance routine. This Anniversary release received a very limited cinematic run, playing in only a handful of cinemas, making these posters particularly scarce. Often seen as one the THE defining and most loved movies of the 1980s it represents a fantastic piece of original movie memorabilia.
Trivia: In an interview with AFI, Swayze explained why he thought Dirty Dancing endured for so long. “It’s got so much heart, to me,” he said. “It’s not about the sensuality; it’s really about people trying to find themselves, this young dance instructor feeling like he’s nothing but a product, and this young girl trying to find out who she is in a society of restrictions when she has such an amazing take on things.”

Beautifully executed and designed poster attributed to Stephen Frankfurt and Philip Gips. One of the best sports movie posters ever created, with the complementing Style A one of the others. Here Robert Redford as Winter Olympic skier David Chappellet is depicted in full on skier pose with an almost psychedelic effect to add to the feeling of motion. Hugely effective you really can feel the speed and excitement. The original US one sheet offered here is is the rare Style B from first year of release 1969 and is presented in excellent tri-folded (as issued with no vertical centrefold) condition. Particularly sought after by skiing enthusiasts this represents a fine piece of sports / movie memorabilia that is becoming increasingly hard to find from a superior sports movie and one of the best skiing films ever made.

The style and design of this Japanese B2 example is perfectly suited by the portrait format with a marvellous full length body shot of Marianne Faithfull in leather biker suit. A fantastic looking and incredibly rare piece of British cinematic history that perfectly embodied the swinging sixties…a 1968 UK quad film poster for Jack Cardiff’s cult psychedelic ‘road’ movie “Girl on a Motorcycle”. This is an exceptional Style A example designed by John Armstrong where the content and layout is perfectly suited by the landscape format of a UK quad. With this design more commonly found with an ABC snipe running across the top image area this full bleed, all artwork style is incredibly rare and the first time we have ever offered one for sale. Marianne Faithfull really looks the part, clad in leather catsuit astride her Harley Davidson zipping through the forests of France. As you would expect from such a high grade example, colours are deep and unfaded complemented by unforgettable and sexy imagery of Faithfull.
