A scarce original Japanese B2 film poster and one of Hammer’s best for Terence Fisher’s 1967 dark metaphysical horror “Frankenstein Created Woman”…The fourth entry in Hammer’s Frankenstein canon this stunning piece is a personal favourite and featured in Marcus Hearn’s excellent book “The Art of Hammer”. Nothing But The Night

    £175.00

“The Nightmare Has Already Killed Five People – Now It’s Yours To Live !”

A great looking horror poster from the early 1970’s for Peter Sasdy’s much under rated horror thriller starring Christopher Lee & Peter Cushing. This original Nothing But The Night movie poster is from first year of release, 1972 and is a striking example of horror poster design and artwork by Vic Fair that certainly remains in the memory; a flaming star featuring a hanged man; a creepy clown with fireworks for fingers. Very rare and hard to find in such excellent original unrestored condition; the black background is a deep unfaded black whilst the coloured imagery is bright and truly stands out. This scarce, rolled (as issued) example displays and presents superbly and represents an extremely collectable piece of 1970’s British horror cinema memorabilia.

  • Satanic Rites of Dracula Movie Poster

    Satanic Rites of Dracula

    £1,595.00

“My revenge has spread over centuries and has just begun!”

The Satanic Rites of Dracula (1974) was the eighth Hammer film and the seventh and final one to feature Christopher Lee as Count Dracula and the last time Lee and Peter Cushing would star together. The British poster campaign was illustrated by Hammer’s regular artist Tom Chantrell. The green-wash background contrasts effectively with the red Day-Glo title of the film, with Lee’s Dracula the focus of attention against a London skyline featuring the familiar landmarks of Big Ben and the Post-Office Tower. Presented unrestored and in excellent original folded (as issued) condition, this originally belonged to the renowned horror historian and collector Forrest Ackerman and is accompanied by a certificate from his Estate. A personal favourite of mine and featured in Marcus Hearn’s excellent book “The Art of Hammer”. An excellent investment grade example of original rare Hammer Horror movie memorabilia.

Trivia: Count Dracula poses as a multi-millionaire who is never seen in public and never photographed. A 1970s audience would inevitably have been reminded of the eccentric and reclusive Howard Hughes.

Kiwi Kingston, played the ‘Creature’ and takes prominent position on the British film poster which provides an outstanding piece of horror artwork. As evidenced here the artistic quality of the Hammer posters used to advertise the films were of an extremely high standard setting a high benchmark for the time and the genre. Now distributed by Universal Studios, Hammer had free rein to copy elements from the Universal franchise, most noticeably the ‘Creature’s’ make-up and the laboratory sets first used in the 1930’s. The original UK quad film movie poster offered here is from first year of release 1964 and displays to excellent effect. Originally folded (as issued) it has been professionally conservation linen-backed with the fold lines flattened out (only evident on the closest of inspections) giving a rolled appearance. Trivia: To enhance the authenticity Peter Cushing, was adamant on the technical details of his performance, and always demanded the presence of technical advisors on set. During the surgical sequences, he wanted to make sure he used the scalpel correctly so… “to convince any doctors in the audience”.
