Back To The Future Part III

    £325.00

“It’s a science experiment! Stop the train just before you hit the switch track up ahead!”

The final adventure in Robert Zemeckis’ much-loved time-travel trilogy is captured in this original UK Quad cinema poster for “Back to the Future Part III”. Drew Struzan’s instantly recognisable artwork places Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd and Mary Steenburgen in Old West costume beside the time-travelling DeLorean, its wheel surrounded by flames.

The expansive star-filled background and characters’ anxious expressions perfectly complement the memorable tagline: “They’ve saved the best trip for last. But this time they may have gone too far.” Set largely in 1885, the film sends Marty McFly back to rescue Doc Brown while introducing schoolteacher Clara Clayton and bringing the trilogy’s story full circle.

The poster retains its original circular promotional printed snipe advertising the opportunity to “See Three Future”—buy or rent the first two films before seeing Part III at the cinema. Measuring approximately 30 × 40 inches, it is presented rolled and remains in excellent condition. A superb display piece for collectors of “Back to the Future”, Drew Struzan and classic feelgood adventure cinema. “Our future is whatever you make it. So make it a good one.“

Trivia: Marty uses a “Frisbie’s” pie plate to knock a gun out of Mad Dog’s hand. In 1871, the Frisbie Pie Company started in Connecticut. Their pie pans were thrown on the campus of Yale, and this eventually lead to the invention of Frisbees.

    Time After Time

    £145.00

“Imagine! A scientific genius named H.G. Wells stalks a criminal genius named Jack the Ripper across time itself, in the most ingenious thriller of our time…”

One of the best time-travel romps ever made and a personal favourite for a bit of me time “Time After Time” sees inventor and writer H.G. Wells pursue the notorious London serial killer Jack the Ripper through time from Victorian England to late 1970’s San Francisco. The British UK quad film poster that accompanied its release is a clever design from first year of release, 1979 and features a stop watch transforming into a digital clock and a top hat and tails attired Wells’ taking on the appearance of a 1970’s attired man. Originally folded (as issued) this excellent unrestored example displays superbly with only minimal age and handling wear that represents a fine item of collectable film movie memorabilia.

Trivia: A deleted scene featured Wells meeting a punk who was playing extremely loud boom-box music on a bus in San Francisco. Nicholas Meyer later reused this idea in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986).
