A personal favourite and quite simply a stunning alternative movie poster for Francis Ford Coppola’s multi award winning Vietnam war epic “Apocalypse Now” by Jock. Like something out of a widescreen images handbook, the grandiose and all-consuming art within this limited edition giclee art print for Apocalypse Now is as visually masterful as the film it depicts. Truly an impressive piece; the range of red colour tones for the sky is incredible (the photo does not do it justice). This print is both Hand-Signed and Hand-Numbered #110/150 in the bottom right corner in pencil. Originally rolled (as issued) with an amazing colour palette this outstanding example presents and displays to excellent effect and represents a beautiful alternative movie poster from one of the best artist’s currently working and the finest film’s ever made. When launched in 2015 this was a sold out, fully subscribed private commission and is rarely offered for sale on the secondary market. “Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that”
Trivia: Filming, originally scheduled for six weeks, took 16 months.
What is Giclee ?
Derived from the French term gicler – meaning ‘to squirt or spray’, the term describes a printing process whereby microscopic dots of pigment-based ink are sprayed onto archival-quality paper to ensure the fidelity of a limited edition print to an original artwork.
The richness, accuracy and depth of colour is thanks to the method’s potential to achieve a huge colour gamut (the spectrum of colours distinguishable by the human eye). Unlike the four tones used in lithography, giclées often use five: light cyan, cyan, light magenta, yellow and black.
Fantastic for reproductions which require maximum detail, giclées are most commonly found on watercolour paper or canvas, but can also be created on glass. Different types of paper will produce different effects. Matte paper works well behind glass due its lack of reflectivity, whilst the shine of a glossy finish can give an artwork a brighter appearance.

Posters for Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise have always been of the highest quality and when independent publishers Mondo asked acclaimed Batman comic book artist Jock to design something special he didn’t disappoint. Jock’s imagery is stunning as a giant image of The Dark Knight composed of bats is seen looming over Gotham City. The minimal use of colour with just black, white and light grey being used only enhances the overall impact and makes for a nice change with most Batman imagery opting for the more typical dark coloured inks and a shadowy style. Of particular note and although a small detail (and easily overlooked) is the lettering, credits and logos as these are all hand drawn by Jock in a style that mimics the original typography. This Limited Edition, Hand Numbered (#16/375) edition for “The Dark Knight Rises” was only ever made available through Mondo at the 2012 San Diego Comic Con. Original rolled it is presented in excellent original condition. Jock, is arguably one of the most popular and talented comic book and poster artists, whose work sees some incredible aftermarket prices and is also some of the best and most innovative to be offered for sale.
Trivia: As with the previous two movies, Bruce Wayne’s main car is a Lamborghini. (Batman Begins (2005): Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster, The Dark Knight (2008): Lamborghini Murciélago LP640, this movie: Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4. The name “Murciélago” means “bat” in Spanish.

“The Trick Was To Stay Alive”
John Carpenter’s masterpiece of modern horror “Halloween” was the first and by far the best of this enduring film franchise which acted as the definitive slasher flick. The artwork for any of the film poster produced are all extremely collectable and strikingly individual in design; from the ‘Jack O’Lantern’ US one sheet to the UK quad film poster featuring a screaming Jamie Lee Curtis as Michael Myers’ hand appears at the car window; all seen through an icy blue haze. Offered here is one of the best of the more modern alternative movie poster designs by the artist Tyler Stout. Stout’s unique linear style and use of autumnal colour tones makes for a truly distinctive piece. Released in 2021 as a timed limited edition of only 2,170 (this is hand-numbered #1073) it immediately became a huge fan favourite. Originally rolled, flat-unfolded (as issued) the example offered displays to exceptional effect and represents a truly outstanding and extremely desirable item of collectable John Carpenter horror movie memorabilia.
Trivia: John Carpenter considered the hiring of Jamie Lee Curtis as the ultimate tribute to Sir Alfred Hitchcock who had given her mother, Janet Leigh, legendary status in Psycho (1960) (for the same reason, Dr. Sam Loomis was named after Sam Loomis from Psycho). During the same period, Universal studio producers and director Richard Franklin were trying to enroll Jamie Lee in the new production of Psycho II (1983).

A sequel in name only as it didn’t feature Michael Myers but took a new take on the mythos as ancient witchcraft meets modern technology in the form of Silver Shamrock masks. Who better then to take on the artistic duties than the modern maestro of horror artwork – Graham Humphreys. The content and characterisations are super realistic, layout and colours perfectly balanced and a near perfect example of a re-imagined poster. Released in 2024 as an exclusive Private Commission, this strictly limited Artist Proof edition is hand-numbered AP 11/15 and signed by the artist. Immediately selling out when launched, this originally rolled, flat-unfolded (as issued) example displays to exceptional effect and represents a truly outstanding and extremely desirable item of collectable movie memorabilia with a ‘modern’ twist. Although a relatively recent release any paper for Keanu Reeves’ John Wick franchise is extremely desirable. This incredibly popular film series is always complemented by an equally incredible series of movie posters and for the 2024 re-release the acclaimed Batman and comic book artist, Jock was commissioned to create something special for the 10th Anniversary, and he has not disappointed. Offered here is the Style B, US/International one-sheet for “John Wick” which features the ‘Baba-Yaga’ imagined in Jock’s unique style. Distinctive with its bold use of red and black colour, it really is an impressive looking poster. Originally rolled (as issued) this displays to excellent effect with only very minimal handling wear. Having a very limited cinematic release of only two days this is a truly scarce item of modern original collectable movie memorabilia from one of the best action franchises in recent memory that looks very very cool !
Trivia: Keanu Reeves became so proficient in tactical training, that his instructors said he was almost TOO good, at performing many tasks, such as reloading a magazine, faster and better than professional soldiers would in live-fire combat situations.
