    James Bond: Skyfall

    £195.00

“The Walther PPK/S has a nine-millimeter short. It’s been coded to your palmprint so only you can fire it. Less of a random killing machine, more of a personal statement”

Daniel Craig’s James Bond takes centre stage in this striking original Japanese B1 cinema poster for Sam Mendes’ “Skyfall”. The stark monochrome design places Bond within the franchise’s legendary gun-barrel motif, walking forward with pistol in hand against an intensely shadowed background. Minimal Japanese typography and a restrained gold 007 logo complete the sophisticated composition.

Released during the 50th anniversary year of the Bond film series, “Skyfall”follows 007 as an attack on MI6 forces him to confront the mysterious Raoul Silva. Craig stars alongside Judi Dench, Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw, with Adele providing the Academy Award-winning title song.

At approximately 29 × 41 inches, the Japanese B1 is comparable to a conventional one sheet but is a notably rarer format for this poster. Presented rolled, as issued, and remaining in excellent condition, its iconic gun-barrel imagery has tremendous visual impact and makes a superb display piece for collectors of James Bond, Daniel Craig and modern cinema advertising.

Trivia: In fifty years of James Bond movies, this is only the second one in which Bond suffers a gunshot wound. (He was also shot in Thunderball (1965) during the Junkanoo chase.)
