  • James Bond: Diamonds Are Forever Movie Poster

    James Bond: Diamonds Are Forever

    £295.00

“The satellite is at present over… Kansas. Well, if we destroy Kansas the world may not hear about it for years. Perhaps New York, with all that smut and traffic… might give them a chance for a fresh start. Washington, DC. Perfect. Since we have not heard from them, they will hear from us.”

Loosely based on Ian Fleming’s fourth Bond novel, but featuring returning Bond villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld, “Diamonds Are Forever” was Sean Connery’s last official outing as Ian Fleming’s super agent, where he gets to romp around Amsterdam & Las Vegas. Stunning mixture of Robert McGinnis artwork and photo montage for this Japanese B2 from 1971 with a great image of Connery as Bond at the centre of the action. Presented in excellent unrestored original flat/unfolded rolled condition this presents superbly and represents a fantastic piece of collectable James Bond cinematic memorabilia from the Sean Connery era.

Trivia: Reportedly, the final scene Sir Sean Connery filmed as Bond (at least in the official film franchise) was the one in which an unconscious Bond is loaded into a coffin at the funeral home. So, Connery’s last day of playing James Bond for EON Productions was Friday, August 13, 1971.

    James Bond: Diamonds Are Forever

    £795.00

    “Diamonds Are Forever”…forever…forever…forever…”

“Diamonds Are Forever” Japanese STB/Tatekan film poster, presented in totally original unrestored condition. An absolutely beautiful 1971 original movie poster for Sean Connery’s final (official) outing as Ian Fleming’s super-spy James Bond 007 in Guy Hamilton’s “Diamonds Are Forever”Robert McGinnis was commissioned to provide the initial imagery and (in my opinion) created one of the finest Bond posters ever with the format of the Japanese tatekan my favourite way to display McGinnis’ artwork – the central figures are highlighted and the oversized 007 logo never lets you forget you are going to see a James Bond movie. McGinnis’ detailed and stylish illustrations perfectly capture the whole ‘action, adventure, glamour’ Bond  theme; pretty much the ‘perfect’ 007 poster as Bond travels the globe from Amsterdam to the casinos and neon lights of Las Vegas. Incredibly hard to source in this high grade condition, whether it’s the coloured inks or the type of paper used, the colours are incredible rich with real depth and saturation. This originally unfolded, rolled (as issued) example presents and displays to excellent effect and represents a fine example of a scarce and extremely collectable James Bond vintage movie poster.

Trivia: Sir Sean Connery made the most of his time on-location in Las Vegas: “I didn’t get any sleep at all. We shot every night, I caught all the shows and played golf all day. On the weekend I collapsed, boy, did I collapse. Like a skull with legs.” He also played the slot machines, and once delayed a scene because he was collecting his winnings.

  • Moonage Daydream Movie Poster

    Moonage Daydream

    £195.00

    “It’s not a biography. It’s a senses attack”

Undoubtedly, one of the great music biography films; David Bowie as presented by Brett Morgen in “Moonage Daydream”. Technically it’s not a biography but a loud, vivid, exploration and celebration of Bowie’s life, art, and music. Made up of clips cleverly edited together and enhanced to make this a cinematic experience. This original 2022 one-sheet designed by Empire Design and featuring an iconic Bianca Moran Parkes Bowie image is a truly great find due to the very limited cinematic release in art-house and small independent cinemas. Presented in near perfect unrestored, rolled (as issued) condition – truly stunning, and a perfect compliment to the ground breaking musician. Incredibly scarce with a very low print run this really is an exciting item of rock / movie collectible from one of the most influential icons of modern pop culture…David Bowie.

Trivia: The documentary includes a lot of David Bowie‘s unpublished personal material, including photos, home videos and some interviews on TV. Director Brett Morgen talked in person with Bowie’s widow, top model Iman, for asking permission to use the material as tribute to Bowie. Although in a first moment she was reluctant to this idea, she was convinced by Morgen’s previous works Cobain: Montage of Heck (2015) and Jane (2017) about singer Kurt Cobain and scientist Jane Goodall, where Morgen used personal material from each other to create artistic collages as tribute to them, instead to use in the way to make a classic biographic documentary.

  • The Great Escape Movie Poster

    The Great Escape

    £595.00

    “From a barbed-wire camp to a barbed-wire country, they made…THE GREAT ESCAPE !”

A very rare find, these two-panel Japanese posters just don’t turn up and are incredibly scarce. One of the biggest films of all times certainly deserves a striking poster and this original 1970 STB/Tatekan movie poster for John Sturges’ wartime adventure “The Great Escape” certainly impresses. Frank McCarthy’s ‘countdown’ artwork looks superb featuring Bartlett “Big X” (Richard Attenbrough), Hendley-“The Scrounger” (James Garner) and of course heading the group Hilts-“Cooler King” (Steve McQueen) and has been updated to include a photo montage of the cast and more importantly – McQueen attempting his motorbike jump escape. Although the most memorable scene from the film it doesn’t feature on any of the original 1963 paper and only on a handful or later release posters. The format makes for a truly stunning piece that presents very well and represents a superb example of very rare collectable film memorabilia from one of the greatest film’s ever made and featuring a character and final scene that has become synonymous with screen legend Steve McQueen and is regarded as a much loved classic and one of McQueen’s signature roles.

Trivia: During the climactic motorcycle chase, director John Sturges allowed Steve McQueen to ride (in disguise) as one of the pursuing German soldiers, so that in the final sequence, through the magic of editing, he’s actually chasing himself. McQueen played the German motorcyclist who hits the wire.
