    A British UK quad film poster for Bill Forsyth’s 1983 feel good comedy “Local Hero” starring Burt Lancaster as the oil billionaire Felix Hopper and  Peter Riegert as Mac, the executive sent in to seal the deal. And it’s both leads who feature on this beautiful one-sheet. The artwork is really quite stunning and sadly unattributed.This romantic comedy has gained a certain cult following over the years and has withstood the test of time very well. Genuinely heart warming and as a poster a rare find. Originally rolled (as issued) this unrestored example displays and presents to excellent effect. Hugely popular with a large and loving fan-base the original film poster offered here represents a a very collectable piece of British (well Scottish) movie memorabilia.

    Trivia: First film score composed by Mark Knopfler. Knopfler provided not only the main score, mostly consisting of classical guitar (which would become his cinematic trademark for The Princess Bride (1987)), but filled the fast-fingered country guitar licks during the KNOX radio station announcement while Mac is driving in the film’s opening. The film’s soundtrack scored by former Dire Straits member, Mark Knopfler, sold better than the movie itself helped launch Knopfler’s career as a film composer.

    A complete set of all eight (8) US lobby cards presented in totally original unrestored condition. An absolutely fantastic collection of images from 1983, in what was to become a memorable screen role for David Bowie as Jack Celliers in Nagisa Ôshima’s “Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence”. The imagery chosen for the eight cards perfectly capture the whole feel of the movie with Bowie featured on six leaving Tom Conti, as the titular Mr. Lawrence and a prisoner of war riot to complete the set. Incredibly hard to source as a complete and in this high grade condition, as most sets were split as music fans focussed on the six cards highlighting Bowie. These, unfolded, flat (as issued) examples present and display to excellent effect and represent a really exciting music/movie collectable from one of the most influential icons of modern pop culture…David Bowie.

    Trivia: David Bowie was cast in the role of Major Jack Celliers after director Nagisa Ôshima saw a performance of his on the stage in a Broadway production of ‘The Elephant Man’.

Although in a first moment she was reluctant to this idea, she was convinced by Morgen’s previous works Cobain: Montage of Heck (2015) and Jane (2017) about singer Kurt Cobain and scientist Jane Goodall, where Morgen used personal material from each other to create artistic collages as tribute to them, instead to use in the way to make a classic biographic documentary.

    Although a relatively recent release any paper for Nicolas Winding Refn’s 2016 violent horror thriller “Neon Demon” is extremely scarce. His award winning film was complemented with a series of award winning movie posters, with this stunning UK quad designed by the creative arts agency AllCity. Although popular with audiences and critics alike the movie is considered “art-house” or “independent” and had a very limited cinema release resulting in the scarcity of the poster. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks and displays to excellent effect with minimal handling wear; the colours of the deep blues and purples are dark and unfaded. An extremely scarce, modern original collectable movie memorabilia from a truly talented director that looks very very cool !

    Trivia: The second film by Nicolas Winding Refn to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival that received both booing and cheering after the press showing. The first film was Only God Forgives (2013)

    Any paper for Kathryn Bigelow’s 1991 crime actioner “Point Break” is highly sought after. It is such a super stylish and cool heist movie that is much loved by a huge fanbase. This original British one-sheet is a great looking film poster featuring not just the two male leads – Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves but also number of action scenes from the movie. Originally folded (as issued) this looks and displays to excellent effect with minimal handling wear. A scarce, original collectable item of cinematic movie memorabilia for one of the best ‘buddy-movies’ of recent years with some of the greatest extreme action shots ever filmed.

    Trivia: The film was originally called “Johnny Utah” when Keanu Reeves was cast in the title role. The studio felt that this title said very little about surfing, and by the time Patrick Swayze was cast, the film had been renamed Riders on the Storm after the famous song by The Doors. However, the lyrics had nothing to do with the film, and so that title was also rejected. It was not until halfway through filming that “Point Break” became the film’s title, because of its relevance to surfing.
