“Here to set a spark in your heart and a sparkle in your eye…the world’s best-loved story…told with Walt Disney’s wizardry!”

A beautiful, colourful masterpiece of a poster for Walt Disney’s beloved animated fairytale classic “Cinderella”. Originally premiered in 1950 this superb Japanese B2 is from the 1982 re-release in Japan and focuses on the famous scene as Cinderella meets her true love, the Prince (although often referred to as Prince Charming, he is only ever called the Prince in the movie). As you would expect from a Disney offering artwork is of the highest quality and colours truly bright and vibrant. Marvellous border art of the supporting characters with the fairytale castle acting as a romantic backdrop with the dance floor transformed to a clock face about to strike midnight all offset by a night sky full of bright, shooting stars. Originally rolled (as issued) and unrestored this beautiful example presents very well and displays to excellent effect with colourful imagery exclusively created for this Japanese re-release. A fine example of rare and collectable original movie memorabilia for a much loved Disney classic.

Trivia: The clothing of Cinderella in the film has attracted the attention of some fashion and art historians. The dress that the stepsister tears apart is thought to be inspired by the designs of Salvador Dalí and the magical gown is in the then contemporary style of Christian Dior.

  • Sleeping Beauty Movie Poster

    Sleeping Beauty

    £75.00

“Ablaze With Wonders !…Now the magic moment! Full-length feature fantasy – Beautiful beyond belief”

Walt Disney’s animated classic “Sleeping Beauty” has been re-released many times after its 1959 premiere but the artwork for the 1984 re-release in Japan is perhaps my favourite, whether it’s the colours or the composition I can’t make my mind – it’s just a fantastic looking poster. A magnificent, visual masterpiece of a poster as the film’s more stylised artwork makes the perfect transfer to paper. Beautiful design and artwork, bright bold blue colour palette and stunning animated imagery featuring Maleficent, Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip makes for an impressive looking poster. Originally rolled (as issued) this presents very well and is a fine example of rare and collectable original movie memorabilia for a much loved Disney classic exclusively created for this Japanese re-release.

Trivia: For the first time on a Disney animated feature, one man, Eyvind Earle, was in charge of the color styling, background design and overall look of the film, even painting the great majority of the production backgrounds. Earle’s modernistic approach to design and painting resulted in giving the film a bold, unique art style, even though his colleagues did not care for his production methods and art style while the film was in production. The elaborate background paintings usually took seven to ten days to paint. By contrast, a typical animation background takes one workday to complete.

By the time the movie was made about twelve years later, Schwarzenegger was such a big star they could not afford him. Andre was cast after all, and the two big men had gone on to become friends.
