A very COOL poster and a fantastic example of the supremely talented British film poster artist Brian Bysouth’s work. (Brilliant interview with Eddie Shannon Film on Paper). This original “Big Trouble in Little China” movie poster has it all; incredible graphics, great detail & amazing colours. It is very rare and one of the scarcest John Carpenter movie posters from the 80’s to find. The original UK quad movie poster offered here is from first year of release, 1986 and displays to excellent effect. Originally rolled (as issued) it is presented in incredible unrestored condition and is the best example of this poster I have ever offered for sale. In true investment grade condition, this genuinely rare cult classic from the Carpenter archives represents an extremely desirable and collectable piece of movie memorabilia.
Trivia: John Carpenter and Kurt Russell explain on the audio commentary that the test screening was so overwhelmingly positive, that both of them expected it to be a big hit. However, 20th Century Fox put little into promoting the movie, and it ended up being a box-office bomb. In addition, the film was released in the midst of the hype for Aliens (1986), which was released sixteen days afterwards. However, it went on to be a huge cult hit through home video. Carpenter and Russell explained that the reason the studio did little to promote the film, was because they simply didn’t know how to promote it.

“The Breakfast Club” was a massive blockbuster hit when released in 1985 establishing the careers of its five stars – Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall and it has gone on to attain cult status, as one of the must watch movies of the 1980s. This original country of origin US one-sheet is from the first year of release, 1985 and was designed by the Seiniger Agency and features a fantastic cast shot. Rolled (as issued) this example presents to excellent effect that represents a fine example of rare, collectable cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The David Bowie quote at the beginning of the movie is pulled from his song “Changes”. It can be found on his 1971 album, “Hunky Dory”. Ally Sheedy (Allison Reynolds) suggested the quote to John Hughes, who liked it, and thus included it in the opening.

The ‘Dolby Cinema’ movie poster offered here is considered the rarest and hardest to find of all the posters produced for Marvel’s 2019 billion dollar blockbuster “Captain Marvel”. Designed by creative arts agency LA with photography by Michael Muller this originally rolled (as issued) example looks stunning and displays to superb effect, perfectly suited to this portrait format. With a retro feel and look, Captain Marvel AKA Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) looks truly heroic and takes centre stage in full costume as she strikes across the sky accompanied by a squadron of F-15 jet fighters. An absolutely stunning piece of alternative movie poster art by Matt Taylor. This is a sold out screen print for the Marvel Studios release “Captain Marvel” released by Mondo in 2019. The character depicted is the cosmically powered super-heroine Carol Danvers sporting her red, white, and blue Earth uniform. This is a hand numbered regular edition of 1725 with this being #1008. Originally flat & unfolded (as issued) this superb example displays to impressive effect (honestly the photo does not do this justice…needs to be seen), perfectly suited to this portrait format. Captain Marvel AKA Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) looks truly cosmic and takes centre stage in a full on ‘power’ pose. Very cool and very collectable this exceptional looking piece represents a fantastic item of ‘modern’ super-hero movie memorabilia.

“While the rest of us were just thinking about it…Ferris borrowed a Ferrari and did it…all in a day”
“Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” was a so so hit for John Hughes when released in 1986 launching many of it’s cast on the road to Hollywood glory; Matthew Broderick, Charlie Sheen, Jennifer Grey etc. But it’s the car that Ferris and his pals steal that has kept the movie firmly in the spotlight, especially in more recent years as movie poster art & automobilia have become very, very collectable – it’s one of the most famous and coveted cars that a certain Italian named Enzo ever produced – a Ferrari (RED of course) 250 GT California. Although it was featured on the original cinema marketing campaign it was heavily stylised by the artist Adrian Perkis. So, it’s no surprise that when it was released on video in 1986, the Ferrari figured prominently with a beautiful photograph of the car – don’t worry Ferrari fans, Ferris has been photo-shopped lounging on the car – no Ferrari was harmed in the taking of the photograph. Rolled (as issued) this excellent original 1986 British video poster presents very well and represents a scarce item of collectable cinematic and motoring memorabilia…“Life moves pretty fast. Trivia: John Hughes personally selected the songs for the film. He wanted them to be somewhat obscure to the typical moviegoing audience, feeling that he wanted everything about the film to feel new. For example, the song heard when the Ferrari is revealed for the first time (and during the final scene) is “Oh Yeah” by Swiss band Yello. The song was not a hit after its first release, but its inclusion in this movie rapidly popularized it, prompting a re-release. It has since been used in dozens of other movies and series, often in scenes featuring a desirable object or person.

Flat and unfolded (as issued) this excellent original 1986 publicity still presents exceptionally well and is presented in a custom made black frame finished with UV plexiglass and represents a very collectable and displayable item of movie memorabilia. “Life moves pretty fast. Trivia: The restaurant where Ferris and company go to eat is the same one Jake and Elwood terrorized in The Blues Brothers (1980). It is also the same restaurant from St. Elmo’s Fire (1985), where Kirby waits for Dale.

“Fire and Ice” is a cult animated feature, based on characters co-created by Ralph Bakshi and legendary fantasy artist Frank Frazetta, and was made using the process of rotoscoping, in which scenes were shot in live-action and then traced onto animation cels. And it is from the first year of release, 1983 that this Frazetta illustrated original British UK quad is from. Impressive and exciting poster artwork promising everything that the award winning artist could offer – Frazetta is regarded as one of the greatest fantasy and science fiction artists of all time, noted for comic books, paperback book covers, paintings, posters, LP record album covers and other media, with some examples of his painted original artwork selling for seven figures, making this film poster very good value for money. Presented in lovely unrestored, rolled (as issued) condition this is a marvellous item of 1980’s nostalgia and a great piece of original cinematic movie memorabilia
Trivia: According to director Ralph Bakshi, the animators found working for producer Frank Frazetta to be so daunting that some of them even fainted when Frazetta visited the set.

Known as the ‘door’ style this original UK quad is the rarer of the two issued and features Culkin’s character Kevin MacCallister and his adversaries the ‘Wet Bandits’ – Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. Rolled (as issued) this example presents very well and represents a rare piece of collectable cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: In May 2011, the house in Winnetka, Illinois used in this movie was listed for sale at $2.4 million. It sold in March 2012 for $1.585 million. The house is promoted as a tourist attraction, and cited as an example of “How to Get Your Home in the Movies”.

This original UK quad is from the 1991 re-release and features Culkin’s character Kevin MacCallister in ‘Holy Cow’ posse and his adversaries the ‘Wet Bandits’ – Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. Rolled (as issued) this example presents to excellent effect with deep blue unfaded background and crisp colours on the character images. It represents a fine example of rare, collectable cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Joe Pesci was used to adding profanity to most of his scripts, and kept forgetting that he was filming a family movie during his character’s on-screen outbursts, so director Chris Columbus advised him to say “fridge” instead of the “f” word. A lot of Pesci’s unintelligible pained mutterings were his way to avoid cursing.

“The Karate Kid” was a huge box-office hit for John G. Avildsen when released in 1984, going on to launch a number of sequels, remakes (including a change of gender) and an incredibly popular and long running TV series “Cobra Kai”, which picks up the story in present day using nearly all the original cast. Any paper from the series is hugely collectable with the first release, 1984 country of origin, US one-sheet (as offered here) the most sought after. Like many film posters from the period it’s an early example of photo-shopping, which in this case really works well, with a silhouetted Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) the main focus as he is about the perform the iconic ‘crane kick’. Presented in excellent rolled (as issued) condition, it truly is superb and a marvellous item of collectable cinematic memorabilia from an extremely popular franchise.
Trivia: The yellow classic automobile that Daniel polishes in the famous “wax-on/wax-off” training scene, then later offered by Mr. Miyagi as Daniel’s birthday gift, was actually given to Ralph Macchio by the producer, and he still owns it. The car is a 1948 Ford Super De Luxe.

Love it or hate it “Rise of the Footsoldier” is a modern classic with a huge cult following. Filmed in 2007 and based on a true story of Essex gangsters – Carlton Leach, Tony Tucker and pat Tate it faithfully recreates the 1990s in all of its glory, portraying a violent crime genre that is still going strong and showing no sign of flagging with four sequels to date. There is so little paper available for this title, making this original UK quad such a great find – it is ultra rare and the first time we have ever offered one for sale. The eye-catching black and white imagery created by Mister S is certainly striking as the cast are featured on the barrel of a shotgun Originally rolled (as issued), the poster displays beautifully and is presented in excellent condition with minimal handling wear and represents an extremely desirable piece of original British cinematic memorabilia.
Trivia: During the films opening scene in the morgue, the answering machine message left on Tony Tucker’s phone was the real life recording that Carlton left him the day after the shooting. This was confirmed by Carlton in an interview with James English.
