“Bond drives an Aston…naturally”
In 1965, Aston Martin released this tie-in advertisement poster featuring Bond’s DB5 in their dealer showrooms to promote their association with the James Bond franchise and the latest release “Thunderball”, at the time the highest grossing film series on record. Original, 1965 are extremely scarce and in some cases prohibitively expensive, but in 1999 Bond Producer’s EON authorised a limited edition licenced print run of only 400 posters. They were printed to approximately the same size as the originals (British double crown size – 20″ x 30″) and are identifiable by the unique limited edition hand written number on each one – in this case 384/400. Presented rolled in excellent condition this is hugely desirable and very collectable and would be a worthy addition to any collection of James Bond movie memorabilia and is a truly impressive 007 poster.
Trivia: On October 27, 2010, the Aston Martin DB5 used in this movie and Goldfinger (1964) was sold, fully “loaded”, to American classic car collector Harry Yeaggy for a reported $4 million by London’s RM Auctions. The car had only one previous private owner, an American radio station owner named Jerry Lee, who purchased the car directly from the Aston Martin factory in 1969 for $12,000. Lee had kept the car at his Pennsylvania house for over forty years.

“Thunderball” sees 007’s fourth screen outing as the action moves to the exotic Bahamas as the agent with a licence to kill tackles S.P.E.C.T.R.E’s Emilio Largo who is holding the world to ransom with two stolen nuclear warheads. This photo montage style Swiss one-sheet features striking mixture of key scenes and characters. I particularly like the large 007 logo with Connery silhouette which runs across the bottom. The design is exclusive to the 1970s Swiss re-release and not found anywhere else. Presented in excellent unrestored folded (as issued) condition this presents superbly with minimal handling wear and represents a fantastic piece of collectable James Bond cinematic memorabilia from the Sean Connery era.

A personal favourite; film and poster. (IMHO) McQueen’s best performance, he was the ‘The Kid’…Without doubt one of the best looking McQueen film poster images. With design and artwork by Georges Allard this original 1965 French ‘Medium‘ Affiche film poster for “The Cincinnati Kid” (Le Kid de Cincinnati) is a stunning piece. Deep, rich colours and beautiful painted artwork, very striking and a fantastically rare French poster featuring country unique imagery; effective and memorable as McQueen’s presence dominates (rightly so) the poster. A real find in such high grade original condition. Totally unrestored this folded (as issued) example displays and presents to excellent effect and represents a scarce & highly collectable item of authentic movie memorabilia from one of the great Steve McQueen performances…“You’re good, kid, but as long as I’m around you’re second best. You might as well learn to live with it.”
Trivia: The rather gratuitous fight scene in the film was added at the instigation of Steve McQueen who had it written into his contract that he feature in an action scene.

“Excitement is GO! Adventure is GO! Danger is GO!”.
“Thunderbirds” is perfect entertainment. Everyone can appreciate a good puppet show, and everyone can appreciate a good model; but this show took puppet shows and models to a bold new level of detailing and production complexity. On paper it must have looked crazy, but believe me, it works and is like a world of toys come to vibrant life. For the 60th anniversary two of the series’ finest episodes “Trapped in the Sky” and “Terror in New York City” have received a 4K upgrade and restoration and released (only in the UK) as a double-bill for an exclusive one-night only cinematic presentation. Not just incredibly scarce, the UK quad film poster (designed by the creative agency Mister S) that accompanied the release is stunning and features nearly all (sorry Thunderbird 5 fans) the iconic International Rescue vehicles in all their glory, the Tracy Family and of course Lady Penelope and her chauffeur Parker. The colours just pop on this beautiful rolled (as issued) example. Bringing back the nostalgia, it’s impressive to see how well Gerry Anderson’s assorted Supermarionation projects have held up over the years, but it was Thunderbirds that was always my favourite, and it’s heartwarming to see that even after 60 years it still provides majestic, feelgood entertainment for all ages.
Trivia: The faces of the Tracy family members were composites of those of famous celebrities of the day:
Jeff Tracy was modeled upon actor Lorne Greene of Bonanza (1959) fame.
Scott Tracy was modelled upon actor Sean Connery, who starred in the early James Bond films.
Alan Tracy was modeled upon actor Robert Reed of The Defenders (1961).
John Tracy was modeled after British pop singer Adam Faith and Hollywood actor Charlton Heston.
Whilst Virgil is an older-looking Alan and Gordon a younger version of John.

“A fantastic journey to a lost empire one thousand fathoms beneath the sea!”…Very rare original 1965 US One sheet movie poster for Jacques Tourneur’s under water fantasy adventure “War-Gods of the Deep.”. Beautiful painted artwork by reknowned poster artist Reynold Brown is a highlight of a fine looking poster. Originally folded this example looks fantastic and displays superbly.
