An impressive art nouveau style movie poster that’s a fitting tribute to the giallo ‘horror’ classics. Designed by artist and illustrator Gilles Vranckx and commissioned by Anonymes Films especially for the theatrical release of “The Strange Colour of Your Body’s Tears” this award winning one-sheet design is rightly regarded as one of the best looking film posters of 2013. It presents near perfectly being originally rolled (as issued) and is genuinely scarce with very limited showings, primarily in a small number of ‘art-house’ & ‘specialist’ cinemas combined with a low key advertising campaign. A beautiful piece of stunning ‘modern’ film memorabilia that is hugely collectible encompassing not just movie fans but also the horror art and mainstream art marketplace.

Trivia: The film features fragments of Ennio Morricone‘s Erotico Mistico from the film Maddalena (1971) and Peppino De Luca‘s Rito a Los Angeles from the film Dorian Gray (1970). Both songs bear strong resemblance to different parts Iron Butterfly‘s 17-minute classic In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, from 1968.

After making his buddy cop hit “48 Hours” Walter Hill directed a film that was inspired by the movies he grew up on. It was a wild homage filled with the kinds of images and themes he loved most about those movies such as: “custom cars, kissing in the rain, neon, trains in the night, high-speed pursuit, rumbles, rock stars, motorcycles, jokes in tough situations, leather jackets and questions of honor.” What Hill created was “Streets of Fire” (1984) a 1980’s meets retro 1950’s musical-action-crime-comedy B-movie epic. The film stars Michael Pare as Tom Cody an ex-soldier who returns to his home to rescue his ex-girlfriend, a singer named Ellen Aim (Diane Lane) from the clutches of evil biker gang leader Raven Shaddock (Willem Dafoe). The music (heavily influenced by Meatloaf’s guru Jim Steinman) featured in the film also reflected the odd 1950’s meets the 1980’s backdrop with its diverse rockabilly, doo-wop, blues and New Wave sounds…Even though “Streets of Fire” didn’t do well when it was released, over the years it has developed a cult following because of its unique qualities. The colourful eye catching poster art by Riehm for the film reflects the furiously stylised aesthetic that was used to tell the rock n’ roll fable of love ! Laurent Durieux’s 2018 screen print for Michael Cimino’s The Deer Hunter (1978). Released by Nautilus Art Prints, this print is signed and hand-numbered #43 from a limited print run of 375. It was voted Expresso Beans’ cinema poster of the year in 2018. Printed using eleven colour inks, Durieux’s illustration is a split mirror image composition showing Robert De Niro’s character Michael hunting in the tranquil mountains of Pennsylvania, and as a soldier in war torn Vietnam beset by explosions and helicopters. Beautiful colours and clever composition make for an impressive poster. Presented in excellent condition this rolled (as issued) example displays superbly and is an impressive piece of stylish poster artwork and is a hugely desirable alternative movie poster.
Trivia: According to Michael Cimino, Robert De Niro requested a live cartridge in the revolver for the scene in which Michael subjects Stanley to an impromptu game of Russian Roulette, to heighten the intensity of the situation. John Cazale agreed without protest, but obsessively rechecked the gun before each take, to make sure that the live round wasn’t next in the chamber.

Perhaps one of the most defining images in cinematic history and certainly up there with Karloff’s Frankenstein monster as the most memorable of the horror genre – Linda Blair as the possessed Regan. This alternative movie poster by horror artist supreme, Graham Humphreys for William Friedkin’s Oscar winning horror masterpiece “The Exorcist” is a striking example of horror artwork, featuring some incredible characterisations and an amazing colour palette – from orange to sickly green/grey. Trivia: When Regan projectile vomits at Father Karras, the vomit was intended to hit Jason Miller in the chest, but the plastic tubing misfired, hitting him in the face. His reaction of shock and disgust while wiping away the vomit is genuine, and Miller admitted in interviews that he was very angered by this mistake.

“Bolt Your Doors. Lock Your Windows. There’s something in The Fog !”
After the huge success of Halloween John Carpenter quickly followed up with the equally creepy horror The Fog. Taking creepy imagery from the movie the US one-sheet features silhouetted zombie pirates in a ‘fog’ filed room. The original movie poster offered here is from first year of release, 1980 and displays to excellent effect. Originally folded (as issued) it is presented in unrestored condition with only minimal handling wear. Great horror imagery on a genuinely rare cult classic from the Carpenter archives that represents extremely desirable and collectable movie memorabilia.
Trivia: Although this was essentially a low budget independent movie, John Carpenter chose to shoot the movie in anamorphic widescreen Panavision. This decision gave the movie a grander feel for the viewer so this didn’t seem like a low budget horror movie.

When originally released in 1972 it set the template for gritty, realistic crime thrillers and redefined McQueen’s stylish look for the 1970s. A great looking image as McQueen is featured in full shotgun action, shoot out mode on this eye catching example. Originally flat and folded (as issued) it displays and presents superbly with the movie details printed on the reverse. This is an excellent, original, unrestored example for a rare & sought after Steve McQueen title.
Trivia: Colin Farrell, Kevin Costner, Pierce Brosnan and Bruce Willis have all listed McQueen as their hero and inspiration for being an actor.

Designed by creative arts agency GHAH Studios the 2020 US one-sheet film poster for Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Godfather (Part III) Coda – The Death of Michael Corleone” is a dramatic, atmospheric poster image featuring the remaining members of the Corleone dynasty – the aged Don Michael Corleone (Al Pacino), Vincent (Adam Garcia) the illegitimate son of Michael’s brother Sonny, Connie (Talia Shire) and Michael’s daughter Mary (Sofia Coppola). With dark, rich colour tones it is a perfect choice of design for Coppola’s final instalment of his hugely influential & Oscar winning trilogy. The double sided US one sheet offered here is presented in excellent unrestored, rolled (as issued) condition). It displays superbly and represents a fine piece of collectable original movie memorabilia for a much admired and hugely respected film franchise.
Trivia: Because of the popularity of the two earlier Godfather movies, Frank Sinatra reversed his anti-Godfather stance and expressed interest in playing Don Altobello. He lost interest because of the size of the paycheck for the role, and it went to Eli Wallach. Coincidentally, Sinatra got his role in From Here to Eternity (1953) when Wallach backed out due to scheduling conflicts with a Broadway play. Legend has it that Sinatra used mob ties to get Wallach’s part, which inspired the Johnny Fontane subplot in The Godfather (1972).
