For the 40th Anniversary 2020 re-release of the George Lucas sci fi classic sequel “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back” Lucasfilm issued this amazing one-sheet featuring the artwork of Matt Ferguson, the hugely successful artist responsible for some of the most memorable recent Marvel cinematic releases. This ‘updated’ style features some of the best imagery from this instalment from the original trilogy with some fantastic key scene renditions and like many of the 1980 posters a dominant Darth Vader and the iconic Imperial Walkers. This eye-catching and desirable design was given a limited edition lenticular makeover in 2020 by Bottleneck Gallery and sold in 1 mm and 4mm editions. The poster offered here is printed on 1mm PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) and mounted on high-density paper backing, numbered #200/300. Lenticular printing is a technology in which lenticular lenses (a technology used for 3D displays) are used to produce printed images with an illusion of depth or the ability to change or move as the image is viewed from different angles. Truly scarce and highly sought after, Ferguson’s imagery is already firmly established as a fans favourite, and this impressive item represents a fine addition for any collector of original movie posters or Star Wars fan memorabilia.
Trivia: In order to avoid sharing creative rights, George Lucas decided to avoid using a major studio to finance this movie. Instead, he bankrolled the $18 million production himself, using a combination of his profits from Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) and a bank loan. Although the move was risky, it paid off several times over. Lucas recovered his investment within three months of the movie’s release.

The third instalment of George Lucas’ original Star Wars trilogy “Return of the Jedi” contains a number of incredible set pieces right from the opening scene in Bobba Fett’s lair, Han’s rescue by Luke, the reveal of a larger more deadly Death Star, the Ewoks and their home planet – the Forest Moon of Endor and of course the return of one of the greatest villains ever created – DARTH VADER. And it’s the Sith Lord who features on this full-length (72 inches high), life size fully licensed commercial poster released as part of the movie’s original marketing campaign in 1983. It truly is spectacular. Presented here in original rolled (as issued) condition this fantastic example has deep unfaded vibrant colour tones and displays to excellent effect. “The Empire Falls…”
For the third chapter of the original Star Wars trilogy “Return of the Jedi” Lucasfilm successfully chose a number of internationally acclaimed artists to present a varied series of designs for the Worldwide advertising campaign. One of the most revered was the Yamakatsu issued Style B Japanese B2 by the prominent Star Wars artist Noriyoshi Ohrai. Titled ‘Starfall’ . For the 40th Anniversary the imagery was licensed by the US clothing brand Kith and used to promote their exclusive collection of adults and kids’ apparel, along with commemorative accessories. You could only obtain one of these posters if you attended the launch event at the New York City store. Larger than the original B2s and with the ‘Return of the Jedi’ added these are incredibly sought after by collectors. Ohrai’s beautiful illustration is widely regarded as one of the best of any ‘Star Wars’ posters and is hugely desirable. Presented here in unrestored rolled (as issued) condition this amazing example looks magnificent; deep unfaded vibrant colours that truly ‘pop’ from the paper. A stunning poster that is genuinely very, very scarce and a must have addition for any Star Wars fan or movie poster collection from what was (until 2015) the defining chapter in the Star Wars original trilogy.

Beautiful, original 2008 US one-sheet movie poster for George Lucas’ animated instalment of the space saga that is “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”. Striking artwork by CMP Design & New Wave Creative makes for a real eye-catching piece that because of the dark colour tones makes it very rare in this high grade condition. Originally rolled (as issued) this double sided example displays and presents to excellent effect. Like everything associated with “Star Wars” merchandise and advertising, the top quality production values have created a fantastic and colourful looking item of hugely collectable, hard to find original Star Wars memorabilia.
Trivia: The chest piece that Anakin wears is the same design as the one he would later wear as Darth Vader.

A global phenomenon when originally released in 1977 producing over the years a multitude of related merchandise including some exceptional posters one of which was a design by revered fantasy artists Drew Struzan for the 10th Anniversary. Struzan is now regarded as THE ‘Star Wars’ movie poster artist with this limited edition, hand-numbered example #2767/3000 very much a favourite with Star Wars collectors. Printed by Gore Graphics on heavy stock art paper and distributed by Kilian Enterprises, the print quality and colour saturation is incredible. For it’s second season Disney Plus issued a magnificent advance “New Season streaming Oct. 30” one-sheet poster for the hit Star Wars universe show “The Mandalorian”. The colours are truly breathtaking with ‘Mando’ and his ward ‘Grogu’ (Baby Yoda) illustrated in almost photographic detail. Presented here in original unrestored condition this beautiful 2020 rolled (as issued) example displays to excellent effect with the minimal of handling wear. Only ever released as a one-sheet poster in the United States and printed only for the US market to promote Season 2 of “The Mandalorian” this is a truly scarce poster and highly sought after. “The Way” by Rory Kurtz for Mondo was released to celebrate Season One of the hit TV series, and it is such a cool poster. Hand-Annotated ‘Archive 2’ as it has come directly from the personal archive of the artist Rory Kurtz and printed using eleven colour inks on Domtar Lynx Opaque 100# cover paper. Kurtz has this to say about the design “The Mandalorian is mysterious and iconic in aesthetic, and I felt the art should mirror that, with Mando holstering his blaster stoically amidst the smoke, ash, and fallen enemies of the recently finished battle”. This is a truly scarce alternative movie poster and highly sought after. A beautiful alternative movie poster by Paul Mann for Roland Emmerich’s sci-fi actioner with an Egyptian mythology twist “Stargate”. Superb artwork for this highly enjoyable romp, resulting in one of the best looking alternative movie posters for the title. Printed in 2023 by Mad Duck this ‘Black’ edition is hand-numbered #25 from a run of 250. Mann’s beautifully detailed artwork and outstanding characterisations, combines with a beautiful colour palette to create an art print that certainly impresses. Presented in excellent (as issued) condition it represents a fine example of desirable and highly collectable cinematic movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The stargate is a system designed to open a wormhole. A wormhole is a hypothetical way of space travel called an “Einstein-Rosen bridge”, named after scientists Nathan Rosen and Albert Einstein. According to them, the wormhole should be capable to unite two distant points in the universe, altering space-time laws to cross from a point to another in a brief period of time. The name “wormhole” compares the universe to an apple, with a worm boring through it to reach a point on the other side instead of crawling the long way around on the outside.

An impressive art nouveau style movie poster that’s a fitting tribute to the giallo ‘horror’ classics. Designed by artist and illustrator Gilles Vranckx and commissioned by Anonymes Films especially for the theatrical release of “The Strange Colour of Your Body’s Tears” this award winning one-sheet design is rightly regarded as one of the best looking film posters of 2013. It presents near perfectly being originally rolled (as issued) and is genuinely scarce with very limited showings, primarily in a small number of ‘art-house’ & ‘specialist’ cinemas combined with a low key advertising campaign. A beautiful piece of stunning ‘modern’ film memorabilia that is hugely collectible encompassing not just movie fans but also the horror art and mainstream art marketplace.

Trivia: The film features fragments of Ennio Morricone‘s Erotico Mistico from the film Maddalena (1971) and Peppino De Luca‘s Rito a Los Angeles from the film Dorian Gray (1970). Both songs bear strong resemblance to different parts Iron Butterfly‘s 17-minute classic In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, from 1968.

After making his buddy cop hit “48 Hours” Walter Hill directed a film that was inspired by the movies he grew up on. It was a wild homage filled with the kinds of images and themes he loved most about those movies such as: “custom cars, kissing in the rain, neon, trains in the night, high-speed pursuit, rumbles, rock stars, motorcycles, jokes in tough situations, leather jackets and questions of honor.” What Hill created was “Streets of Fire” (1984) a 1980’s meets retro 1950’s musical-action-crime-comedy B-movie epic. The film stars Michael Pare as Tom Cody an ex-soldier who returns to his home to rescue his ex-girlfriend, a singer named Ellen Aim (Diane Lane) from the clutches of evil biker gang leader Raven Shaddock (Willem Dafoe). The music (heavily influenced by Meatloaf’s guru Jim Steinman) featured in the film also reflected the odd 1950’s meets the 1980’s backdrop with its diverse rockabilly, doo-wop, blues and New Wave sounds…Even though “Streets of Fire” didn’t do well when it was released, over the years it has developed a cult following because of its unique qualities. The colourful eye catching poster art by Riehm for the film reflects the furiously stylised aesthetic that was used to tell the rock n’ roll fable of love ! Originally rolled (as issued) this beautiful unrestored 1984 US one sheet film poster presents superbly and represents a fine piece of original very collectable movie / music memorabilia…“A Rock ‘n’ Roll Fable !”
