Heavy metal rock gods don’t come any more legendary than Motorhead front man ‘Lemmy’ (Lemmy Kilmister). A true British institution and all-round ‘top-bloke’ as featured here in the 2010 documentary “Lemmy” by Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski. With testimonials by rock’s leading ‘Hall of Famers” (many of which are featured on the UK quad design) this is a remarkable cinematic biography. Designed by OTMentertain the imagery on the British quad places Lemmy centre stage offset against an ‘Ace of Spades’ logo. The advertising campaign for the movie was very low key and the UK film posters that accompanied the extremely limited cinema release are truly scarce. Originally rolled (as issued) this incredibly rare example displays to excellent effect and represents a fantastic collectable item of music, film and cultural memorabilia.
Trivia: The film crew had to clean Lemmy’s kitchen to shoot the shot of Lemmy making breakfast cause Lemmy didn’t want to do it or to shoot in a dirty kitchen.

A rare original country of origin 1985 UK quad film poster for Chris Bernard’s “Letter To Brezhnev” designed and illustrated by the British punk illustrator and designer, Jamie Reid, the artist responsible for most of the Sex Pistols’ influential graphics. This poster is featured in Sim Branaghan’s excellent book British Film Posters. He says of the poster and Palace Pictures – “The British producer and distributor, Palace pictures, maintained a higher design standard than most with the poster for Letter to Brezhnev one of the very last genuinely distinctive artist-designed British film posters”. Originally folded (as issued) this excellent example presents exceptionally well and represents a fine piece of collectable memorabilia from one of Punk’s best known artists.
Trivia: The script was written in only two weeks and the film was shot in three weeks.

“A battle fought in the stars, now… comes to Earth.”
Twenty years before Transformers, Iron Man, Captain America and Thor came He-Man, Skeletor and the world of Eternia as the Mattel toys and cartoon series were magically transported to the big screen in Gary Goddard’s fantasy adventure “Masters of the Universe”. Boasting some of the finest fantasy art seen on a movie poster, this original 1987 UK quad by Jean Mascii, certainly impresses with He-Man himself (Dolph Lundgren) taking prominence as Skeletor (Frank Langella) is positioned menacingly over his shoulder. Presented in excellent original rolled (as issued) condition with strong vibrant colours it represents one of the best examples of collectable, cinematic movie memorabilia we have offered from the 1980s.
Trivia: Meg Foster said that she based her character on Shakespeare’s Lady Macbeth. In the film’s beginning, she is a pantomime villainess but obviously deeply in love with Skeletor. As the storyline progresses, she gradually comes to realise that he does not truly care for her. In the end, she abandons him to his fate, her withdrawal of her forces leads to his eventual defeat. In Foster’s opinion, the character progresses from evildoer to scorned woman to tragic heroine
“Let the festivities begin”
Titled “The May Queen” this impressive giclee art print inspired by Ari Aster’s cult classic horror film “MidSommar” features the beautiful and intricate artwork of Ukrainian artist Ann Bembi, who’s photo-realistic style perfectly suits the content. With shades of “Wicker Man” the bright colours and sea of flowers can’t hide the anguish and fear of lead actress Florence Pugh (Dani). A lovely alternative movie poster for this slow-burn pagan horror that has a rapidly growing cult following. Available for a strictly limited one-hour time window on April 5th 2022 when 580 were ordered, with the poster here being hand-numbered #222. Originally rolled (as issued) it presents and displays to excellent effect and represents an outstanding piece of horror genre movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The practice of ättestupa is effectively a myth. As depicted in the movie, the elderly were expected to sacrifice for the good of the village, maintaining efficiency.

An incredibly stylish and cool film poster for Gareth Edwards’ ‘intelligent’ creature feature “MONSTERS”. Created by design agency ‘Hoo-Ha’ this award winning original 2010 UK quad film poster is a striking looking example and incredibly rare in this style. Made to resemble one of the battered metal warning signs seen throughout the movie and finished in bright orange and deep black it is an incredible looking piece. Extremely scarce, the advertising campaign was very low key for Gareth Edwards’ debut feature and the UK film posters that accompanied the extremely limited cinema release are in very short supply and truly hard to find. A fine and clever film poster for Gareth Edwards’ ‘intelligent’ creature feature “MONSTERS”. Distinctive & eye-catching with the two main actors; Scoot McNair & Whitney Able stranded in the Mexican jungles of the quarantined ‘Infected Zone’. Undoubtedly, one of the great music biography films; David Bowie as presented by Brett Morgen in “Moonage Daydream”. Technically it’s not a biography but a loud, vivid, exploration and celebration of Bowie’s life, art, and music. Made up of clips cleverly edited together and enhanced to make this a cinematic experience. This original 2022 UK quad designed by the creative agency Bangers & Mash and featuring an iconic Bowie image is a truly great find due to the very limited cinematic release in art-house and small independent cinemas. Presented in near perfect unrestored, rolled (as issued) condition – truly stunning, and a perfect complement to the ground breaking musician. Incredibly scarce with a very low print run this really is an exciting item of rock / movie collectable from one of the most influential icons of modern pop culture…David Bowie.

Director Brett Morgen talked in person with Bowie’s widow, top model Iman, for asking permission to use the material as tribute to Bowie. Although in a first moment she was reluctant to this idea, she was convinced by Morgen’s previous works Cobain: Montage of Heck (2015) and Jane (2017) about singer Kurt Cobain and scientist Jane Goodall, where Morgen used personal material from each other to create artistic collages as tribute to them, instead to use in the way to make a classic biographic documentary.

There is no doubting the cinematic and cultural influence and impact of Quentin Tarantino with his ninth feature “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” his most anticipated as he presents his own unique take on the end of ‘Hollywood’s Golden Age’ as the notorious Manson Family murders spelt the end of the hippie era of ‘Peace & Love’. With incredibly high production values and unique design dynamics (QT personally supervises the process) it is difficult to imagine a Tarantino movie where any of the posters and merchandising produced isn’t so hugely collectable and sought after. The 2019 British UK quad offered here is no exception. Designed by creative agency BLT Communications with finished artwork by Steven Chorney this is truly a stunning and beautifully detailed poster with a nod to the vintage hand drawn artwork from movies Tarantino is so fond of. Originally rolled (as issued) this totally unrestored example presents and displays to excellent effect without a blemish of note and represents a hugely collectable and totally cool piece of movie memorabilia from a truly iconic movie maker…“Hey! You’re Rick fucking Dalton, don’t you forget it.”
Trivia: Its title is an homage to Sergio Leone, who has directed Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) as well as Once Upon a Time in America (1984). Tarantino has cited the director as a favorite of his and an influence throughout his career.

“Prince of Darkness” sees John Carpenter not just in the director’s chair, he wrote the soundtrack and also the screenplay under the pseudonym Martin Quatermass, which is a direct homage to Bernard Quatermass, the lead character in Hammer’s film and TV series that started with The Quatermass Experiment and that features several elements in common with Carpenter’s story. The film is the second in what the director calls his ‘Apocalypse Trilogy’ that started with The Thing (1982) and ended with In the Mouth of Madness (1994) and is the result of Carpenter’s interest in theoretical physics and atomic theory as well as the idea of an ultimate evil or ‘anti-god’ combined with the physics-based concept of matter and anti-matter. Carpenter always a well regarded and popular film maker has enjoyed a huge renaissance in more recent years so it was no surprise that this title was one of four seminal movies by the director re-released by Studio Canal in 2018, remastered in 4K, with the others being “They Live”, “Escape From New York” and “The Fog”. All four movies had a strictly limited cinematic release and were accompanied a newly designed poster campaign (quads and one-sheets) by leading artist Matt Ferguson. Ferguson’s unique artistic style is evident throughout the four, each with its very own unique colour palette. A number of these full-size 30″ x 40″ UK quad styles were also released as a limited edition art print by Vice Press. Identical to the cinematic quad, in fact exactly the same – same paper, printer etc these were issued as timed releases each signed and hand-numbered by Matt Ferguson. Offered here is one of these signed art prints numbered #48 from a print run of only 184. Originally rolled (as issued) it presents in excellent condition. A cool, cult poster that represents very collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from one of the greatest and most influential director’s who is still actively working in the film industry.
Trivia: John Carpenter claims to have been fascinated with religion ever since watching the old Hammer horror films and how Holy Water would destroy vampires.

A scarce poster in this high grade condition, that represents very collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from one of the greatest and most influential director’s ever working in the sci-fi / horror / action genre.
Trivia: Screenwriter John Carpenter is credited as “Martin Quatermass”. The pseudonym is a homage to Professor Bernard Quatermass, the lead character of The Quatermass Experiment (1953) and several subsequent TV series and film versions. In the original press notes he was described as ‘the brother of Professor Bernard Quatermass, head of the British rocket programme.’ In a further nod to Carpenter’s influences, the character Wyndham is named after science-fiction author John Wyndham and Anne Howard‘s character is named after the star of The Wasp Woman (1959), Susan Cabot.

“VENGEANCE HAS A NAME”
Taken on its own terms, “Punisher: War Zone” is everything it is supposed to be: excessively violent, larger than life, fast paced, and almost always loads of fun. War Zone doesn’t take itself seriously and it doesn’t ask the audience to do so. Firmly established as Marvels darkest and most controversial ‘hero’ it would be fair to say that The Punisher is probably best known and enjoyed by American, European and Far East fanboys than those in Britain and although heavily promoted in said areas the British release was fairly limited, with the movie being shown in only a handful of cinemas. Meaning that the accompanying film poster is genuinely scarce, which is a real shame as both LA & Ignition creative design agencies have collaborated to produce a real stand out poster for the UK quad design. This original 2008 UK quad film poster is very dark & very moody and printed on a heavy stock paper with a matt finish that only enhances the dark shadowy tones further. A real ‘peach’ of a Punisher poster. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks and displays to excellent effect with impressive gritty artwork that represents a fine piece of collectible ‘comic book’ cinema movie memorabilia.
Trivia: After this film, the live action film rights to the Punisher reverted back to Marvel Studios. Ray Stevenson would later appear in another Marvel production, produced by Marvel Studios this time, as Volstagg in the Thor film series.
