  • THX 1138 Movie Poster

    THX 1138

    £595.00

“In the 25th century, a time when people have designations instead of names, a man, THX 1138, and a woman, LUH 3417, rebel against their rigidly controlled society.”

Perhaps not one of the most influential sci-fi movies ever made, but certainly up there with Metropolis and 2001: A Space Odyssey as one of the most important –  “THX 1138” saw the cinematic debut in 1971 writer and director George Lucas, most famous for creating the ‘Galaxy, far, far away’ and introducing the world to Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo and Darth Vader. This is an incredibly rare British poster and the first time we have offered an original first year of release (1971) UK quad for sale and delighted that it is such a high grade example. Originally folded (as issued) it presents in excellent original unrestored condition and represents a hugely collectable & desirable item of  cinematic film memorabilia from the iconic director and creator of “Star Wars”.

Trivia: To provide the large number of extras required, George Lucas contacted the Synanon drug rehabilitation facility. He found many recovering drug users who were required to be shaved bald for the drug program anyway. The Synanon Facility is mentioned in Philip K Dick’s science fiction novel “Valis”.
