One of cinemas all time classic movies is Ridley Scott’s Oscar winning deep space horror “Alien”. The worldwide marketing campaign is instantly recognisable by the (now) iconic alien ‘egg’ imagery designed by the creative agency Bemis Balkind, and it was accompanied by a wealth of other memorabilia to market the movie. This included fully licensed Studio items, and the two lobby cards available here are first class examples of that high quality officially endorsed material. These are from a special commercial set of two colour prints that was “Published by Turn-Point Publishing Corp.” at the time of the film’s release in 1979 and sold primarily through the sci-fi comic book store ‘Forbidden Planet’. The images chosen couldn’t be more striking- a close up of the iconic chestburster scene as the Alien first appears bursting out of Kane’s (John Hurt) body and as the film reaches its climax the fully formed Alien is about to attack Ripley (Sigourney Weaver). Neither of these images (it would have been a bit of a spoiler) appear in any other lobby card images for the movie. Originally flat and unfolded (as issued) these two cards present and display to very good effect, with only minimal handling wear. Hugely collectable and a fantastic piece of cinematic movie memorabilia from a truly influential movie that changed the face of modern sci-fi horror forever.
Trivia: Director Sir Ridley Scott and writers Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett wanted H.R. Giger to design the alien creatures based on drawings from his book ‘Necronomicon’, but they had some difficulties in convincing the studio. Executives were initially appalled by Giger’s dark and disturbing imagery, but Scott’s insistence finally won them over. Even so, Giger’s designs had to be changed several times because of their blatant sexuality.

Set in the shadows, the Alien is perfectly camouflaged by the workmanlike design of the ship’s interior, with colours that perfectly suit the subject matter. Issued as part of Hero Complex Gallery’s Ridley Scott show in 2021 the full art style (no title or credits) has been hand-numbered #12 from a print run of only 30. Originally rolled (as issued) this presents and displays to excellent effect. Hugely collectable and a fantastic piece of cinematic movie memorabilia from a truly influential movie that changed the face of modern sci-fi horror forever.

In typical Ananphada style the artwork is intricate and beautifully detailed, featuring the titular Alien against a backdrop of key scenes and characters. A spot varnish finish has been applied to both the film’s title and the Alien which only emphasis what a stunning screen print this is. Hand-numbered #97/175 this presents and displays to excellent effect. Hugely collectable and a fantastic piece of cinematic movie memorabilia from a truly influential movie that changed the face of modern sci-fi horror forever.

In typical Kwow style the artwork is beautifully detailed, drawing incredible, memorable imagery from the movie. It is highlighted by a spot varnish finish on the titular Alien, that really adds an air of quality to the print. Hand-numbered #6/110 and printed using 11 colour inks onto Fedrigoni Freelife Vellum white paper this presents and displays to excellent effect. Hugely collectable and a fantastic piece of cinematic movie memorabilia from a truly influential movie that changed the face of modern sci-fi horror forever.

1980’s movie posters don’t really come any better looking than Barry Jackson’s decapitated Statue of Liberty artwork for John Carpenter’s quintessential sci-fi actioner “Escape From New York”. This impressive, country of origin film poster from is stunning and presented in beautiful rolled (as issued) condition. A magnificent unrestored, original example of a truly iconic poster that represents a fine piece of cinematic movie memorabilia, from one of the modern masters of genre film making.

You probably couldn’t find better movie from the 1980’s that introduces such an iconic cult character in Kurt Russell’s Snake Plissken (criminally only used in one more movie) or sums up the period quite like John Carpenter’s quintessential sci-fi actioner “Escape From New York”. Carpenter always a well regarded and popular film maker has enjoyed a huge renaissance in more recent years so it was no surprise that this title was one of four seminal movies by the director re-released by Studio Canal in 2018, remastered in 4K, with the others being “They Live”, “Prince of Darkness” and “The Fog”. All four movies had a strictly limited cinematic release and were accompanied a newly designed poster campaign (quads and one-sheets) by leading artist Matt Ferguson. Ferguson’s unique artistic style is evident throughout the four, each with its very own unique colour palette. A number of these full-size 30″ x 40″ UK quad styles were also released as a limited edition art print by Vice Press. Identical to the cinematic quad, in fact exactly the same – same paper, printer etc these were issued as timed releases each signed and hand-numbered by Matt Ferguson. Offered here is one of these signed art prints numbered #48 from a print run of only 231. Originally rolled (as issued) it presents in excellent condition. A cool, cult poster that represents very collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from one of the greatest and most influential director’s who is still actively working in the film industry.

“A Story of a mystery…A mystery inside worlds within worlds…Unfolding around a woman…A woman in love and in trouble.”
Designed by graphic designer Mister S. for the advertising agency Empire Design, this original 2006 UK quad poster for David Lynch’s mystery drama thriller “Inland Empire” features striking, colourful imagery of Laura Dern with the night-time Los Angeles skyline a fitting backdrop. With its simple, distinctive, imagery this rolled (as issued) example presents to superb effect, providing a high quality and very rare film poster from one of Cinema’s most revered cult directors.
Trivia: This is the last feature film directed by David Lynch. All of his other film projects since have been short films, music videos, documentaries, or TV episodes. In 2012, Lynch stated in an interview with the Los Angeles Times that he lacked the inspiration to start a new movie project, but “If I got an idea that I fell in love with, I’d go to work tomorrow”. In 2017 while promoting Twin Peaks (2017), Lynch was reported to have retired from directing feature films. But in January 2025, Lynch died despite clarifying years prior to his death that his words were misconstrued by reiterating, “I did not say I quit cinema. Simply that nobody knows what the future holds.”

Francis Ford Coppola’s multi Oscar winning masterpiece “The Godfather” is THE GREATEST FILM EVER MADE with this limited edition art print by the artist Paul Mann, the best ever poster produced for this crime classic. Mann’s artwork and use of colour is breath taking, and this needs to be seen in person to fully appreciate the quality. Printed onto Platinum Etching Paper with a giclee finish it appears painted. A private commission with a print run of only 150 this has been hand-numbered #23. This example displays to excellent effect and is an outstanding example of an alternative movie poster for a film, that is a phenomenon. An exquisite Mafia epic with outstanding performances, Coppola got everything right, creating a cinematic event with an immeasurable influence on everyday culture and life.
Trivia: The smack that Vito gives Johnny Fontane was not in the script. Marlon Brando improvised the smack and Al Martino‘s confused reaction was real. According to James Caan, “Martino didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.”

Kleinsmith’s artwork and use of bold colour is very clever with more than a nod to the Eastern European school of poster design. Full of classic Godfather symbolism – the severed horse’s head, oranges from the Don’s garden and a blood splatter that features all of the Corleone Family – subtly stating that the Family has blood in its history. Commissioned for a limited screening at the Alamo Drafthouse theatre in 2009, this fine example has been hand-numbered #253 from a print run of only 285. It displays to excellent effect and is an outstanding example of an alternative movie poster for a film, that is a phenomenon. Trivia: The distinctive snakeskin jacket Sailor wears in the film was actually Nicolas Cage‘s own. Cage asked director David Lynch if he could wear the jacket in the film, as a tribute to Marlon Brando‘s role in The Fugitive Kind (1960). After filming was completed, Cage gave his jacket to Laura Dern.
