One for the true Bond collectors and those who appreciate movie posters as an art form. This is one of the most visually stunning poster designs created for a Bond movie, for the French release of “From Russia With Love” (Bons Baisers de Russie) by artist Boris Grinsson. This same imagery was chosen for the front cover of the book ‘The Official 007 Collection James Bond Movie Posters’, which features an exclusive selection of 007 film posters from the collection of Eon Productions. Although a re-release the only difference in artwork to the original 1964 release is additional printer information along the bottom right edge and it is also worth noting that France was the only major country to screen “From Russia With Love” in the 1980s, with no releases in the United States or Britain. In Sean Connery’s second outing as Bond, he willingly falls into an assassination plot involving a naive Russian beauty in order to retrieve a Soviet encryption device that was stolen by SPECTRE. “From Russia With Love” remains on of the very best of the James Bond franchise. This is quintessential James Bond with Grinsson paying homage to Eric Pulford’s now famous Connery, Bond pose – used on every marketing campaign since. Connery (as Bond) is surrounded by key characters from the movie including a beautiful illustration of actress Daniela Bianchi (Tatiana Romanova) with Robert Shaw (Red Grant) as the SPECTRE hardman lurking in the background – the exotic city of Istanbul acts as the perfect backdrop. This early re-release from the 1980s is presented conservation linen backed and appears rolled, with minimal restoration it presents to excellent effect and looks magnificent, with vibrant bright unfaded colours. It doesn’t get much better than this, an eye-catching piece of James Bond memorabilia.
Trivia: Although he had his reservations about the choice of Sir Sean Connery for the part of James Bond, after seeing him in this movie, Ian Fleming was completely won over by the actor. In fact, as a result, Fleming added a Scottish ancestry to Bond’s character in later novels.

A personal favourite; film and poster (I’m tied between this by Michel Landi, Kerfyser and Terpning’s) fully deserving of the reverence it is held in. With artwork by Michel Landi (from a design by Georges Kerfyser), this original 1971 re-release French ‘Grande‘ Affiche film poster for “Lawrence of Arabia” (Lawrence d’Arabie) is a truly stunning piece featuring an incredible orange colour palette that allude to the heat of the desert and an incredible image of O’Toole as Lawrence as an impressive backdrop. A real find in such high grade condition, benefitting from being conservation linen backed with only light restoration to the original foldlines. A magnificent example that looks even more spectacular in the larger format of the French ‘Grande’ that displays and presents to excellent effect and represents an extremely scarce & highly collectable item of authentic movie memorabilia for what is without argument one of the greatest movies ever made.
Trivia: On his first location scouting trip in Jordan, director Sir David Lean discovered the remains of the Turkish locomotives and railroad tracks T.E. Lawrence had destroyed during the Arab Revolution. After forty years in the sun, they hadn’t even rusted.

Incredibly rare original 1971 French Grande “Le Mans” movie poster. Any paper from this sought after Steve McQueen motor racing title is sought after, with the French Grande design considered one of the very best for this iconic McQueen movie. Beautiful, photo realistic painted artwork by Rene Ferracci, featuring a stunning image of McQueen as a backdrop to the race cars, that in this large format is particularly impressive. Originally folded (as issued) this unrestored example presents and displays to very good effect with only minimal age and handling wear. A film where any posters are genuinely scarce and very hard to find due to the very limited cinematic release at the time. It has (over time) become an iconic and much admired motor sports film showing just why Steve McQueen was the true King of Cool…Highly recommended; a personal favourite, classic and elegant…A great looking piece of truly collectable movie and motor racing memorabilia and it’s STEVE MCQUEEN ! …“Racing’s important to men who do it well. Trivia: The 1970 911S Porsche driven by Steve McQueen in the opening scenes (and owned by his Solar Productions) was auctioned in 2011 and brought in $1.375 million and his worn racing suit from the movie sold for $960.000
