Luc Besson’s 1994 dark action thriller “Leon: The Professional” remains one his most celebrated movies. Showing in only a handful of ‘art-house’ cinemas the advertising campaign was very low key and the distinctive British one sheet movie poster that accompanied the limited cinema release is truly scarce. It’s an impressive, eye-catching design with incredible use of bold colours (red and black) and it came as no surprise the imagery was re-used for the video release. Originally rolled (as issued) it presents in original unrestored condition and displays to excellent effect. A very hard to find poster in any condition, which makes this high grade rolled example a real talking piece. Hugely collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from a truly stylish cult classic movie of the 90’s.
TRIVIA: Luc Besson got the idea of doing this movie while working on his previous movie, Nikita(1990). In that film’s third act, Victor the Cleaner appears to deal with the aftermath of Nikita’s botched mission. Realizing the potential of the character was underused in that movie, Besson decided to create a story that focused on the activities of such a character. Both Victor and Leon appear dressed in a long wool coat, sunglasses and a knit cap. Both are played by Jean Reno. The film’s working title was “The Cleaner”.

A truly influential horror classic…Tobe Hooper’s adaption of the Stephen King vampire novel “Salem’s Lot” was crying out for a sequel, sadly Larry Cohen’s 1987 offering “A Return to Salem’s Lot” isn’t a patch on the original. Yes, the movie had a brief cinematic release of about a week before hitting the video stores. What it does have going for it is an incredible (if slightly mis-leading) horror poster to promote it. Adapting the unmistakable lettering from ‘Salem’s Lot’ with an image of the main vampire antagonist, Kurt Barlow (he doesn’t feature in the sequel). This original 1987 British video film features great horror imagery featuring Barlow towering over the town of Jerusalem’s Lot. If you are a fan of the King novel and the horror genre this is an extremely desirable and very rare poster. In excellent unrestored condition this rolled (as issued) example presents & displays to superb effect and represents an exciting and scarce item of original horror film movie memorabilia.
Trivia: A rare instance in which a successful TV miniseries was followed up by a theatrically-released sequel.
