  Sean Connery’s fourth appearance as James Bond is celebrated in this officially licensed, 007 Spy Guise, fan-club-commissioned edition of the classic “Thunderball” quad artwork. The explosive panoramic design combines Robert McGinnis’ sophisticated character illustration with Frank McCarthy’s dynamic action imagery, creating one of the most recognisable alternative campaigns in the history of 007.

  Bond takes centre stage with his jet pack and Walther PPK, surrounded by underwater combat, sharks, the Disco Volante and glamorous figures from Terence Young’s spectacular 1965 adventure. Bold slogans including “Look Up! Look Down! Look Out!” and “James Bond Does It Everywhere!” perfectly capture the film’s confident humour, exotic danger and large-scale spectacle. In homage to the original 1965 UK quad design this example includes the misspelt name of Jack Whittingham.

  Issued under licence in 1995, with most posters remaining in the hands of Bond collectors this, rare to market example is hand-numbered #4026 from a limited edition of 5,000. Presented rolled and remaining in superb condition, its wide cinematic composition and celebrated artwork give it tremendous visual impact, making it an exceptional display piece for collectors of Sean Connery, James Bond and classic illustrated film advertising.

  Trivia: The dictionary definition of the word “Thunderball” is, it was a military term used by U.S. soldiers to describe the mushroom cloud seen during the testing of atomic bombs. Hence its use as a title, because this would be the result of S.P.E.C.T.R.E. detonating the stolen atomic bombs.
