“When You Can’t Breathe You Can’t Scream”e
“Anaconda” is listed among the 100 Most Enjoyably Bad Movies Ever Made in Golden Raspberry Award founder John Wilson‘s book The Official Razzie Movie Guide and is reported to be one of Dame Helen Mirren’s favourite movies. A huge cult following and a guilty pleasure for many with a cinema poster that promises a lot more than the film delivers – it’s an eye catching ‘eyes without a face’ (EWAF) design featuring the titular Anaconda. This rolled (as issued) UK quad, from first year of release 1997 presents to superb effect with a deep black background and yellow eyes that pop from the paper. It’s a very rare scarce original poster from a true cult movie of the genre.
Trivia: Within the movie you can really see two scenes with real anacondas: the first scene is when they blow up the barrier that obstructs the river, after the explosion several of the snakes that fall into the boat are Green Anacondas you can also see a boa constrictor (another of the largest snakes in the Amazon rainforest); The second scene is when Terri enters the anaconda’s nest where the snakes they show are real green anacondas.

Not sure if that’s gonna work, but, uh, let’s see what else. Um, Chick wants a full week’s Emperor’s Package at Caesar’s Palace. Um – hey, you guys wouldn’t be able to tell us who actually killed Kennedy, would ya?”
Michael Bay’s spectacular science-fiction blockbuster “Armageddon” is represented here by its dramatic original US one-sheet cinema poster. The minimalist design surrounds the Earth with a vast fiery ring, creating an ominous image of planetary destruction, while the burning title and stark black centre heighten the sense of approaching catastrophe.
Released in 1998 and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, “Armageddon” follows a team of deep-core drillers recruited by NASA to prevent an enormous asteroid from destroying Earth. Bruce Willis, plays Harry Stamper and leads an ensemble cast that includes Ben Affleck, Liv Tyler, Billy Bob Thornton, Steve Buscemi, Michael Clarke Duncan, Will Patton and Peter Stormare.
Measuring approximately 27 × 40 inches, the poster features the original July 1st release date and full theatrical billing block. Presented rolled, as issued, and remaining in excellent condition, its bold colours and simple apocalyptic imagery give it tremendous visual impact. A superb display piece for collectors of Bruce Willis, Michael Bay and 1990s blockbuster cinema.
Trivia: Jerry Bruckheimer remembers getting a call from Michael Bay during post-production one day. Bay explained to the producer that he had heard that Godzilla (1998) was going to have a full soundtrack and didn’t understand why Armageddon didn’t. There were only a few moments in their film that had actual songs included on the soundtrack, but one of these songs was an Aerosmith song, likely their cover of “Come Together” over the montage scene where NASA is picking up all the men. They had a song they wanted to use, “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” written by Diane Warren, and Bruckheimer and Bay decided they wanted Aerosmith to perform it. They invited the band to come to the editing room and watch clips from the film. Aerosmith was blown away and recorded the song three days later. It later got an Oscar nomination for Best Song.

Marvel Studios’ “LOKI” features the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new Disney+ series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron directs “LOKI” and Michael Waldron is head writer. Presented here in original unrestored condition this beautiful 2021 rolled (as issued) example displays to excellent effect with the minimal of handling wear. Only ever released as a one-sheet poster in the United States and printed exclusively for the US market to promote the first Season of “LOKI” this is a truly scarce poster and highly sought after. With Tom Hiddleston’s Loki already firmly established as a fans favourite this impressive item represents a fine addition for any collector of original Marvel Studio posters or comic book fan memorabilia.
A beautiful movie poster for Wes Anderson’s best film to date, the multi Oscar winning 2014 production “The Grand Budapest Hotel”. Designed by creative arts agency BLT Communications, this original 2014 UK Quad film poster is the Style B version featuring the titular hotel and has been finished in a vintage / retro style which looks quite amazing; very impressive and the landscape layout of the British quad is the best way to display the imagery. Although a huge success with audiences and critics alike the movie is considered “art-house” or “independent” and had a very limited cinema release meaning any paper from the title is truly scarce. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks and displays to excellent effect. “The Grand Budapest Hotel” poster design has become a modern cinematic classic, that appeals not only to film enthusiasts but also to collectors of design, fashion and contemporary art. With its striking pink façade and storybook alpine setting, it makes an exceptional display piece and remains one of the most desirable modern film posters on the market, valued for both its cultural significance and long-term collectability.
Trivia: Ralph Fiennes partly based his character’s vocal traits on English comic actor Leonard Rossiter.

“The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” was a cult success on its release with Wes Anderson’s loyal fanbase hailing another solid cinematic offering, it is most certainly an unusual film. It’s something of a collage of colorful imagery, fragmented shots, quirky music, strange characters, bizarre situations, and amusing montages – it perfectly suits the artistic style of one of my favourite alternative movie poster artists – Ise Ananphada, with this limited edition (a print run of only 175), hand-numbered screen print for “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” one of the best (if not the best) for the title and has been created using fifteen (15) different coloured inks. Originally rolled (as issued) this art print from 2020 is a real eye-catcher that looks and displays to excellent effect and represents an extremely hard to find, modern original collectable movie memorabilia from a truly exceptional writer/director and a supremely talented artist.
Trivia: The red woollen caps worn by the characters are a reference to Jacques-Yves Cousteau, famed underwater film-maker and co-inventor of the modern aqualung.
