  Ray Harryhausen’s legendary stop-motion spectacle “Jason and the Argonauts” is celebrated in this richly illustrated alternative movie poster created by Swedish artist Kilian Eng in 2020. Known for his intricate linework, imaginative environments and distinctive retro-futurist style, Eng reinterprets the film’s unforgettable climactic battle within an ornate border inspired by classical Greek architecture.

  The composition places Jason amid an advancing army of skeletal warriors, capturing the sequence that became one of the defining achievements of fantasy cinema. Its sunlit Mediterranean palette, detailed ruins and individually rendered skeletons reward close inspection while reflecting the mythological scale of the Argonauts’ quest for the Golden Fleece.

  Hand-numbered #109 from a limited edition of only 180, the poster has been signed and character-inscribed by Gary Raymond, who played Acastus. The signature was obtained in person at the London Film Fair on 25 January 2026, providing excellent provenance.

  Presented rolled, as issued, and remaining in superb condition, this highly collectable poster makes a magnificent display piece for admirers of Kilian Eng, Ray Harryhausen and classic fantasy cinema.

  Trivia: After Ray Harryhausen received the Gordon E. Sawyer Award recognizing his contributions to the film industry at the Oscars’ Science & Technical Ceremony in 1992, Tom Hanks, the host of the event, said “Some people say Citizen Kane (1941) or Casablanca (1942). I say ‘Jason and the Argonauts’ is the greatest movie ever made.”
