Long before Tim Burton re-invented him and Chris Chris Nolan re-imagined him there was “Batman” 1960’s style, as the decade’s most popular TV show was bat-ransported to the big screen. Such a gloriously camp, cheesy movie deserves a special poster and this original Limited Edition Martin Ansin lithograph doesn’t disappoint. Produced by Mondo Galleries for the “75 Years of Batman” anniversary these specially commissioned posters sold out immediately on release to the public. Featuring Batman, Robin and a gallery of all their nefarious villains it certainly is a WOW factor poster; unrestored with deep rich colours and beautiful graphics, this originally rolled example is numbered #4 from a print run of only 375 and a very cool looking poster…I am a huge Batman fan (all incarnations) and this is one of my favourite Batman posters…A rare chance to purchase one of the scarcest Batman posters ever produced and a magnificent item of collectable movie memorabilia from an icon of modern pop culture.

Acclaimed film maker Alejandro G. Iñárritu not only directed, co-wrote and produced the multi award winning 2014 movie “BiRDMAN” but he also took the photograph that Mark W. Carroll incorporated into the poster design used in the marketing campaign. Tom Cruise is one of the greatest movie stars in cinema history and certainly one of the most energetic and action centric actors, so it’s no surprise that in 2014 he took on a project that he was perfectly suited. Set in a war torn future, Cruise’s character Cage is a man fighting in a war against aliens and must relive the same day every time he dies until he can find a way to stop them invading the Earth. “Edge of Tomorrow” is a very clever, stylish (the exo-battle suits look super cool) time travel movie with some incredible action set pieces. The imagery featured here by Graphic design agency Concept Arts (regular collaborators with Cruise) on this 2014 US one sheet features both Cruise and Emily Blunt (she plays the elite warrior – Rita, who mentors Cruise) in full battle mode. Originally rolled (as issued) this presents and displays to excellent effect and represents a hugely collectable and totally cool piece of movie memorabilia for one of popular cinema’s most loved actors.
Trivia: Tom Cruise didn’t want the exo-suits to be too CGI, so it would be more real to the audience. He showed up two months early to research and develop the suit. He thought its weapons were fun and cool. Emily Blunt was unprepared for the weight of the suit which was between 85-90 pounds, and the armaments between 120-125 pounds.

Hall H, Comicon 2012 and Marvel Studios is again breaking box-office records, this time with the super hero blockbuster “The Avengers”. Riding the wave of success sequels to the hugely successful Captain America & Thor movies are announced as the assembled audience goes wild with anticipation…then an audible gasp, as the third film for 2014 is revealed, what ? “Guardians of the Galaxy” ? … A bizarre assembly of misfits and losers which includes a gun-wielding genetically altered raccoon and a fighting tree creature whose could only speak a single phrase…“I am Groot”. Marvel was taking a chance, but needn’t have worried…Guardians was critical and commercial juggernaut which redefined the super hero genre and direction Marvel was to take. Because of the ‘risk’ factor the advertising budget was not as extravagant as the studios previous offerings, making paper from the film genuinely a lot a scarcer than Iron Man, Thor, Avengers etc. Hence the rarity for any of the film posters produced to accompany the release. Based on photographs by Michael Mueller, design agency BLT Communications certainly pushed the right buttons and created a stunning all-action, epic poster for this 2014 one-sheet. An amazing spectrum of purple and blue colours and frantic energy, it is a great looking image. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks and displays to excellent effect with minimal of handling wear, absolutely stunning. Guaranteed original this represents a scarce item of modern original collectable movie memorabilia from a truly exciting and cool film.
Trivia: According to James Gunn, the film’s soundtrack is composed mainly of 1970s and 1980s songs, as they are part of Quill’s memories of Earth: “The music is one of those touchstones we have to remind us that Quill is a real person from planet Earth who’s just like you and me, except that he’s in this big outer space adventure.”

A superb and eye-catching alternative movie poster by Enzo Sciotti for the cult dark horror adaptation of the best selling Anne Rice novel “Interview with the Vampire”. Each vampire Lestat (Cruise), Louis (Pitt), Armand (Banderas) and the young Claudia (Kirsten Dunst) is beautifully portrayed by Sciotti on this 2020 Hand-Numbered (# 16/45) Private Commission Screen Print. Printed using eighteen (18) coloured inks onto Neenah Stardream Eris Metallic Paper, the colours truly pop from the paper (the photo doesn’t do this justice) it almost appears to be painted. Presented in rolled (as issued) condition it represents an outstanding, piece of cinematic memorabilia and artwork.
Trivia: Upon learning that Tom Cruise had been cast as Lestat, Rice was livid and stated Cruise could not carry the part, calling the casting “so bizarre; it’s almost impossible to imagine how it’s going to work”. Rice recused herself from the production and did not view the film until a producer sent her a VHS copy. Rice was so impressed by Cruise’s performance that she wrote him a letter of apology and recorded a two-minute video endorsing the film that was included as a pre-feature on mid-1990s VHS releases.

Although a relatively recent release any paper for Keanu Reeves’ John Wick franchise is extremely desirable. This incredibly popular film series is always complemented by an equally incredible series of movie posters and for the 2024 re-release the acclaimed Batman and comic book artist, Jock was commissioned to create something special for the 10th Anniversary, and he has not disappointed. Offered here is the Style B, US/International one-sheet for “John Wick” which features the ‘Baba-Yaga’ imagined in Jock’s unique style. Distinctive with its bold use of red and black colour, it really is an impressive looking poster. Originally rolled (as issued) this displays to excellent effect with only very minimal handling wear. Having a very limited cinematic release of only two days this is a truly scarce item of modern original collectable movie memorabilia from one of the best action franchises in recent memory that looks very very cool !
Trivia: Keanu Reeves became so proficient in tactical training, that his instructors said he was almost TOO good, at performing many tasks, such as reloading a magazine, faster and better than professional soldiers would in live-fire combat situations.

This incredibly popular film series which has changed the way action movies are made has spawned (too date) three sequels, a documentary (Wick is Pain), a TV series (The Continental) and character spin-off movie with Ana de Armas as Ballerina. Complemented by an equally incredible series of movie posters this example designed by creative arts agency LA which features ‘Baba-Yaga’ John Wick in close up aiming a gun is without doubt the rarest and most sought after. When first released in 2014 it took cinema audiences by surprise as they expected an another average action movie starring an unfashionable actor who hadn’t made a decent movie for years – JOHN WICK changed that overnight as Keanu let everyone know – “I’m thinkin’ I’m back” . Because of low Studio expectation the initial marketing budget was minimal which resulted in only a limited number of cinema posters printed – they are incredibly scarce. Offered here is an original, first release (2014), country of origin US one-sheet. Dark & moody, it really is an impressive and eye-catching design. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks and displays superbly with minimal only handling wear; the dark shades of green, purples and blacks are deep and unfaded. This is the first time in over nine years that I have managed to source one. It truly is one of the most collectable movie posters in recent memory from a supremely influential action franchise that looks very very cool !
Trivia: The film reunites Keanu Reeves, Daniel Bernhardt, and Randall Duk Kim, along with producers-directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch, all of whom were involved in The Matrix Trilogy.

“To Cut a Long Story Short”…It’s not many films that get a a London premiere at the Royal Albert Hall, but then it’s not every film that tells the story of meteoric rise, fall and ultimate reunion of new romantic pop sensations, Spandau Ballet. The advertising campaign was very low key and the UK film poster that accompanied the extremely limited cinema release is truly scarce. It really is a great snap shot of the 80’s image of the band from their first visit to New York. Originally rolled this incredibly rare example displays as new. Never commercially available the posters for this release are unbelievably scarce…fantastic item of Spandau Ballet / New Romantics / film / cultural memorabilia presented in investment grade condition !
