Distinctive Alex Ebel artwork makes this original 1980 country of original US one sheet movie poster for Sean S. Cunningham’s slasher masterpiece “Friday the 13th” extremely sought after by collector’s of the horror genre. Introducing Jason Voorhees as one of the triumvirate of 80’s slasher horror icons that includes Wes Craven’s Freddy Kruger & John Carpenter’s Michael Myers. A multitude of sequels, match ups and remakes have been released since this premiered but none match this genre defining classic. Originally folded (as issued) this unrestored example displays and presents to excellent effect with only minimal age and handling wear with bright & unfaded colours. It represents a fine piece of sought after cinema memorabilia from one of the defining ‘slasher’ flick Film’s.
Trivia: The filmmakers never intended to make this the launching pad for the franchise that followed. According to Victor Miller, Jason Voorhees was only meant as a plot device, and not intended to continue on his mother’s grisly work.

This is certainly one of the most intense films Scorsese has directed, and one of the most important of his career. It is an iconic motion picture that will stand the test of time for years and years to come. The movie poster that accompanied the Czech release of Martin Scorsese’s Oscar winning Jake La Motta biopic “Raging Bull” was equally as striking. Czech artist Zdenek Ziegler has impressively adapted the close up image of La Motta (De Niro) from the US & British campaigns and added a ‘devilish’ tone to the design. The originally rolled (as issued), unrestored example offered here has minimal handling and displays & presents to excellent effect with deep unfaded colours. Very rare, as it received a very limited release in Czechoslovakia and was only shown in a handful of ‘art-house’ cinemas. A must have title for the serious collector or fan it represents a fantastic item of good looking collectable movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The reasons why the film was made in black and white were mainly to differentiate it from Rocky (1976), as well as for period authenticity. Another reason was that Martin Scorsesedidn’t want to depict all that blood in a color picture. Also, in the book, Jake LaMotta says “Now, sometimes, at night, when I think back, I feel like I’m looking at an old black and white movie of myself. Why it should be black and white I don’t know, but it is.”

The originally rolled (as issued), unrestored example offered here has minimal handling and displays & presents to excellent effect with beautiful colour tones and dramatic boxing imagery. Incredibly rare, as it received a very limited release and was only shown in a handful of ‘Park Circus’ affiliated cinemas. A must have title for the serious collector or fan it represents a fantastic item of good looking collectible movie memorabilia.
Trivia: In preparation for his role, Robert De Niro went through extensive physical training, then entered in three genuine Brooklyn boxing matches and won two of them.

Trivia: Boba Fett is never referred to by name in this movie. He is always referred to as “the bounty hunter” by other characters. However, a deleted scene included in the Blu-ray set shows Leia tending to Luke’s wounds and says “a bounty hunter named Boba Fett” has taken Han Solo.

This pure artwork imagery (no title or credits) features Roger Kastel’s ‘Gone With the Wind’ artwork featuring a swooning Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) about to be kissed by the romantic hero Han Solo (Harrison Ford)…a Scarlett O’Hara and Rhett Butler in space. Poster printer, Gala were one of the official licensees for aftermarket Star Wars posters sold to the general public band have here used an early alternative design to the regular final release cinematic poster which was recalled from use as Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) was not featured in Kastel’s finished artwork.
