“Every Generation Has A Legend.”

“Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker” is a continuation of the Star Wars saga created by George Lucas and set over thirty years after Return of the Jedi and a few months after the events of “The Last Jedi”. The release of each instalment is always accompanied by a huge global marketing and merchandising campaign with the movie posters produced always being of the highest artistic quality. And I’m pleased to say that Episode IX keeps up the high standard. With artwork by Paul Shipper the finished poster has magnificent dark powerful  imagery as our heroes are showcased, highlighted by Rey (Daisy Ridley) with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) acting as an ominous backdrop. It certainly pays homage to some of the iconic ‘Star Wars’ artwork popularised in the campaigns for the ‘Original Trilogy’ . The original Advance IMAX (Real D 3D) one-sheet offered here is full size measuring 27″ x 40″ and is double sided. Guaranteed original and presented here in excellent unrestored condition this beautiful rolled (as issued) example has minimal handling wear and looks incredible. A rare and desirable example of original Star Wars movie memorabilia from what has become one of the most collectable and popular modern movie franchises…“Confronting fear is the destiny of a Jedi. Your destiny.”

Trivia: During the massive crowd celebration scene, C-3PO says that this event happens once every 42 years. This was the time between the first Star Wars movie to be released in 1977 and this film. However, the official time line in The Rise of Skywalker Visual Dictionary states that in the events of this film take place 35 years after that of A New Hope.

Film Description

Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker Movie Poster

“While the First Order continues to ravage the galaxy, Rey finalizes her training as a Jedi. But danger suddenly rises from the ashes as the evil Emperor Palpatine mysteriously returns from the dead. While working with Finn and Poe Dameron to fulfill a new mission, Rey will not only face Kylo Ren once more, but she will also finally discover the truth about her parents as well as a deadly secret that could determine her future and the fate of the ultimate final showdown that is to come.”

The teaser trailer and the title The Rise of Skywalker was announced at the Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, Illinois on April 12, 2019.

When George Lucas originally laid out plans for twelve episodes, then reduced that number to nine episodes, he said that C-3PO and R2-D2 would be the only characters to appear in all nine. This will prove to be true, as Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, the only other characters to appear in every film of both the original and prequel trilogies did not appear in the sequel trilogy. Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) will also become the only actor to appear in all nine films.

Though they are no longer the main characters, each film in the sequel trilogy was meant to showcase one of the main characters from the original trilogy. The Force Awakens focused on Han, The Last Jedi on Luke, and The Rise of Skywalker will reportedly focus on Leia. This actually mirrors the original trilogy, in which Luke interacts with a central character from the prequel trilogy. The original “Star Wars” focused on Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Empire Strikes Back on Yoda, and Return of the Jedi” on the Emperor.

Trivia: The only Star Wars movie for which Carrie Fisher received top billing, as well as the only Skywalker Saga movie to give top billing to a woman. As of 2019, the only other Star Wars film to give top billing to a woman was Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) for which Felicity Jones received top billing.
