Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope

“May The Force Be with You…”
Character defining imagery from George Lucas’ ‘Star Wars’ series with this extremely rare, “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope” original Czech Flyer (horizontal) movie poster from first year of release in Czechoslovakia 1991. Featuring close ups of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) wielding their blaster and crossbow all offset against the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon. Originally flat/unfolded this displays to excellent effect and would make for a fantastic addition to any collection or as a one-off display piece. Truly impressive eye catching design and a fine piece of country unique artwork that represents highly collectable movie poster memorabilia for one of cinema’s greatest movie franchises of all time and a pop culture phenomenon that blasted then young stars careers into orbit and made George Lucas Hollywood name.
Trivia: The word “Jedi” is derived from the Japanese words “Jidai Geki,” which translate as “period adventure drama.” A period adventure drama is a Japanese television soap opera program set in the samurai days. George Lucas mentioned in an interview that he saw a “Jidai Geki” program on television while in Japan a year or so before the movie was made, and he liked the word.
