“The warm, wonderful full-length motion picture about the man who became A LEGEND IN HIS OWN TIME !”

Although not artistically one of the greatest film posters ever produced it certainly is memorable and striking with black ink drawing of a performing Cash, black lettering, all offset against a bright orange background. Retaining a certain charm, much like the great man himself…“Johnny Cash The Man His World His Music” offers a fly-on-the-wall account that follows the legendary singer on tour in the USA during the late sixties. Featuring appearances from music legends June Carter Cash & Bob Dylan it is very popular with Cash and music fans. Offered here is a beautiful original unrestored UK quad film poster from first year of release 1969, originally folded (as issued) it displays and presents to very good effect with. An uncommon poster, that rarely comes to market, this scarce example represents a fine piece of very collectable original film and music memorabilia.

Film Description

Johnny Cash The Man His World His Music Movie Poster

“A fly-on-the-wall account that follows the legendary singer on tour in the USA during the late sixties. Crammed with superb music footage, the film also takes time out to relax with the man behind the most famous voice in country music. Whether visiting family or friends, winding down backstage or on a solitary hunting expedition, Johnny Cash always finds a song to fit the occasion.”

“Johnny Cash The Man His World His Music” was filmed during Cash’s tour of the United States in the late Sixties, director Robert Elfstrom offers a carefully airbrushed account of the star’s life on and off stage. While attracting huge audiences wherever he goes, as well as winning awards, he remains eminently normal – the kind of man who willingly signs autographs, listens to pieces of doggerel composed by adoring fans, and poses for innumerable photos taken in the pre-smartphone era.

In sequences shot in his tour bus Cash is shown interacting with his immediate family (including June Carter Cash) as well as his crew. As they travel along endless stretches of road, Cash reminisces about his humble past while enjoying his present life, and thanks God for having helped him achieve success. He is also shown putting together his latest recordings; like any artist worth his salt, he is meticulous about every aspect of his work, including orchestrations, pronunciation, and sound.

The documentary offers fascinating insights into aspects of American popular cultures during the late Sixties, especially country music. With contributions from other great artists of that time, including Bob Dylan and Carl Perkins and can certainly can be described as entertaining.
