Original country of origin 1984 US One-Sheet Movie Poster for the Eddie Murphy blockbuster “Beverly Hills Cop”. Great imagery of Murphy lounging on a bright red Mercedes SL convertible (the top car of the early 80’s) parked on Rodeo Drive. Originally rolled (as issued) this fine example looks and displays to excellent effect with minimal handling wear with artwork perfectly suited to the portrait style format. Without a doubt this film sums up the 80’s perfectly with a ‘feel-good’ vibe that makes for a very collectable piece movie memorabilia that looks very very cool !

Trivia: During his tirade at the Beverly Palms Hotel, Axel pretends to be writing an article called “Michael Jackson: Sitting on Top of the World” for “Rolling Stone” magazine. In real life, “Playboy” ran an article called “Eddie Murphy: Sitting on Top of the World.”

Film Description

“Detroit cop Axel Foley is delighted when he receives a surprise visit from his best friend Mikey Tandino, who lives in California. Not long after Mikey arrives in Detroit, Mikey is killed, right in front of Axel, by a man named Zack. Axel follows Zack to Beverly Hills, California, where Beverly Hills police department Lieutenant Andrew Bogomil assigns Detective Billy Rosewood and Rosewood’s partner, Sergeant John Taggart, to keep an eye on Axel. Axel visits his friend Jenny Summers, who works in an art gallery. With Jenny’s help, Axel discovers that Zack works for Jenny’s boss, Victor Maitland, the man who owns the art gallery. Maitland is a drug kingpin who is using the gallery as a front, and Maitland had Zack kill Mikey after Maitland accused Mikey of stealing some of Maitland’s bonds. With the help of Jenny, Billy, and Taggart, Axel does what he can to make sure Maitland and Zack won’t kill any more people.”

Without a doubt this action film sums up the 80’s; a feel-good movie with a great soundtrack and jaw-dropping stunts — like that shot in the opening chase sequence with the bus doing a powerslide. And of course, Eddie Murphy‘s hilariously funny one-liners serve as a comic contrast to the violence and profanity. Murphy became a true bankable superstar withBeverly Hills Cop. The film is an unconventional detective story that has Murphy, a Detroit police officer, go to Beverly Hills after his close friend is killed. Murphy wants to find out who killed his friend and why. What he discovers is one of the largest illegal drug fronts around in an art museum. Now it is up to Murphy to bring down the bad guys and save the day. Beverly Hills Cop is a film that showed the greatness of the 1980s. A pop-culture, box office hit that was funny and full of action and sported a smashing soundtrack. A nice film that is one of the most memorable money-makers of the decade that was the 80s.

41 x 81″ printed on paper. These were printed on two or three separate sheets designed to overlap, few survive. Used for larger advertising spaces, normally posted on walls, perfect for huge movie theatres the drive-in, where people could see them from a distance.
