  • Predator Movie Poster

    Predator

    £150.00

“It came for the thrill of the hunt…It picked the wrong man to hunt !”

One of the best films of the 1980’s and certainly one of Schwarzenegger’s finest roles, Predator is a film I’ve seen more times than I care to remember. Directed by John McTiernan, who would go on to helm “Die Hard” the following year (arguably the greatest action movie ever made), the film is an excellent mix of gung-ho action and sci-fi horror with a truly iconic monster (designed by Stan Winston). The rare and original Japanese B2 film poster offered here is the full ‘Arnie’ style from first year of release 1987 with his character ‘Dutch’ (Schwarzenegger) dominating the imagery. Considered a classic by Arnie’s legion of fans & collectors of the action / sci fi genre it is incredibly scarce in this format. Originally rolled (as issued) this beautiful unrestored example displays and presents to excellent effect…Sought after and extremely hard to find in this high grade condition it represents a fine piece of very collectable Arnold Schwarzenegger sci-fi action movie memorabilia.

Trivia: The mandibles of the Predator were the idea of James Cameron.

  • Robocop Alternative Movie Poster

    Robocop

    £195.00

“Part man. Part machine. All cop. The future of law enforcement.”

Based upon Rob Bottin’s iconic ‘robo’ suit design Paul Mann produced the perfect alternative movie poster to complement his graphics. A truly striking image for Paul Verhoeven’s ultra violent sci-fi masterpiece “Robocop” that is perfectly suited to the portrait format of this edition. Robocop is offset against a colourful background of supporting characters and action imagery, that are made to stand out when placed in front of the black background. It gives a depth that gives an almost 3D effect to the colour imagery. Printed by Mad Duck in 2022 this limited edition art print is hand-numbered #47 from a print run of 200. This excellent example presents and displays near perfectly and represents a fantastic piece of collectable movie memorabilia from one of the defining movies of the 80’s. The ‘original’ & BEST, “Robocop” is fondly remembered and spawned a popular TV show, two sequels and was recently remade as a ‘big budget’ CGI sci-fi actioner…“I’d buy that for a dollar !”

Trivia: The repeated line “I’d buy that for a dollar!” comes from Cyril M. Kornbluth‘s short story “The Marching Morons”, which presents a similarly cynical view of an over-commercialized future that’s desensitized to violence and war. A radio game show in that short story uses the line “I’d buy that for a quarter.” as its signature phrase.

  • Saturday Night Fever Movie Poster

    Saturday Night Fever

    £265.00

“You make it with some of these chicks then they think you gotta dance with them”

The influence of John Badham’s “Saturday Night Fever” cannot be understated. A cultural phenomenon that pretty much affected everyone at some point…music, dancing, fashion, attitudes & John Travolta; perfectly cast as the local walking cliche Tony Manero. And it’s the familiar title logo with the multi-lit coloured discotheque floor, John Travolta in the iconic white suite and co-star Karen Lynn Gorney that dominate this original, country of origin, 1977 UA one-sheet movie poster. Presented in the portrait format that is perfectly suited by the content. Originally tri-folded (as issued) with no central vertical foldline it displays and presents in excellent high grade condition and represents a fine item of important and influential cinema movie memorabilia…“Catch it !”

Trivia: John Travolta used two suits in the climax of the film; he had to switch suits between takes because one would become heavily soaked with sweat and had to be dried while he was wearing the other one for subsequent takes.

  • Sid & Nancy Movie Poster

    Sid & Nancy

    £65.00

“Sidney’s more than a mere bass player. He’s a fabulous disaster. He’s a symbol, a metaphor, he embodies the dementia of a nihilistic generation. He’s a fuckin’ star.”

One of the rarer posters from Ale Cox’s movie that was meant to define punk’s ‘Posh & Becks’. This is the 2016, 30th Anniversary re-release for the punk-rocku-drama “Sid & Nancy”. Considering it was such a bleak and colourless film the use of bright yellow and red as a main part of the design is unusual to say the least. Still it works & this originally rolled (as issued) version displays and presents to excellent effect and looks superb. If you were a fan, a punk or identify with the film then this is a great snapshot of the time, the pop culture and the genre.

Trivia: Gary Oldman lived on a diet of steamed fish and melon to lose enough weight to play the emaciated, heroin-addicted Sid, and was hospitalized when he went too far and became malnourished.

  • Star Wars Episode VI - Return of the Jedi 40th Anniversary Movie Poster

Star Wars Episode VI – Return of the Jedi 40th Anniversary

    £275.00

    “The Empire Falls…”

For the 40th Anniversary 2023 re-release of the George Lucas sci fi classic sequel “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi” Lucasfilm issued this amazing British one-sheet featuring the artwork of Matt Ferguson, the hugely successful artist responsible for some of the most memorable recent Marvel cinematic releases and the award winning, fan favourite 40th Anniversary design for ‘Empire Strikes Back’. This ‘updated’ style features  some of the best imagery from this instalment from the original trilogy with Luke Skywalker (now a Jedi Knight) and like many of the 1980 posters a dominant Darth Vader and the iconic scout walkers. Presented here in original unrestored condition this beautiful 2023  double-sided, rolled (as issued) example has deep unfaded vibrant colour tones and displays to excellent effect with the minimal of handling wear. With an extremely limited cinematic release in both the UK & USA  this is a truly scarce poster and highly sought after. As this is the American release it carries the tagline ‘Returns to Theatres April 28′. Already firmly established as a fans favourite this impressive item represents a fine addition for any collector of original movie posters or Star Wars fan memorabilia.

Trivia: A reason for filming under the guise of non-descript horror movie title, “Blue Harvest” was partly to put off any snoopers, and also because the production found out that if they mentioned they were working on the next Star Wars movie, suppliers would automatically ramp up their prices, assuming that money was no object for Lucasfilm.

  • Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones Movie Poster

Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones

    £175.00

“A Jedi Shall Not Know Anger. Nor Hatred. Nor Love.”

“Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones” was the second part of a new concept for the Star Wars franchise, being part of a new prequel trilogy created by George Lucas and set before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, introducing a new group of heroes & the early informative years of some well known ones. The release of any Star Wars film is always accompanied by a huge global marketing and merchandising campaign with the movie posters produced always being of the highest artistic quality. The IMAX “Size Matters Not…Except on an IMAX Screen” one-sheet poster featuring Yoda is a wonderful diversion from the more traditional, modern movie marketing campaign with this retro, period-style by Dave McMacken. Much scarcer than the regular film posters, being only created for IMAX cinemas they were printed in significantly lower numbers. Guaranteed original and presented here in fantastic unrestored condition this beautiful ROLLED (as issued) example looks fantastic with minimal handling wear; deep unfaded vibrant colour tones…A desirable example of original Star Wars movie memorabilia from what has become one of the most collectable and popular modern movie franchises.

Trivia: Like Ewan McGregor did in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999), Hayden Christensen made “light-saber noises” the first time he was handed one in rehearsal. After chuckling at the young star’s antics, George Lucas informed him that they probably had people in Sound Effects who could do a better job in post-production.
