  • Rise of the Footsoldier Movie Poster

    Rise of the Footsoldier

    £225.00

“It was the end of an era. But before the murders, the torture, the beatings and the ecstacy… before all of that, there was football. You see, football was where all the spite and the hatred first came from. On those terraces… well, it’s where it all began for me.”

Love it or hate it “Rise of the Footsoldier” is a modern classic with a huge cult following. Filmed in 2007 and based on a true story of Essex gangsters – Carlton Leach, Tony Tucker and pat Tate it faithfully recreates the 1990s in all of its glory, portraying a violent crime genre that is still going strong and showing no sign of flagging with four sequels to date. There is so little paper available for this title, making this original UK quad such a great find – it is ultra rare and the first time we have ever offered one for sale. The eye-catching black and white imagery created by Mister S is certainly striking as the cast are featured on the barrel of a shotgun Originally rolled (as issued), the poster displays beautifully and is presented in excellent condition with minimal handling wear and represents an extremely desirable piece of original British cinematic memorabilia.

Trivia: During the films opening scene in the morgue, the answering machine message left on Tony Tucker’s phone was the real life recording that Carlton left him the day after the shooting. This was confirmed by Carlton in an interview with James English.

    £195.00

“Part man. Part machine. All cop. The future of law enforcement.”

Based upon Rob Bottin’s iconic ‘robo’ suit design Paul Mann produced the perfect alternative movie poster to complement his graphics. A truly striking image for Paul Verhoeven’s ultra violent sci-fi masterpiece “Robocop” that is perfectly suited to the portrait format of this edition. Robocop is offset against a colourful background of supporting characters and action imagery, that are made to stand out when placed in front of the black background. It gives a depth that gives an almost 3D effect to the colour imagery. Printed by Mad Duck in 2022 this limited edition art print is hand-numbered #47 from a print run of 200. This excellent example presents and displays near perfectly and represents a fantastic piece of collectable movie memorabilia from one of the defining movies of the 80’s. The ‘original’ & BEST, “Robocop” is fondly remembered and spawned a popular TV show, two sequels and was recently remade as a ‘big budget’ CGI sci-fi actioner…“I’d buy that for a dollar !”

Trivia: The repeated line “I’d buy that for a dollar!” comes from Cyril M. Kornbluth‘s short story “The Marching Morons”, which presents a similarly cynical view of an over-commercialized future that’s desensitized to violence and war. A radio game show in that short story uses the line “I’d buy that for a quarter.” as its signature phrase.

Trivia: Realizing that the film was running behind schedule and over budget, director Paul Verhoeven and producer Jon Davison purposely did not film one crucial scene: Officer Murphy’s death. When production wrapped, they went back to Los Angeles and grimly informed the execs that Murphy’s death had not been filmed. After watching the footage they did film, the execs were so astonished by the aesthetics and performances they gave the filmmakers more money and they filmed the scene in a redecorated warehouse in Los Angeles.

Trivia: Darth Vader’s appearance in this film is meticulously patterned after his look in the original Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977). While Vader’s chest plate is uncovered in Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983), his costume initially had his Sith robes draped over his shield, as well as red lenses in the eye holes of the mask. Considering this film takes place mere days before the original film, the costume designers recreated Vader’s look down to the last detail.

“Sometimes It’s Hard To Say No”

    SHERLOCK: The Final Problem

    £150.00

“The world’s favourite detective has emerged from the fog…this is Sherlock for a new generation.”

When first aired in 2010 the television series “SHERLOCK” went on to receive rave reviews and a cult following, becoming one of the most successful TV shows ever produced being revered by critics and fans alike in its modern re-imagined and re-booted formula. So successful in fact that for the ‘final’ episode on January 15th 2017 the BBC decided to simultaneously broadcast it in cinemas as well as standard TV screens. The advertising campaign was one the most extensive ever commissioned by the BBC and the poster that accompanied the extremely limited (one night only) cinema release was truly exceptional. Highlighting the two stars (Benedict Cumberbatch & Martin Freeman) it really is stunning, dark and mysterious with a design perfectly suited to the landscape format of the UK quad film poster. Originally rolled this incredibly rare example displays to excellent effect. One of the best looking and most collectable film posters of recent years from a TV series that has become a global favourite. Never commercially available by the BBC these posters are unbelievably scarce and represent a marvellous piece of original collectable film & TV memorabilia…“All lives end; all hearts are broken. • Sleeping Beauty Movie Poster

    Sleeping Beauty

    £75.00

“Ablaze With Wonders !…Now the magic moment! Full-length feature fantasy – Beautiful beyond belief”

Walt Disney’s animated classic “Sleeping Beauty” has been re-released many times after its 1959 premiere but the artwork for the 1984 re-release in Japan is perhaps my favourite, whether it’s the colours or the composition I can’t make my mind – it’s just a fantastic looking poster. A magnificent, visual masterpiece of a poster as the film’s more stylised artwork makes the perfect transfer to paper. Beautiful design and artwork, bright bold blue colour palette and stunning animated imagery featuring Maleficent, Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip makes for an impressive looking poster. Originally rolled (as issued) this presents very well and is a fine example of rare and collectable original movie memorabilia for a much loved Disney classic exclusively created for this Japanese re-release.

Trivia: For the first time on a Disney animated feature, one man, Eyvind Earle, was in charge of the color styling, background design and overall look of the film, even painting the great majority of the production backgrounds. Earle’s modernistic approach to design and painting resulted in giving the film a bold, unique art style, even though his colleagues did not care for his production methods and art style while the film was in production. The elaborate background paintings usually took seven to ten days to paint. By contrast, a typical animation background takes one workday to complete.
