    An all-action sci-fi vista of a film poster for Glen A. Larson’s ‘epic’ “Battlestar Galactica”. Receiving a full cinematic release it was an edited together version of three TV shows released in the USA largely to cash in, on the still very popular ‘Star Wars’ phenomena. With some colourful, dynamic  sci-fi artwork by Robert Tanenbaum (a homage to Tom Chantrell’s famous art for ‘Star Wars’ perhaps ?) this original 1978 country of origin US one-sheet movie poster is presented in original unrestored, folded (as issued) condition. It displays to impactful effect with light age and handling wear; colours are deep and unfaded with some truly rip roaring laser blasting, robot, space ship adventure imagery. A cool item that represents a fantastic piece of very collectable and desirable original movie memorabilia for a much loved and hugely popular film and TV franchise.

    Trivia: John Dykstra, who worked on Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) used much of the technology developed for ILM in this movie, including his motion control camera, the so-called “Dykstraflex”.

    “Fire and Ice” is a cult animated feature, based on characters co-created by Ralph Bakshi and legendary fantasy artist Frank Frazetta, and was made using the process of rotoscoping, in which scenes were shot in live-action and then traced onto animation cels. And it is from the first year of release, 1983 that this Frazetta illustrated original British UK quad is from. Impressive and exciting poster artwork promising everything that the award winning artist could offer – Frazetta is regarded as one of the greatest fantasy and science fiction artists of all time, noted for comic books, paperback book covers, paintings, posters, LP record album covers and other media, with some examples of his painted original artwork selling for seven figures, making this film poster very good value for money. Presented in lovely unrestored, rolled (as issued) condition this is a marvellous item of 1980’s nostalgia and a great piece of original cinematic movie memorabilia

    Trivia: According to director Ralph Bakshi, the animators found working for producer Frank Frazetta to be so daunting that some of them even fainted when Frazetta visited the set.

    “When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives”. An early alternative lithograph for the phenomenally succesful HBO TV series “Game of Thrones”. Titled “The Harbinger”, this 2013 ‘Mondo’ screenprint features artwork by Ken Taylor and depicts the ‘three-eyed crow’, so significant in Bran Stark’s dreams. The landscape format perfectly suits the subject matter with the bright blood red sky of this ‘regular’ edition making it the best version to own. Limited to a print run of 440 this is hand-numbered #2. Originally rolled (as issued) it presents and displays to excellent effect and represents an outstanding piece of alternative movie memorabilia from one of the biggest TV shows in recent memory.

    Trivia: Game of Thrones is the first television series in history to be screened in IMAX theaters.

    Marvel Studios’ “Hawkeye” features the Avenger Hawkeye and ‘New Avenger’ Kate Bishop in a Disney+ series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Jeremy Renner returns as the title character, joined by Hailee Steinfeld who plays the apprentice archer Kate Bishop (both are featured on the poster) and a strong supporting cast with perhaps Florence Pugh – the new Black Widow? returning as Yelena Belova as does one of Marvels’s most iconic villains with Vincent D’Onofrio donning his trademark white suit as Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin. The clever design by BLT Communications was the first poster released promote the TV series. Presented here in original unrestored condition this beautiful 2021 rolled (as issued) example displays to excellent effect with the minimal of handling wear. Only ever released as a one-sheet poster in the United States and printed exclusively for the US market to promote the first Season of “Hawkeye” this is a truly scarce poster and highly sought after that represents a fine addition for any collector of original Marvel Studio posters or comic book fan memorabilia.

    Trivia: The TV show was originally tentatively planned as a movie, which was even included in Jeremy Renner‘s contract. However, Kevin Feige felt that it would be a better fit as a Disney+ show, and Renner agreed to the change.

The design of all three is heavily inspired by the Barack Obama “Hope” poster created by artist Shepard Fairey, finished in shades of red, beige and blue. This example looks and displays to excellent effect and represents an extremely hard to find, modern original collectable item of cinematic movie memorabilia from a truly talented and clever writer/director.

    Trivia: Keira Knightley is cited by the Minister for International Development Simon Foster as a good choice for a companion on a deserted island. Simon Foster is played by Tom Hollander, who worked with Knightley in Pride and Prejudice and the Pirates of Caribbean saga.

So successful in fact that for the ‘final’ episode on January 15th 2017 the BBC decided to simultaneously broadcast it in cinemas as well as standard TV screens. The advertising campaign was one the most extensive ever commissioned by the BBC and the poster that accompanied the extremely limited (one night only) cinema release was truly exceptional. Highlighting the two stars (Benedict Cumberbatch & Martin Freeman) it really is stunning, dark and mysterious with a design perfectly suited to the landscape format of the UK quad film poster. Originally rolled this incredibly rare example displays to excellent effect. One of the best looking and most collectable film posters of recent years from a TV series that has become a global favourite.     A rare example of the UK quad movie poster for “Fight the Future” the first big screen outing for FBI Agents Mulder and Scully as the cult TV show of the 90’s is transferred to cinemas. Chris Carter’s hugely influential alien conspiracy series The X-Files ran for 9 seasons and pretty much defined TV in the 1990’s. It’s format and huge success meant a theatrical release was inevitable. Offered here is an original advance teaser “The Truth is revealed only in Cinemas” from its first release in 1998. Well designed; dark and brooding with a stark red “X” and a high gloss finish (I have been told that this finish represented the shiny alien blood) it certainly catches the attention. Presented in excellent rolled (as issued) condition it appears almost faultless and represents an investment grade example of desirable and collectable original TV & film movie memorabilia for a show that defined a generation.
