    Breathless

    £60.00

“Me and Monica! Yeah, me and Monica go to Méjico!”

One of the best Richard Gere images you will see is Eric Pulford’s country unique (British) artwork for the 1983 UK quad movie poster for “Breathless”. To be fair both Gere and co-star Valerie Kaprisky (her first and only US starring role) look pretty good. The original 1983 UK quad movie poster offered here is from first year of release and displays and presents to excellent effect. Originally rolled (as issued) the colours are bright and unfaded and Pulford’s imagery dramatic and exciting. With hardly a defect of note this beautiful rolled unrestored film poster is in investment grade condition and a fine example of rare and collectable original movie memorabilia.

  • Catwoman Alternative Movie Poster

    Catwoman

    £245.00

“Penguin, Joker, Riddler and Catwoman, too ! The sum of the angles of that rectangle is too monstrous to contemplate !”

Released in 2014 as the third instalment of The Art of Ken Taylor through Mondo. This screenprint depiction of Julie Newmar as Catwoman is stunning and a great tribute to the Feline Femme Fatale. It captures the seduction Newmar brought to the character while conveying the light-hearted feel of the beloved 1960s Batman TV series. This is the Regular orange background edition which is hand-numbered #124 out of 275 and signed by the artist. I am a huge Batman fan (all incarnations) and this is one of my favourite Batman posters, a great fun item and a fantastict item of collectable memorabilia from an icon of modern pop culture.

Trivia: Originally planned as the pilot film for the Batman (1966) TV series, the movie was instead produced between the show’s first and second seasons. The producers took advantage of the larger budget to have a number of new Bat-gadgets constructed, such as the BatBoat.

In 1998 a British film was released that launched the modern ‘Brit Gangster’ genre….that film was “Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” and the relaunched genre is still going strong and showing no sign of flagging. “Dead Man Running” stars two actors who have very much cornered the market in Cockney ‘loveable’ rogues…Danny Dyer & Tamer Hassan. Designed by  the advertising agency Creative Partnership the 2009 UK quad that accompanies the cinema release of “Dead Man Running” is typical of the genre. The originally rolled (as issued) film poster offered here displays beautifully and is presented in excellent condition with just very minor handling wear and represents an extremely desirable piece of original British movie memorabilia.
