“A Fairy Tale for Troubled Times”

One of the best looking modern’ film posters produced in a long time…Award winning British UK quad film poster for Guillermo Del Toro’s multi award winning (& nominated) dark sci-fi fantasy movie “The Shape of Water”. With beautiful painted artwork by design agency ‘Midnight Oil’ this design is perfectly suited to the landscape format of the British quad. A whole range of green and blue colour tones is used with the background incredibly detailed and made up the ‘Creature’s’  scales; this is very subtle and only evident on close inspection. The winner of the auction was the owner of a traveling show. Five years later the prop was found in a thrift store in Orange, CA. Film historian Bob Burns purchased it for $1,000. Using blueprints his friend George Pal had given him years earlier, he and a crew of friends restored it. The restoration crew included D.C. Fontana script consultant and writer on Star Trek (1966) and Michael Minor art director on Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan (1982). The X-Files

    £75.00

“On August 21 Take Your Greatest Fear and Multiply it by X”

A rare example of the UK quad movie poster for “Fight the Future” the first big screen outing for FBI Agents Mulder and Scully as the cult TV show of the 90’s is transferred to cinemas. Chris Carter’s hugely influential alien conspiracy series The X-Files ran for 9 seasons and pretty much defined TV in the 1990’s. It’s format and huge success meant a theatrical release was inevitable. Offered here is an original advance teaser “The Truth is revealed only in Cinemas” from its first release in 1998. Well designed; dark and brooding with a stark red “X” and a high gloss finish (I have been told that this finish represented the shiny alien blood) it certainly catches the attention. Presented in excellent rolled (as issued) condition it appears almost faultless and represents an investment grade example of desirable and collectable original TV & film movie memorabilia for a show that defined a generation.
