  • Captain America Movie Poster

    Captain America

    £350.00

“They called him CAPTAIN AMERICA this is his story”

Incredibly rare, original UK quad movie poster for Albert Pyun’s 1990 Marvel super hero actioner Captain America”. One of the best images of Captain America I have seen with close up artwork made to resemble a comic book cover. A stunning visual delight of pomp and colour. Having a limited British release, this is scarce and presented in excellent rolled (as issued) unrestored high grade condition. It really is a beautiful looking piece. Highly collectable, it represents a fabulous opportunity to own very early Marvel movie memorabilia that will appeal to both the comic book fan and  poster collector.

Trivia: Dolph Lundgren and Arnold Schwarzenegger were up for the role of Captain America. Schwarzenegger’s accent lost him the role with Lundgren busy filming The Punisher(1989), about another Marvel Comics character.

  • Robocop Alternative Movie Poster

    Robocop

    £195.00

“Part man. Part machine. All cop. The future of law enforcement.”

Based upon Rob Bottin’s iconic ‘robo’ suit design Paul Mann produced the perfect alternative movie poster to complement his graphics. A truly striking image for Paul Verhoeven’s ultra violent sci-fi masterpiece “Robocop” that is perfectly suited to the portrait format of this edition. Robocop is offset against a colourful background of supporting characters and action imagery, that are made to stand out when placed in front of the black background. It gives a depth that gives an almost 3D effect to the colour imagery. Printed by Mad Duck in 2022 this limited edition art print is hand-numbered #47 from a print run of 200. This excellent example presents and displays near perfectly and represents a fantastic piece of collectable movie memorabilia from one of the defining movies of the 80’s. The ‘original’ & BEST, “Robocop” is fondly remembered and spawned a popular TV show, two sequels and was recently remade as a ‘big budget’ CGI sci-fi actioner…“I’d buy that for a dollar !”

Trivia: The repeated line “I’d buy that for a dollar!” comes from Cyril M. Kornbluth‘s short story “The Marching Morons”, which presents a similarly cynical view of an over-commercialized future that’s desensitized to violence and war. A radio game show in that short story uses the line “I’d buy that for a quarter.” as its signature phrase.

    Total Recall

    £695.00

“How would you know if someone stole your mind ?”

An impressive, highly detailed (you would expect no less from the talented artist Tyler Stout) limited edition ‘Mondo’ lithograph from 2009. Based upon the Arnold Schwarzenegger / Paul Verhoeven 1990 sci-fi ultra-violent actioner “Total Recall”.  “Mondo” are one of a handful of design/art studios  currently creating limited edition prints for classic and contemporary films, representing the most creative and visually striking art the medium has to offer. Offered here is Tyler Stout’s striking interpretation which is limited to only 450 Prints (this is #308 & Hand Signed Signed by Tyler Stout). Long sold out (like the vast majority of the best alternative ‘Mondo’ movie posters) this originally rolled, flat-unfolded (as issued) example displays to exceptional effect that represents a truly outstanding and extremely rare significant item of highly sought after movie memorabilia with a ‘modern’ twist.

Trivia: When Ronald Shusett and Dan O’Bannon first started working on the screenplay for this movie back in the 1970s, they realized that the movie would probably be too expensive and difficult to make (by the standards of special effects and budget at the time). They delayed working on the story and instead worked on an idea O’Bannon had about a space monster terrorizing a spaceship crew. This became Alien (1979).
