    A magnificent original 1960 British UK quad film poster for George Pal’s sci-fi time travel masterpiece for H G Wells’ “The Time Machine”…Beautiful Reynold Brown artwork for one of the best film’s of the genre features ‘George Wells’ battling it out against the cannibalistic Morlocks…a truly classic movie poster; lovely deep rich unfaded colours, fantastic imagery and perfectly complemented by the horizontal landscape design of the British quad. Unrestored and presented in original folded (as issued) condition this superb example presents & displays to impressive effect. An incredibly rare example of a personal favourite film & movie poster that represents an incredible chance to own a corner stone piece of hugely collectable original movie memorabilia; highly recommended.

    Trivia: The original time machine was sold at the MGM studio auction in 1971, the same auction that originally sold the Ruby Slippers (see trivia for The Wizard of Oz (1939)). The winner of the auction was the owner of a traveling show. Five years later the prop was found in a thrift store in Orange, CA. Film historian Bob Burns purchased it for $1,000. Using blueprints his friend George Pal had given him years earlier, he and a crew of friends restored it. The restoration crew included D.C. Fontana script consultant and writer on Star Trek (1966) and Michael Minor art director on Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan (1982).     John Carpenter’s tale of alien occupation is part horror, part Sci-Fi and part social satire, all viewed through dark sunglasses of Roddy Piper . This original They Live movie poster is probably the scarcest of all the John Carpenter paper from the series of four (Escape From New York, Prince of Darkness, The Fog & They Live) 2018 remastered re-releases and a very rare find in such excellent condition as offered here…The original 2018 Japanese B2 film poster for John Carpenter’s  They Live was originally rolled (as issued) & presents in exceptional original unrestored condition with great detailed artwork (unique to the Japanese re-release, as the other posters produced for these releases all feature new re-imaging artwork by Matt Ferguson) & strong vibrant colours.  Extremely rare this example represents very collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from one of the greatest and most influential director’s ever working in  the sci-fi / horror / action genre.

    Directed by John Landis and starring Eddie Murphy and Dan Ackroyd “Trading Places” is one of the strongest comedies of the 1980’s and stands as some of the best work for the main participants – Eddie Murphy (Billy Ray Valentine), Dan Aykroyd (Louis Winthorpe III) & Jamie Lee Curtis (Ophelia). And all three are featured on this original black & white publicity still. Flat and unfolded (as issued) this excellent original 1983 publicity still presents exceptionally well and is presented in a custom made black frame finished with UV plexiglass and represents very collectable & desirable original film memorabilia from a film lauded as a modern comedy classic.

    Trivia: A poster for the fictional film “See You Next Wednesday” is prominently featured in several shots of Ophelia’s apartment. “See You Next Wednesday” is the same fictional film that John Landis references in many of his other films, most notably as a porn film shown in a London cinema in An American Werewolf in London (1981).

Each one hugely collectable in their own right.     Trivia: On a clock that has an hour hand and a minute hand, the time 11:05 makes a V. These two numbers, eleven and five — where eleven is the month, and five is the day — spell out ‘the fifth of November.’ “Remember, remember the 5th of November.”

    Acclaimed comic book and fantasy artist Neal Adams produced a superb ‘Terminator’ image of Yul Brynner (a good 10 years before James Cameron’s cult classic movie would be released) for this original 1973 original UK quad movie poster for “Westworld”. Known as the ‘Monitors’ style it is extremely coveted by collectors of the genre and fans of the artist. Written & Directed by Michael Crichton this “robots gone mad” science fiction horror film was one of the most memorable key titles of the 70’s retaining a huge fanbase to this day. Totally original & unrestored this originally folded (as issued) UK quad film poster is from first year of release, 1973. It displays & presents to excellent effect with beautiful bright white background and vibrant unfaded colours, with the orange of the title particularly vivid. Scarce and very very collectable, this original UK quad film poster would make a fine addition to any movie memorabilia collection or a great starting point for someone new to the market.

    Trivia: Director John Carpenter based the “indestructable” nature of his killer Michael Myers in Halloween (1978) on Yul Brynner‘s character in this film. Similarly, Arnold Schwarzenegger used Brynner’s performance as the basis of his performance in The Terminator (1984).

    Released on Netflix in July 2023 “WHAM!” is one the channel’s most streamed programmes, documenting (largely through the scrap book diaries kept by Andrew Ridgeley’s Mum) the effervescent rise of the happy go lucky pop duo and the emergence of George into a global solo singer/song-writer superstar. Prior to the film’s Netflix release it was screened for one-night only on June 27th in only a small number of select cinemas throughout the UK. The poster (a UK quad) used to accompany and promote this release features the imagery of photographer Chris Craymer. His photograph perfectly captures the charm, bubbliness, friendship and true happiness of the duo as they were starting out on their musical journey. Incredibly rare, due to the very limited number of cinemas showing the movie, this originally rolled (as issued) example displays superbly and represents a fantastic and hugely collectable item of music and movie memorabilia.

    Trivia: “Wham! was one of the most commercially successful pop acts of the 1980s They ended up selling more than 30 million certified records worldwide between 1982 to 1986.”

Hutton’s action packed World War II thriller “Where Eagles Dare” featuring the incredible action adventure artwork of Frank McCarthy. The cable car scene is one of the best remembered and most famous scenes from the film with McCarthy incorporating all the excitement in his imagery. One of the most collected British action adventure war films ever produced, with the fine originally folded (as issued) example offered here being presented in lovely original and unrestored condition. Of all the action / adventure films I deal with there is no doubt that “Where Eagles Dare” appears to have an incredible fan base and this excellent poster represents a fine piece of original movie memorabilia.

    Trivia: Despite Clint Eastwood‘s reputation for violence in other films, his character kills more people in this film than any other Eastwood character.

    An exceptionally rare Indian Three-Sheet from 1969 (the first year of release in India) for Brian G. Hutton’s action packed World War II thriller “Where Eagles Dare” features artwork by C. Mohan based on the original design by Frank McCarthy. The cable car scene is one of the best remembered and most famous scenes from the film and all of the elements are the same, from Eastwood on the cable car to the Castle of The Eagle engulfed in flames in the background. Fans of Bollywood will know at least one of C. Mohan’s pieces as he designed the title for “Sholay”, which is widely considered the greatest Bollywood movie of all time. One of the most collected British action adventure war films ever produced, with the originally folded (as issued) example offered here being presented conservation linen-backed – it displays to excellent with colours that pop, thanks to the stone litho printing process. Of all the action / adventure films I deal with there is no doubt that “Where Eagles Dare” appears to have an incredible fan base and this superb poster represents a fine piece of original movie memorabilia.

    Trivia: The driving force behind this movie was Richard Burton‘s stepson, who wanted to see his stepfather in a good old-fashioned adventure movie. Burton approached producer Elliott Kastner for ideas, who asked Alistair MacLean. At that time, most of MacLean’s novels had either been made into movies, or were in the process of being filmed. Kastner persuaded MacLean to write a new story. Six weeks later, MacLean delivered the script.

The UK quad for this release is a magical piece of Disney illustration featuring Toad enthusiastically driving his latest automobile closely followed by the local constabulary as the supporting cast; Rat, McBadger, Mole, Cyril Proudbottom look on…A FUN poster and one that is genuinely scarce when compared to the mainstream offerings from the ‘House of Mouse’ . This is a rare opportunity for a collector to obtain one of these scarce standalone film posters. First class country unique British design and true to the film animation artwork it features lovely bright bold unfaded colours offset against a truly white background; originally folded (as issued) this unrestored film poster presents very well and is a fine example of rare and collectable original movie memorabilia for a much loved and animated Walt Disney classic.

    Trivia: Mr. Toad’s horse friend , “Cyril Proudbottom”, was a character created for this film. He is based, visually and vocally, on British entertainer George Formby
