    Probably the most important film of ‘modern’ cinema, launching a movie trend that is now commonly referred to as the ‘Summer Blockbuster’. It also happens to be one of the best and most memorable movie poster images ever ! Designed by The Seiniger Advertising Agency with finished artwork by Roger Kastel the poster has attained cult status. Once you’ve seen the film (& who hasn’t) you see the poster and you just can’t get John Williams’ distinctive soundtrack out of your head. This original one-sheer for Steven Spielberg’s 1975 masterpiece “Jaws” is for the September 9th 2022 re-release for IMAX cinema screens and a Real D 3D version. Although retaining the original artwork it has been slightly altered to denote this is, with a shark-bite evident on the ‘A’ of IMAX. Originally rolled (as issued) this displays to excellent effect. Perfect, deep rich colours this is a truly outstanding and extremely rare original film poster that is only available for this very limited cinematic release with the portrait style perhaps the most recognisable for the title. It presents and displays to excellent effect and represents a key item of highly sought after, collectable original movie memorabilia…“You’re gonna need a bigger boat !”

    Trivia: Several decades after the film’s release, Lee Fierro, who played Mrs. Kintner, walked into a seafood restaurant and noticed that the menu had an “Alex Kintner Sandwich.” She commented that she had played his mother so many years ago; the owner of the restaurant ran out to meet her, and he was none other than Jeffrey Voorhees, who had played her son. They had not seen each other since the original movie shoot.

Issued in 2019 as a joint collaboration between Vice Press and Bottleneck Gallery, this Variant white background edition (a colour palette that really emphasises the shark imagery) has been hand-numbered #95 from a print run of 100. When it comes to amazing alternative movie posters, this hand-numbered (#24/250) limited edition art print by Andrew Swainson is a real eye-catcher. There are a lot of alternative ‘Jaws’ posters on the market with this 2021 offering considered one of the best and most desirable; very clever imagery. Released by Vice Press, this wonderfully subtle design by Swainson is a God’s eye view of Amity Island’s beach moments before the shark takes young Alex Kintner as its second victim. We can just make out the image of a shark in the water with its teeth being integrated into the waves as they break onto the shore. A very limited release.     A terrifying eye-catching film poster for Ken Russell’s “Lair of the White Worm”. This original 1988 UK quad film poster is stunning; truly memorable horror imagery as we see a close up of snarling fanged snake-creature about to attack. Very in your face and not at all as understated and restrained (much like the legendary Director). With unique British, country of origin artwork this is an extremely desirable and very scarce poster. In excellent original, unrestored condition this folded (as issued) example displays to superb effect and represents an impressive item of original horror movie memorabilia from a cult British horror classic.

    Trivia: The D’Ampton worm is an obvious reference to the Lambton worm, which is a real English legend, dating back at least to the mediaeval period.

    Although a relatively recent release any paper for Edgar Wright’s 2021 horror mystery “Last Night in Soho” is highly desirable. Not only because it is such a stylish and cool thriller movie but because of a beautiful painted movie poster created by artist, James Paterson. Although a huge success with audiences and critics alike the movie is considered somewhat ‘art-house’ and had a very limited cinema release resulting in the scarcity of the posters used in the marketing campaign with this particular one-sheet design only being used for cinemas where Edgar Wright undertook personal appearances for ‘question & answer’ screenings. Originally rolled (as issued) this British one-sheet movie poster looks and displays to excellent effect with minimal handling wear with imagery perfectly suited to the portrait style format; the subtle use of colours are particularly memorable. A scarce, ‘modern’ original collectable movie memorabilia from a truly talented director that looks very very cool !

    Trivia: The drink ordered by Sandie early on in the film is a Vesper created by Ian Fleming in the 1953 James Bond novel Casino Royale. The character Vesper Lynd was portrayed by Eva Green in Casino Royale (2006).

    A scarce and beautiful example from a series of films financed and produced in Italy during the 1960’s and affectionately known as ‘sword and sandal’ dramas. “Monster From The Unknown World” (Atlas in the Land of the Cyclops) tells the story of strongman Maciste (for Maciste you could insert Samson, Hercules, Atlas etc) as he battles mythical beasts in the search for ancient justice. Camp (not necessarily the intention) and certainly of the time these series of films have developed a cult following and are particularly collectable. This original UK quad film poster for Antonio Leonviola’s “Monster From The Unknown World” is from first year of release 1961 and really is a stunning example of fantasy horror artwork which is unique to the British release. Very rare to find in such fine original unrestored condition; the colours are bright, vibrant & unfaded & really pop from the paper. This scarce, folded (as issued) unrestored example displays and presents to excellent effect and represents an extremely desirable piece of 1960’s British cinema memorabilia.

    Undoubtedly, one of the great music biography films; David Bowie as presented by Brett Morgen in “Moonage Daydream”. Technically it’s not a biography but a loud, vivid, exploration and celebration of Bowie’s life, art, and music. Made up of clips cleverly edited together and enhanced to make this a cinematic experience. This original 2022 one-sheet designed by Empire Design and featuring an iconic Bianca Moran Parkes Bowie image is a truly great find due to the very limited cinematic release in art-house and small independent cinemas. Presented in near perfect unrestored, rolled (as issued) condition – truly stunning, and a perfect compliment to the ground breaking musician. Incredibly scarce with a very low print run this really is an exciting item of rock / movie collectible from one of the most influential icons of modern pop culture…David Bowie.

    Trivia: The documentary includes a lot of David Bowie‘s unpublished personal material, including photos, home videos and some interviews on TV. Director Brett Morgen talked in person with Bowie’s widow, top model Iman, for asking permission to use the material as tribute to Bowie. Although in a first moment she was reluctant to this idea, she was convinced by Morgen’s previous works Cobain: Montage of Heck (2015) and Jane (2017) about singer Kurt Cobain and scientist Jane Goodall, where Morgen used personal material from each other to create artistic collages as tribute to them, instead to use in the way to make a classic biographic documentary.
