One of the cinemas all time classic movies…Ridley Scott’s Oscar winning deep space horror “Alien”. Any paper for this film is extremely sought after with the alien ‘egg’ style, designed by creative arts agency Bemis Balkind the most recognisable. On halloween 2003 “Alien” was re-released in a remastered Director’s Cut format. Sensibly the Studio went with the original 1979 poster design and updated it by printing a small number of posters on heavy stock paper with a silver background and luminous green plastic panel (on reverse) offsetting a die-cut ‘bleeding’ edge to represent the Alien blood. The UK quad poster offered here is from this 2003 release and it displays and presents to excellent effect being originally rolled (as issued). There is no fading with deep blacks/greens & stand out silver colour tone…Hugely collectable, a desirable piece of original film movie memorabilia from a truly influential movie that defined the face of modern sci-fi horror.
Trivia: Dan O’Bannon‘s original draft title was “Star Beast”, but he was never happy with this. It was only after re-reading his script that he noted how many times the word “alien” appeared, and realized that it was a perfect title. It works as a noun and an adjective, and it had never been used before.

A truly influential genre great…John Landis‘ tongue in cheek werewolf horror romp “An American Werewolf in London”. This original black & white publicity still is flat and unfolded (as issued), in exceptional condition, presented in a custom made black frame finished with UV plexi glass and features a classic scene from this much loved movie where David Kessler (David Naughton) is recovering in hospital when he is visited by the werewolf mutilated ghost of his best friend Jack Goodman (Griffin Dune). A superb piece of cinematic memorabilia from the “golden age” of physical movie special effects presented framed and ready to hang in excellent original condition. “I vote we go back to the Slaughtered Lamb”
Trivia: Rick Baker claimed to have been disappointed by the amount of time spent shooting the face changing shot for the transformation after having spent months working on the mechanism. John Landis only required one take lasting about seven seconds. Baker felt he had wasted his time until seeing the film with an audience that applauded during that one seven second shot.

A personal favourite and quite simply a stunning looking film poster for Francis Ford Coppola’s multi award winning Vietnam war epic “Apocalypse Now”. There is no doubting the influence and impact of Coppola’s 1979 masterpiece with any paper hugely desirable and the Japanese B2 film poster offered here is no exception. This version features a design unique to Japan which utilises the iconic ‘helicopters in the sunset’ artwork created by Bob Peak for the US & British posters with two incredible photo images of Colonel Kurtz (Marlon Brando) & assassin Benjamin Willard (Martin Sheen) dominating the foreground. A poster with truly memorable imagery for Coppola’s voyage into the ‘Heart of Darkness’. “Apocalypse Now” is a 2011 Restored and Remastered of Francis Ford Coppola‘s epic war film Apocalypse Now, which was originally released in 1979. Coppola, along with editor/longtime collaborator Walter Murch, personally supervised the restoration for this landmark release which features for the first time in landscape format the iconic ‘helicopters in the sunset’ artwork created by Bob Peak for the original 1979 campaign. There is no doubting that this sweeping vista widescreen style perfectly suits the UK quad format. Printed on a heavier than usual stock paper the colour saturation is superb allowing the burnt orange sunset to really pop, add to this the addition of gold title and text detailing it is a poster that doesn’t fail to impress. Totally unrestored and rolled (as issued) this presents and displays to excellent effect with only minimal handling wear. Trivia: Francis Ford Coppola believed that Marlon Brando was familiar with Joseph Conrad‘s “Heart of Darkness”, the novel on which the movie is based. When Brando arrived on-set, Coppola was horrified to find that Brando had never read “Heart of Darkness”, did not know his lines, and had become extremely overweight. Kurtz had always been written as tall and very thin. After some panic, Coppola decided to film the 5’10” Brando as if he was a massively built, 6’5″ brute to explain his size, and kept the camera away from his huge belly.

Trivia: John Milius explained how he had come up with the title “Apocalypse Now”. Apparently, this was derived from a very popular tattoo among the hippie community of a peace sign that said “Nirvana Now”. Milius, by adding just a couple of extra lines, edited the peace symbol to make it look like a circle with a B52 bomber in the middle, and changed the slogan to “Apocalypse Now”.

A personal favourite and quite simply a beautiful film poster for the 40th Anniversary remastered & restored release of Francis Ford Coppola’s multi award winning Vietnam war epic “Apocalypse Now”. There is no doubting the influence and impact of Coppola’s masterpiece with any paper hugely desirable and the 2019 Laurent Durieux designed UK quad film poster offered here is no exception. The imagery truly captures the cloying atmosphere and dark tone of the movie with a close up shot of army assassin Benjamin Willard (Martin Sheen) emerging from the river with his target Colonel Kurtz (Marlon Brando) a reflected mirror image. The red and green colour palette only enhances the whole look; absolutely stunning poster (the photo just doesn’t do this poster justice, it needs to be seen to be appreciated) with truly memorable imagery for Coppola’s voyage into the ‘Heart of Darkness’. Originally rolled (as issued) this totally unrestored example presents and displays to excellent effect with only minimal handling wear that represents an incredible piece of original movie memorabilia from one of the finest film’s ever made…“Napalm, son. Trivia: While in pre-production, Francis Ford Coppola consulted his friend and mentor Roger Corman for advice about shooting in the Phillipines. Corman’s advice: “Don’t go.” Shooting, originally scheduled for six weeks, took 16 months.

“Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas”
Sam Raimi’s “Army of Darkness: Evil Dead 3” is not as rooted in the horror genre as its predecessors – although it has its horrific elements, it seems to be first and foremost a dark fantasy comedy – with lots of one-liners and slapstick and gore. It’s kind of a delirious combination of horror, comedy, fantasy, action, and adventure, but it’s definitely the horror element that comes across in this 2017 alternative movie poster from Graham Humphreys. The medieval dead and undead never looked scarier and are out in full force as the hero from the previous two instalments – Ash (Bruce Campbell) cuts a worried looking figure. Originally rolled (as issued) the example offered here is truly exceptional; This limited edition it has been signed by Humphreys and hand-numbered #48/100 and displays and presents to excellent effect with amazing imagery and deep, rich colours. The horror ‘fan-boy’ love for Sam Raimi & Bruce Campbell is well deserved with related memorabilia much sought after, making this a hugely collectable piece.

A beautiful British Quad for Terrence Malick’s cinematic debut “Badlands” starring Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek as the young couple on a killing spree across the ‘badlands of Montana’. This 2008 BFI (British Film Institute) re-release offering sees the original 1973 British artwork adapted to a full bleed image with no white border. It really works, resulting in a particularly powerful silhouette imagery. Presented unrestored, in originally rolled (as issued) condition, this scarce British poster rarely comes to market and represents a fine piece of cinematic memorabilia for a cult classic movie.
Trivia: The film’s plot and lead characters are based on Charles Starkweather and Caril Fugate. In 1958, they embarked on a murder spree that horrified the country.

“Love Comes To The Forest Folk . . . and to you, in one of the world’s greatest love stories !”
Original British front of house full colour lobby card produced by Walt Disney for their 1982 cinematic re-release of “Bambi” which features the young playful fawn Bambi and his friend Thumper. Originally made during the middle of WW2 and following Snow White, Pinocchio and Dumbo this cartoon must have provided some relief to world weary families. Although initially disappointing box office returns the film went on to become one of the true classics of Disney studios. The film is a coming of age story about a fawn living in the forest and was the first of Disney’s cartoons to feature an all animal cast. Originally flat and unfolded (as issued) this unrestored example presents superbly with amazing vibrant colours and represents a fine example of rare and collectable original movie memorabilia for a much loved Walt Disney classic.
Trivia: Bambi (1942) was Walt Disney‘s personal favourite of all his animated features.

In arguably the most famous role of her career, Jane Fonda stars as “Barbarella” in Roger Vadim’s, campy, sci-fi fantasy. Based on the hugely popular French comic strip by Jean-Claude Forest the film is considered one of the 1960s quintessential cult movies. Its stylish and colourful comic art layout scenes are truly unique for the period, and represent a nice homage to its comic book roots. These scenes are captured to great effect in a series of eight British front of house lobby cards with Fonda featured in all, including the iconic and super sexy ray-gun in hand pose. Originally flat-unfolded (as issued) this beautiful complete set of all eight cards display to excellent effect with only minimal handling wear, vibrant, unfaded colours and an incredible selection of key scenes. An impressive set of highly collectable cinematic memorabilia for a much admired sci-fi classic that rarely turns up complete.
Trivia: Jane Fonda is filmed at times, especially during the opening spacesuit striptease sequence, in the famous French director’s “Vadim Tease” directorial style.
