  • Night of the Living Dead Movie Poster

    Night of the Living Dead

    £250.00

“If it doesn’t scare you, you’re already dead!”

In 2022 George A. Romero’s zombie classic “Night of the Living Dead”, received an extremely limited release exclusively in certain Japanese cinemas. Designed using zombie footage from the movie their were two poster designs, black, white and lurid green imagery with either a grey or green sky printed to accompany the screenings. Both are particularly haunting with a very retro feel. These country unique, Japanese B2 posters are extremely eye-catching and presented in excellent unrestored, originally rolled (as issued) condition. Incredibly scarce horror artwork and a very rare highly desirable example of cinema memorabilia from perhaps the most influential horror film of the modern era. Both colour styles are equally rare with this example being the ‘grey’ sky version.

“This is like the flood that happened during Noah’s time, or the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah! We ARE being punished for our sins! The dead are rising, and Judgment Day is upon us!”

Trivia: This is one of the most profitable independent movies ever made. Made for $114,000 (equivalent to $941,800 in 2022), it grossed approximately $30 million (equivalent to $247.8 million in 2022) – over 263 times its budget.

  • Silence of the Lambs Movie Poster

    Silence of the Lambs

    £195.00

“Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Brilliant. Cunning. Psychotic. In his mind lies the clue to a ruthless killer – Clarice Starling, FBI. Brilliant. Vulnerable. Alone. She must trust him to stop the killer.”

Jonathan Demme’s “The Silence of the Lambs” is one of the best horror thriller movies ever made; excellent Award winning performances, full of dark humour and gory thrills. This original pair of 1991 British double crowns features a design by Marcus Silversides commissioned by the design agency BLT Communications which really is two clever and visually stunning pieces of complementing artwork with an amazing use of colour (white and pale colour tones for Clarice and deep, blood red for Lecter) and imagery featuring skull adorned winged moths over both Anthony Hopkins (Hannibal Lecter) and Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) leading characters’ mouths. Presented in very good condition these rolled (as issued) examples display superbly and represent fine pieces of original cinematic movie memorabilia.

Note: the price is for both posters, Clarice Starling and Hannibal Lecter

Trivia: When Sir Anthony Hopkins found out that he was cast as Dr. Hannibal Lecter, based on his performance as Dr. Frederick Treves in The Elephant Man (1980), he questioned director Jonathan Demme, and said “But Dr. Treves was a good man”, to which Demme replied “So is Lecter, he is a good man too. Just trapped in an insane mind.”

    The Silence of the Lambs

Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Brilliant. Cunning. Psychotic. In his mind lies the clue to a ruthless killer. – Clarice Starling, FBI. Brilliant. Vulnerable. Alone. She must trust him to stop the killer.

Jonathan Demme’s “The Silence of the Lambs” is one of the best horror thriller movies ever made; excellent Award winning performances, full of dark humour and gory thrills. This 2020 alternative movie poster by the American graphic artist Todd Alcott is a truly outstanding piece as he re-imagines and pays homage to the classic 1962 one-sheet for another horror thriller “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane”. It really is a clever and visually stunning piece of artwork that appears as a beaten up old poster. Presented in excellent condition this rolled (as issued) example displays superbly and has been printed to look aged and distressed. Alcott’s artwork represents a great twist on traditional horror movie memorabilia and is a great example in the rapidly expanding area of alternative movie posters being one of the best looking alternative movie posters I have seen.

Trivia: When Sir Anthony Hopkins‘s agent called him in London, to tell him that he was sending him a script called “The Silence of the Lambs,” Hopkins immediately thought he might be going up for a children’s movie.

  • Zombie Flesh Eaters Movie Poster Movie Poster

    Zombie Flesh Eaters

    £1,495.00

“When the earth spits out the dead…..They will return to tear the flesh of the living.”

Nicknamed ‘The Godfather of Gore‘, the late Italian director Lucio Fulci is responsible for several memorable entries in the horror genre and Zombie Flesh Eaters is considered to be one of the ‘big four’ Fulci films and the first in his ‘Gates of Hell’ series. (the others being City of the Living Dead, The Beyond and The House by the Cemetery), which were all made within two years of each other. Featuring country unique British design by master illustrator Tom Beaivais this original UK quad movie poster is certainly impressive. From first year of release 1979 this folded (as issued) original, UK quad movie poster displays to excellent effect and is presented with light restoration (fold lines flattened out) and conservation linen backed with bright unfaded colour tones and fluorescent yellow title logo. A really nice find for a genuinely scarce item of original horror movie memorabilia from a classic of the so called ‘video nasties‘ productions of the 1970’s and early 80’s.

Trivia: The zombies in this film were modeled to resemble the original voodoo legends of the walking dead from Hatian and Caribbean legends of people after being supposedly reanimated from being dead. In contrast to the zombies in George A. Romero‘s Dawn of the Dead (1978) and other zombie films, nearly all of these zombies walk with their heads down, their eyes closed, and with their arms always at their sides. Only three zombies featured have their eyes open.
