    A beautiful British Quad for Terrence Malick’s cinematic debut “Badlands” starring Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek as the young couple on a killing spree across the ‘badlands of Montana’. This 2008 BFI (British Film Institute) re-release offering sees the original 1973 British artwork adapted to a full bleed image with no white border. It really works, resulting in a particularly powerful silhouette imagery. Presented unrestored, in originally rolled (as issued) condition, this scarce British poster rarely comes to market and represents a fine piece of cinematic memorabilia for a cult classic movie.

    Trivia: The film’s plot and lead characters are based on Charles Starkweather and Caril Fugate. In 1958, they embarked on a murder spree that horrified the country.

    A cult  film poster for a cult ‘Brit-Flick’ gangster movie…Sacha Bennet’s brutal true-life crime thriller “Bonded By Blood”. The original 2010 UK quad film poster offered here is a ‘cast-style’ offering featuring the main stars. A very collectible example, this originally rolled (as issued) film poster displays beautifully and is presented in excellent condition with just very minor handling wear and represents an extremely desirable piece of original British movie memorabilia.

    Trivia: This is the third telling of the notorious Essex Boys murders that was previous filmed as Essex Boys (2000) and Rise of the Footsoldier (2007).

Like many small studio independent releases the advertising campaign was very low key and the UK film poster that accompanied the extremely limited cinema showings is truly scarce.     In 1998 a British film was released that launched the modern ‘Brit Gangster’ genre….that film was “Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” and the relaunched genre is still going strong and showing no sign of flagging. “Dead Man Running” stars two actors who have very much cornered the market in Cockney ‘loveable’ rogues…Danny Dyer & Tamer Hassan. Designed by  the advertising agency Creative Partnership the 2009 UK quad that accompanies the cinema release of “Dead Man Running” is typical of the genre. The originally rolled (as issued) film poster offered here displays beautifully and is presented in excellent condition with just very minor handling wear and represents an extremely desirable piece of original British movie memorabilia.

    Trivia: The film was having trouble finding an American distributor when Trudie Styler called an acquaintance of hers – Tom Cruise. He attended a screening and loved the film. Matthew Vaughn later recalled, “It was hysterical. You had all these mid-level executives sitting there, and Cruise walked in. He saw them all sit up and pay attention, all getting on their phones, and suddenly all these senior executives joined the screening … At the end, Tom got up in front of everyone and said ‘This is the best movie I’ve seen in years, you guys would be fools not to buy it.’…”

    Francis Ford Coppola’s multi Oscar winning masterpiece “The Godfather” is THE GREATEST FILM EVER MADE. Re-released in 2022 for its 5oth Anniversary, renowned artist Paul Shipper was commissioned to create a new poster for the event. Shipper’s artwork is superb with an incredible cast montage poster, with as you would expect Brando & Pacino taking centre stage. This British one-sheet displays to excellent effect and is an outstanding movie poster for a film, that is a phenomenon. An exquisite Mafia epic with outstanding performances, Coppola got everything right, creating a cinematic event with an immeasurable influence on everyday culture and life.

    Trivia: The smack that Vito gives Johnny Fontane was not in the script. Marlon Brando improvised the smack and Al Martinos confused reaction was real. According to James Caan, “Martino didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.”
