“This Time It’s War”
An alternative movie poster for James Cameron’s “Aliens”, that is unquestionably one of the best for the title. Being one of the most popular subjects for alternative movie posters, artist Roger Motzkus has created an incredible looking poster and one of my personal favourites for the movie. His hand-numbered #42/100 giclee screenprint is truly a stunning piece that has captured the alien and the actors’ likenesses with real accuracy and being a giclee print the colours have an amazing, vibrant finish. Originally rolled (as issued) this looks and displays to excellent effect, absolutely beautiful and a desirable item of modern collectable movie memorabilia from a truly exciting film franchise.. “Aliens” has gone on to become a benchmark for the sci-fi actioner. The alternative movie poster offered here is from 2022 and presents to excellent effect in original unrestored, rolled (as issued) condition that represents a fine piece of movie memorabilia and artwork from a truly influential movie that changed the face of the modern sci-fi action movie forever.
Trivia: Sigourney Weaver‘s Best Actress Academy Award nomination for this movie was the first ever for an actress in a role in an action and sci-fi movie.
What is Giclee ?

“Penguin, Joker, Riddler and Catwoman, too ! The sum of the angles of that rectangle is too monstrous to contemplate !”
Long before Tim Burton re-invented him, Chris Chris Nolan re-imagined him and Ben Affleck played him as an older more mature Caped Crusader there was BATMAN 1960’s style, as the decade’s most popular TV show was bat-ransported to this alternative movie poster. “Batman ’66” by Mark Pagacz. A truly exciting poster with imagery that appears photographic, but is actually illustration. Pagacz’ dynamic and colourful artwork perfectly encapsulates the swinging 60’s vibe and light-hearted tone of the film. His design and layout is superb featuring all the iconic bat-villains – Joker, Riddler, Penguin, Catwoman with Batman & Robin (rightly so) taking centre stage. It is a WOW factor poster; Printed by in 2022 this limited edition art print is hand-numbered #50/215 that presents and displays near perfectly and represents a fantastic piece of collectable movie memorabilia. I am a huge Batman fan (all incarnations) and this is one of my favourite Batman posters.
Trivia: Originally planned as the pilot film for the Batman (1966) TV series, the movie was instead produced between the show’s first and second seasons. The producers took advantage of the larger budget to have a number of new Bat-gadgets constructed, such as the BatBoat.

“Being the adventures of a young man whose principal interests are rape, ultra-violence and Beethoven.”
Without doubt the most controversial film of it’s day, and that’s saying something when you consider it was released alongside “The Exorcist” and “Last Tango in Paris”. Often the subject matter for many up and coming artists looking to make a name for themselves in the up and coming Alternative Movie Poster market, this offering by Stella Ygris really is a cut above the rest. This 2022 release for Stanley Kubrick’s ultra-violent masterpiece “Clockwork Orange” is quite simply a stunning piece of artwork, with a strictly limited print run of only 50 this is numbered #25. Malcolm McDowell’s character Alex provides the focal point. Visual impact and artistic design are key aspects of any Kibrick production and this beautiful example perfectly illustrates that. Absolutely stunning, the photograph really doesn’t do this example justice – being a giclee print (see below) the vibrant colours pop from the paper. The film still remains Kubrick’s most controversial work; quite a feat when one considers the range of topics the filmmaker explored across his remarkable career. This superb unrestored example is presented rolled (as issued) and displays to excellent effect. A superb addition to any collection and an incredible piece of modern film art and cultural memorabilia.
Trivia: The film was unavailable for public viewing in the UK from 1973 until 2000, the year after Stanley Kubrick‘s death. British video stores were so inundated with requests for the movie that some took to putting up signs that read: ‘No, we do not have A Clockwork Orange (1971).’

“How much can you know about yourself if you’ve never been in a fight ?”
An original country of origin US alternative movie poster from 2022 by the artist Vance Kelly for David Fincher’s cult drama thriller “Fight Club” featuring Brad Pitt, Edward Norton with some amazing artwork and glow in dark pink ink detailing. Rarely has a film been so keyed into its time, in ways that, commercially, will be both advantageous and damaging as “Fight Club” and despite certain hostility from some sectors, especially in the U.S., this bold, inventive, sustained adrenaline rush of a movie about a guru (Pitt) who advocates brutality and mayhem excited and exhilarated audiences everywhere in significant numbers. Presented in excellent rolled (as issued) condition this limited edition print is hand-numbered #30 from a print run of only 65 and was originally made available as an exclusive New York Comic Con print that represents a distinctive and collectable item of movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The visible breath in the cave scene is recycled Leonardo DiCaprio breath from Titanic(1997), which was composited into the shot.

Martin Scorsese’s “Goodfellas” is an iconic motion picture and a giant of the gangster genre that will stand the test of time for years and years to come. The movie poster imagery that accompanied the 1990 release featured the three main stars – De Niro, Pesci & Liotta. And it’s those actors who take centre stage on this 2022 alternative movie poster by Nick Runge. In addition to the main characters, Runge has incorporated several key scenes and supporting characters into the artwork including one of the most memorable scenes from the movie as they get set to bury Billy Batts in the forest. A truly eye-catching design this originally rolled (as issued) example displays & presents to excellent effect with beautiful colour tones with a red that pops from the paper. Being giclee the finish appears painted and it is absolutely stunning in hand, with the photo not doing it justice. Hugely desirable and a must have title for the serious poster collector or Goodfellas fan it represents a premium piece of quality collectable movie memorabilia.
Trivia: The “How am I funny?” scene is based on something that actually happened to Joe Pesci. While working in a restaurant, a young Pesci apparently told a mobster that he was funny, a compliment that was met with a less-than-enthusiastic response. Pesci relayed the anecdote to Martin Scorsese, who decided to include it in the film. Scorsese didn’t include the scene in the shooting script, so that Pesci and Ray Liotta‘s interactions would elicit genuinely surprised reactions from the supporting cast.

“Far Up…Far Out…Far More..”
An outstanding limited edition quad style and size, alternative movie poster for George Lazenby‘s one & only appearance as Ian Fleming’s super spy James Bond in “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”. A magnificent, James Bond poster with bold vibrant colours and a combination of intricate and detailed all-action artwork from one of the best illustrators currently working – Paul Mann. Truly impressive and immediately recognisable as a Bond film. This alternative movie poster printed in 2022 is particularly scarce as it was printed full quad size at 30″ x 40″ with only 100 in exclusive this run – it sold out immediately on release. Presented unrestored in original unfolded (as issued), rolled condition this is hand-numbered #004 (any 00 number is particularly important for any Bond collector) example displays to impressive effect and represents a fantastic piece of collectable James Bond cinematic memorabilia from one of the most respected entries in this long running franchise.
Trivia: George Lazenby suggested a scene where Bond skis off a cliff and opens a parachute. This was scrapped, as the filmmakers lacked the resources to pull it off. It was used as the opening for The Spy Who Loved Me (1977).

Probably the most important film of ‘modern’ cinema, launching a movie trend that is now commonly referred to as the ‘Summer Blockbuster’. It also happens to be one of the best and most memorable movie poster images ever ! So why reinvent it ? Of all the different variations for a “Jaws” poster, this alternative movie poster based (only slightly tweaked) on his original 1976 design is by leading Thai artist Banhan Thaitanaboon, is considered one of the best. Roger Kastel’s original design of the huge Great White Shark about to break the waterline and devour the naked female swimmer has been adapted. The top half of the poster includes incredible lifelike illustrations of the key actor’s Quint (Robert Shaw), Chief Brody (Roy Scheider) and Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss), with some action thrown for good measure as the shark attacks Hooper in the underwater cage. Film and alternative movie posters by Thai artists are starting to gain a strong following with collectors, and with artists like Ise Ananphada, Banhan, Kwow and Tongdee Panumas, it’s easy to see why. Printed by Baker Press, this very limited release of only 40, has been hand-signed in gold pen with a full signature by the artist – Banhan Thaitanaboon. Totally unrestored this beautiful rolled, unfolded (as issued) example displays to exceptional effect, and with 11 coloured inks used, as expected the colours pop from the paper. Trivia: Several decades after the film’s release, Lee Fierro, who played Mrs. Kintner, walked into a seafood restaurant and noticed that the menu had an “Alex Kintner Sandwich.” She commented that she had played his mother so many years ago; the owner of the restaurant ran out to meet her, and he was none other than Jeffrey Voorhees, who had played her son. They had not seen each other since the original movie shoot.

A hugely popular title, either as Curse or as offered here Night of the Demon with horror movie fans. Rightly regarded as a true classic of the genre and personally in my top three movies ever. Original paper for this from 1957 is very sought after and also very expensive making this alternative movie poster from 2022 a great find. Commissioned by Under the Floorboards, artist Simon Davis has produced an incredible image of the titular Demon. This limited edition art print is hand-numbered #16 from a print run of 50 and signed by the artist with title font that features a glow in the dark overlay ink. A really nice addition is the inclusion of a piece of parchment paper, hand-written in runic lettering that matches the prop from the movie. This excellent example presents and displays near perfectly and represents a superior piece of collectable movie memorabilia from one of the finest horror film’s ever made.
Trivia: This British production became regarded as one of the best horror films of the 1950s. The image of the demon from this film became an iconic image for 1950s horror films.

Artist Saniose has produced the perfect alternative movie poster for Paul Verhoeven’s ultra violent sci-fi masterpiece “Robocop” Titled the Battle Damage edition Robocop is offset against a colourful background of action packed imagery and supporting characters, including the iconic ED 209. Not just a stunning poster, hand numbered limited edition poster (#9/150) this example has also been autographed by the actor Peter Weller, annotated with his character name ‘ROBO’ with the movie’s tagline ‘Part Man, Part Machine, All Cop !’ The signing was carried out in 2023 (June) at FanExpo, Philadelphia and is accompanied by an official JSA Certificate of Authenticity from the event numbered AK96629. This excellent signed item presents and displays near perfectly and represents a fantastic piece of collectable movie memorabilia from one of the defining movies of the 80’s. The ‘original’ & BEST, “Robocop” is fondly remembered and spawned a popular TV show, two sequels and was recently remade as a ‘big budget’ CGI sci-fi actioner…“I’d buy that for a dollar !”
Trivia: The repeated line “I’d buy that for a dollar!” comes from Cyril M. Kornbluth‘s short story “The Marching Morons”, which presents a similarly cynical view of an over-commercialized future that’s desensitized to violence and war. A radio game show in that short story uses the line “I’d buy that for a quarter.” as its signature phrase.

One of the greatest and most influential gangster movies of all time and this 2022 limited edition art print by Matt Ferguson and Florey is one of the best alternative movie posters produced for Brian De Palma’s “Scarface”. Hand-signed by both artists this artist proof edition released by Vice Press features a key scene from the movie as Tony Montana sits brooding in his darkened study awaiting the violent and bloody onslaught he knows is coming with the rug cleverly illustrated to resemble a river of blood. A fantastic example of highly desirable movie memorabilia, that’s very cool and looks incredible.
Trivia: The international corporation set up by Saddam Hussein to launder money from his various enterprises was called Montana Management after the Scarface (1983) main character.

An officially licensed, sold out “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope” alternative movie poster released in 2022 by Ann Bembi, who has created an incredibly exciting print featuring all of the major cast – the way C-3PO literally sparkles is super cool and a perfect example of how the giclee process works. Being a giclee finished print the colours and overall finish particularly striking, giving an impressive almost painted effect. This limited edition is hand-numbered #77/225. Scarce and highly sought after, Bembi’s imagery is already firmly established as a fans favourite, and this fantastic, visually striking fine art print represents a fine addition for any collector of movie posters or Star Wars fan memorabilia.
Trivia: The word “Jedi” is derived from the Japanese words “Jidai Geki,” which translate as “period adventure drama.” A period adventure drama is a Japanese television soap opera program set in the samurai days. George Lucas mentioned in an interview that he saw a “Jidai Geki” program on television while in Japan a year or so before the movie was made, and he liked the word.
