In the UK Crew Creative Advertising were commissioned for the film poster advertising campaign of the hotly anticipated sequel “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”. The sequel introduced one of the franchises most beloved characters; “Dobby , the House Elf”. And it was Dobby who features on this special Christmas edition (green & red colour tones instead of the regular blue) Advance Teaser UK quad film poster with the the seasonal tagline …“Not One of Santa’s Elves”. One of the best looking and certainly one of the rarest Harry Potter posters; this style hardly ever shows up and is a great find in this excellent condition. Offered rolled (as issued) this fine example is guaranteed original and presents superbly. It represents is a fine piece of hard to find Harry Potter movie memorabilia.

    Trivia: During the shoot, the part of Dobby was played by a ball on a stick.

    Trivia: Alan Rickman was hand picked to play Snape by J.K. Rowling, and received special instructions from her about character. Rowling even provided him with vital details of Snape’s backstory, not revealed until the final novel.

Arguably one of the best and certainly one of the rarest is the ‘Hogwarts’ Style Advance Teaser; this version hardly ever shows up and is a great find. This original US one sheet from 2001 features a magical image of Hogwart’s by night as the would be wizards make their way to its doors by lantern lit boats. Originally rolled (as issued) this lovely example presents very well and represents is a fine piece of genuinely rare original Harry Potter and movie memorabilia.

    Trivia: The Hogwarts’ motto, “Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus”, means “never tickle a sleeping dragon”.

Arguably one of the best is the painted, full cast artwork by Drew Struzan. Incredibly popular with fans and highly collectable it is no surprise that in 2023 Bottleneck Gallery released two high quality, limited edition prints of the artwork and it is the title style offered here which has been hand-numbered #95/550. The print quality and colour saturation is outstanding and truly a joy to behold in person. Originally rolled (as issued) this lovely example presents to excellent effect and represents is a fine piece of Harry Potter movie memorabilia.

    Trivia: This movie and the novel on which it is based are known as “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” everywhere except the US. This was because the US publisher, Scholastic, demanded JK Rowling change the title (and corresponding text in the book) to “Sorcerer’s Stone”, believing that American audiences were largely unfamiliar with the ‘Philosopher’s Stone’ concept. To keep the movie consistent with the book, every scene in the movie where the Philosopher’s Stone is mentioned was filmed twice (once with the cast members saying “Philosopher’s”, and once with them saying “Sorcerer’s”) or dubbed (most notably, one of the times Hermoine says it in the library and her face isn’t shown).

    An outstanding modern example of a true British horror classic. An original 2012 Country of Origin British UK quad film poster for Hammer Films’ horror “The Woman in Black”. Unlike the computer generated, photoshopped posters that accompanied the initial release, renowned horror illustrator Graham Humphreys was commissioned by Momentum and Hammer Films, to create an exclusive ‘old school’ horror poster for certain limited screenings as part of the Hammer Classic Film archive collection. These examples, all personally hand-signed by Humphreys are incredibly scarce and highly sought after by poster and Hammer collectors. Presented in original, unrestored condition this rolled (as issued) poster displays and presents to excellent effect that due to the very limited print run represents a sought item of horror movie memorabilia.

    Trivia: The Woman in Black (2012) was originally passed by the British Board of Film Classification with a 15 certificate. However the distributor, Momentum Pictures, suggested several cuts and the BBFC agreed to a lower 12A certificate. Despite this, it was this film which was most complained about to the BBFC in 2011.
